Game #3: DAL 10-3

J.Abreu 3-5 2 RBI with homer (6) and V.Caratini 2-5 3 RBI with a homer (7) lead DAL to easy win. Z.Plesac (4-3) throws 8 innings of 4-hit ball to win it.
L.Rengifo’s 3-run blast (10) is only VIR offense.

Game #4: DAL 8-7 (14 innings)

V.Robles (1) and H.Dozier (4) homer among the 19 hits DAL banged out, but it was S,Brown’s second homer (7,8) in the 14th that gave DAL the win.

Game #5: VIR 11-10

Down 10-3 going into the bottom of the 9th, VIR exploded for 7 runs to tie the game with the aid of homers by W,Merryfield (1) and A.Rizzo (14). G.Springer’s walk-off RBI single gave VIR the unbelievable win.
DAL- J.Abreu (7,8), S,Brown ((9), V.Caratini (8) and K.Calhoun (9) went deep for DAL.
VIR- R.Devers (12), A.Rizzo (14) and W.Merryfield (1) homered for VIR.

Game #6: VIR 9-1

C,Biggio (2-3 2R 2BB and 2 RBI) and L.Rengifo (2-3 2R 2BB and 2 RBI) led a 13 hit attack as VIR claimed the series and S.Baz (1-3) threw 6 innings of 3 hit ball to get his first victory

Summary: VIR takes series4-2 as I had to auto play several games because I had Cataract surgery and had a hard time seeing.

Preview: For the second week in a row, Baltimore plays host to a first place N.L. team. The Tempe Tempers bring their gaudy 43-9 record to Baltimore to face the 33-20 Comets.
Game #1: Tempe takes an early 2-0 lead. Baltimore battles back to tie the game in the 6th, only to see Hector Neris implode and give up 3 runs on 4 hits in 2/3 of an inning and the Tempers win the opener 6-2. J.D. Martinez has a 3 for 3 day with 2 RBIs for Tempe. Martin Perez scatters 5 hits, allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, over 6 innings to up his record to 11-1.

Game #5: Matt Olson’s RBI double puts Baltimore up 1-0 on Justin Verlander in the first, but that’s all the Comets would get. Sonny Gray pitches well, but he allows 2 runs, including a Brandon Drury solo homerun, and Baltimore falls 2-1. Verlander is now 13-0.

Portland  Lumber Jax @ Columbus  Explorers

Preview: Two teams struggling through the season – with hopes of better futures ahead?
Game #1: Portland wins 4-3 – big blast, C.J. Cron (9) 3 run homer.
Game #2: Columbus gets 9 runs, just what was needed in 9-8 win. C.J. Cron (10) again homers for Portland as does Gleyber Torres – twice (10), Seiya Suzuki (2) and Ryan Jeffers. Charlie Blackmon slugs 2 for Columbus (9) and Francisco Mejia launces his 1st.
Game #3: Portland storms back for a big 13-1 win. Gleyber Torres (11) and Brian Serven homer (5) for the bad guys. Kyle Freeland goes 7 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 7 ks for the win (3-5).
Game #4: Sticking to the script, the Explorers grab the 4th game, 3-1. Another Gleyber Torres (13) homer is the lone Lumber Jax run. Logan Gilbert, the bright spot on the Columbus staff gets the win and is now 6-2.
Game #5: Runs are now getting scarce but Portland scratches out 2 to 1 for Columbus in winning their 3rd game of the series. And it was a 9th inning Seiya Suzuki (3) homer that wins it. Zach Eflin did well in the starting role. 7.1 ip, 6 hits, 0 walks, 7 ks and 1 run.
Game #6: Portland tosses out the script and wins 2 games in a row in another rout, 9-1. Homers by C.J. Cron (11), 3rd of the series and Brian Serven (6), his 2nd of the series and a 3 run shot, pace the 12 hit attack.
Game #7: Well Columbus wasn’t happy after the last game so they get 3 in the 2nd and another in the 3rd and hang on for a 5-3 win in the finale. Luis Robert (5) homers for Portland and Giovanny Urshela ends the week still hitting will at .343 and he homers (4) in this one.
Summary: So Portland grabs the series win 4-3! And they head home to host Valdosta while Columbus has another week at home hosting Sacramento!

Harsens Island  Walleye @ Bethesda  Bandicoots

Game #1: The Walleye out-maneuver the Bandicoots 4-2.
Game #2: Justin Steele goes down for 23 days, but the Walleye mount a 15-hit attack for an easy 7-3 win.
Game #3: A spellbinding 3-0 win for Harsens.
Game #4: Bethesda outhits the Walleye 6-5 but no one can cross the plate as they go down for the 4th straight 3-0.
Game #5: Springs leads the Walleye 2-1 thriller.
Game #6: The sweep is completed with a 4-2 Walleye win.
Summary: The bright side in this series was that it didn’t go seven games.

Prairie  Falcons @ Valdosta  Snappers

Summary: The Snappers free fall continues as the Falcons take 6 of 7, including a marathon 19-inning game 7.

Corktown  Cycle @ Triple Creek  Patriots

Preview: Six game set between Cycle and Patriots.
Summary: Patriots take the first three games. A day off in the middle of the series helped Corktown reset and they snag the last three.

Tijuana  Bottle Rockets @ Southwest Detroit  Fighting Chihuahuas

Summary: Southwest Detroit Fighting Chihuahuas takes the series 4-2. some very close games.

Coconut Creek  Crushers @ Fremont  Cannons

Game #1: With the help of a costly Javier Baez error, Coconut Creek nickles-and-dimes their way to 7 runs in the second inning off of Sandy Alcantara. CCC wins 7-2 as Hunter Greene picks up the win.
Game #2: Fremont leaves 11 on base buts scores enough to win 4-2, with Garrett Whitlock picking up his first victory of the season.
Game #3: An unearned run is the difference as CCC wins 5-4, giving Aaron Civale his first win. Alec Bohm goes 4-4 with a HR.
Game #4: Sandy Alcantara gives up just 3 hits in seven innings. Max Stassi’s grand slam in the ninth doesn’t make a difference as Fremont wins 8-4.
Game #5: The best game of the series, Vladimir Guererro Jr’s two-run double caps off a 4 run comeback in the bottom of the ninth to tie it. Fremont gets a leadoff double from Austin Hays in the 10th but can’t get him home.

Wil Myers gets a pinch-run SB in the 11th and is brought home by PH Michael Toglia to give the Crushers a 7-6 lead. Josh Rojas singles and steals 2nd to lead off the bottom of the 11th, but former Cannon Dauri Moreta gets Carlos Correa and Shohei Ohtani out. After an IBB to Vladimir Guerrero Jr., he’s able to strike out PH Byron Buxton to win it. Fremont leaves 11 on base in the loss.

Game #6: This one is all Carlos Rodon as he strikes out 12 and doesn’t give up a hit until the 7th. Byron Buxton gets the 3-run HR he wanted at the end of game 5, but in the 1st inning of Game 6. Fremont wins 7-1, and still leaves 10 on base.
Summary: Fremont gets a disappointing split 3-3 with Coconut Creek.

Mesa  Solar Sox @ Yonge Street  Stalkers

Preview: Mesa heads north.
Game #1: Jeremy Pena put the home team on the board and into the lead with an RBI double in the bottom half of the first. Mesa responded. Taylor Ward hit a solo shot in the 2nd to knot the game at 1. Jesus Aguilar and Eddie Rosario went back to back in the 3rd, and Yan Gomes added his own in the 4th. Randal Grichuk hit a 3 run homer in the 6th to push the lead to 7-1 MSS. Jeremy Pena hit a 2 run HR in the 8th, Jorge Soler smacked a solo HR in the 9th. Kris Bryants 2 run double cut the lead to 7-6 but was stranded when Pena grounded out to end a wacky opener. MSS 7 – YSS 6
Game #2: Joey Meneses and Trea Turner homered and combined to plate 5. Cole pitched just well enough. YSS 7 – MSS 5
Game #3: Joc Pederson opened up the scoring with a 1st inning solo shot. Rowdy Tellez answered in the 2nd with an RBI single. MSS scored a 2nd run in the inning on a GIDP. That, my friends…was all the scoring. MSS 2 – YSS 1
Game #4: Estrada, Meneses and Kim each knocked home runs in support of Brady Singers strong outing. A Gunnar Henderson solo shot in the 8th and a single run in the 9th caused a bit of heartburn. YSS 3 – MSS 2
Game #5: Rutschman and Estrada both homered and plated 3. That was more than enough for Nestor Cortes. YSS 10 – MSS 3
Game #6: Eugenio Suarez, Chad Pinder, and Jesus Aguilar drove home a pair of runs apiece. MSS 6 – YSS 2
Game #7: Jeremy Pena and Nola knocked in runs with singles in the 5th. Mesa responded. Trevinos pinch hit 2 run 1B tied it in the 6th. Gunnar Henderson put it out of reach later in the inning with a 3 run blast. MSS 6 – YSS 2
Summary: A back and forth series. Mesa came out on the good end of the 4 to 3 result. As a reward, they’ll return home and welcome Chicago. Yonge Street heads to CCC.

Yucaipa Road Runners @ Sacramento  Capitals

Summary: Sacramento takes 5 of 6 from Yucaipa. Yucaipa’s sole victory was delivered by the former Sacramento All Star, Zach Greinke, who pitched 8.1 shutout innings for the win. We miss Greinke 🙁
