Southbend  Lynx @ Mesa  Solar Sox

Series Preview: Southbend in the title hunt. Mesa hanging around .500. Should be an easy series win for the Lynx.
Game #1: Nick Pivetta hurls a 2 hit shutout, striking out 14. See, I told you this would be easy!
Abraham Almonte with 2 homers, including a grand slam. Meadows adds one also. Lynx 7-0.
Game #2: Tim Anderson and Mitch Garver homer to lead Mesa back from an early 2-0 deficit. Christian Javier walks 5 and gives up 6 hits but is tough with runners on. He only gives up 2 runs in 6 innings. Bednar and Pressly finish off the 7-2 Mesa victory.
Game #3: Austin Wynns hits 2 homers and drives in 4 for Southbend. Max Muncy’s solo homer means all5 Lynx runs were driven in by the longball. Yan Gomes’ 2 homers was not enough. Lynx hold on to win 5-4.
Game #4: 3 more Southbend longballs (Fraley, Mayfield, and Bichette). Drew Streckenrider notches his 27th save in 88 games. Lynx easily, 5-1.
Game #5: Daniel Lynch is good for 7 innings of one run ball for Mesa. Duvall and Suarez homer. Mesa takes this one 6-1.
Game #6: Mesa wants the split, but Pivetta stood in the way with his 2nd series win, 5-3. Wynns goes deep again along with Jake Cave off loser Drew Smyly. 5-3 Lynx.
Series Summary: Southbend has all the answers. Mesa pitching gives up too many homers. Pivetta the series star with 2 wins, 16 ip, 8 hits allowed, and 2 runs allowed.

Tempe  Tempers @ Corktown  Cycle

Game #1: Corktown walks it off in 11. 2-1
Game #2: Tempe wins in the 1st inning. 11-0

Series Preview: Back to back.
Game #1: Flexen keeps on rolling. he gives up one run in a 6-2 CCC win. Is now 12-3 with a 1.96 ERA.
Nimmo goes down for 14 days.
Game #2: Burnes and Contreras carry SWD to a 6-4 win. Burnes gives up 1 run while Contreras drives in 4.
Game #3: Montgomery is dominant in a 5-0 SWD win. Diaz goes down for 13 days.
Game #4: Bader leads off the game with a HR for SWD. Musgrove then shuts down SWD for 10 innings. CCC wins it 2-1 in the bottom of the 11th.
Game #5: Civale pitches a good game and gets all the support he needs from O’Neill as CCC wins 4-2.
Game #6: Flexen only gives up 3 hits but Burnes only gives up 1. Burnes wins his 2nd game of the series for SWD 5-1. Sosa goes down for 8 days.
Series Summary: CCC manages to split the series despite being down 4 players by the last game.

Series Summary: To the surprise of no one, the caps sweep the 6-game set. Snappers hung in as much as they could but to no avail.

Series Preview: Chicago rolls into Cincinnati for its annual trip.
Series Summary: Cincinnati wins the first two games and watches as Chicago claims the final four games.

Virginia  Sluggers @ Fremont  Cannons

Series Preview: Fremont comes out of the break atop all of MWBL, while Virginia is in a rebuild.
Game #1: Rafael Devers’s 1st inning solo homer is the only hit Fremont starter Danny Duffy allows in 5 IP. Javier Baez puts Fremont in front 2-1 with a solo homer in the 4th off Luis Castillo. Baez homers again in the sixth, then the Cannons break it open with a 3-run seventh and a 3-run eighth. Fremont wins 9-1.

Game #2: Teoscar Hernandez singles in Byron Buxton in the first to start the scoring against Virginia’s Eli Morgan. Mike Yastrzemski homers in the second to make it 2-0. Yoan Moncada adds another solo homer in the 4th, then Mike Yastrzemski doubles home two in the fifth to make it 5-0. That would be all of the scoring, as Walker Buehler and Garrett Whitlock limit the Sluggers to 5 hits and 0 runs. Fremont wins 5-0.

Game #3: Facing his second batter of the game, Fremont starter Sandy Alcantara drills Jean Segura and knocks him out for 12 days. The Sluggers get fired up and score two in the frame. Fremont gets it back square with a run in the first and solo homer from Manuel Margot in the second. Yulieski Gurriel’s run-scoring single in the 4th puts Fremont on top, but Rafael Devers puts Virginia back in the lead with 2-run HR in the fifth.

Anthony Bender has a rough eight, with a leadoff walk followed by 2 HBP and an ejection. Virginia makes him pay by scoring two to go up 6-3. J.T. Chargois comes on for the save, but walks two after recording two outs to bring Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani brings the home crowd to its feet with a game-tying 3-run homer.

In the tenth, Jackie Bradley Jr. singles, then steals second. An errant throw from Kyle Higashioka keeps Bradley running all the way to third. With the infield drawn in, Brad Miller smashes one through to give the Sluggers the 7-6 lead. The Cannons go 1-2-3 in the tenth and Virginia secures their first win of the series.

Game #4: The Sluggers bats greet Fremont starter Tarik Skubal rather rudely with four runs in the first, with the big blow a 3-run HR from Eloy Jimenez. The Cannons get it all back in the second, aided by Vladimir Guerrero’s second triple of the season to tie it at 4-4. In the sixth, Javier Baez singles and steals second, then Mike Yastrzemski brings him home with a single to put Fremont up 5-4.

Garrett Whitlock comes in with the lead and promptly gives up homers to Whit Merrifield and Anthony Rizzo to put the Sluggers up 7-5. Fremont fails to get a baserunner on in the final three innings and falls 7-5.

Game #5: Yulieski Gurriel chugs home from a Teoscar Hernandez single in the second to put the Cannons up 1-0 off Virginia starter Wade LeBlanc. Rafael Devers stays hot and homers off of Dylan Bundy in the fifth to tie it at 1-1. Cavan Biggio then leads off the sixth with a solo HR to put the Sluggers up 2-1.

Fremont gets it back in the bottom of the frame as they string together some hits to tie it at 2-2, but George Springer guns down Shoehei Ohtani at the plate off an attempted sac fly for the double play. LeBlanc can’t take advantage of the reprieve, as Teoscar Hernandez and Carlos Correa hit back-to-back homers to give Fremont the 5-2 lead. The Cannons tack on another in the seventh to go up 6-2. Virginia scores one in the ninth but falls 6-3.

Game #6: Yoan Moncada leads off the Cannons with a solo HR in the first, and Austin Hays adds one in the second to put Fremont up 2-0. Virginia strings together a bunch of two out hits in the fourth and goes up 3-2. Rafael Devers homers for the 4th time in the series in the eighth to put Virginia up 4-2, but Byron Buxton’s PH HR in the bottom of the frame brings it back within one. Andrew Velazquez adds an insurance run with a solo HR in the ninth and Virginia takes the finale 5-3.

Series Summary: Virginia gets a surprising split and goes 5-7 against Fremont this season. The Cannons bullpen continues to give up too many homers despite good letters. Rafael Devers only has six hits in the series, but four of them are homers.

Series Preview: Dallas heads north to visit Yonge Street.
Series Summary: Holy Moley did Dallas kick the S&*T out of the home team. Seemingly everything went the Cougars way. The visitors took 5 of 6 in a scrappy series.
