Tampa Bay Expos @ Tempe Tempers
Preview:	Tampa Bay and Tempe both carry three-game losing streaks, so at least one team is guaranteed to stop the slide.
Game #1:	Abrue’s Baltimore special capped a 4-run first for Tempe. A couple more runs in the 2nd gave Tempe 6-0 lead and ended Baz’s day. Soto got the Expos on the board with a two-run homer in the 3rd. Soto went deep again in the 6th as Patrick gave up a couple more runs to make it a game. Tampa Bay added two more in the 8th to make a one-run game, but Munoz closed out the 9th. Tempe 8-7
Game #2:	An attractive fan ran onto the field after two outs in the 1st and gave Peralta a big hug that raised his grade to a 20. Tempe scored a run in the 1st and then added four more in the 4th as Abrue hit his second homer of the series. Ramirez doubled in two more in the 5th. Peralta pitched five perfect innings for the win. Tempe 8-2
Game #3:	Beavers led off the game with a solo home run. Ramirez tripled in a pair in the 3rd. Kwan and Springer each singled in runs in the 4th to send Gray to the showers. DeGrom pitched five hitless innings and turned it over to the pen with a large lead. The Expos rallied for three in the 7th to make it a two-run game. Frazier singled in a run in the 8th for a 6-3 lead, and Munoz picked up the save in the 9th Tempe 6-3
Game #4:	Some walks and poor fielding allowed three Expo runs in the 2nd. The Miz was dealing and went 8 scoreless innings with 11 SO before finally being touched in the 9th. Realmuto led off the bottom of the 9th with a solo on Miz, but Fairbanks came on and picked up the save. Tampa Bay 4-1
Game #5:	Kwan and Springer each hit solo homers in the 1st. Vasquez went deep in the 3rd, and Bichette added a solo in the 4th to tie it 2-2. D’Arnard then singled in a run to give Tampa Bay a 3-2 lead. Ozuna tied it up 3-3 with a solo in the 4th. In the 8th, Kwan singled, stole 2nd, and scored on a Ramirez single. Munoz closed out the 9th for his 25th save. Tempe 4-3
Game #6:	Tempe got on the board in the 2nd on a Realmuto RBI double. Tempers pulled off a delayed steal of home in the 3rd to go up 2-0. Moore and Bichette slapped RBI singles in the 5th to tie it up 2-2 and end Verlander’s day without a decision. Freeman’s solo homer in the 6th gave Tempe the lead and ended Baz’s day. Munoz came on in the 8th to try and lock down for his 4th save of the series. However, an error extended the inning, and the Expos rallied behind Altuve for three runs to go up 5-3. Springer led off the 8th with a homer. Freeman then singled and moved to 3rd when Abrue’s infield grounder was booted. Slater pinch ran for Freeman and scored the tying run on a Realmuto sac fly. 3-3. DeGrom pitched a scoreless top 9. In the bottom of the 9th, Albies led off with a single and then stole 2B. Ozuna singled to left with no outs, but Albies was gunned down at home by Woods. Both Gray and DeGrom put up zeroes over the next couple of innings. Finally, in the bottom of the 12th, Springer took Gray deep to end it. DeGrom pitched the final 4.1 innings out of the pen for his 14th win of the season. Tempe 6-5 12th
Summary:	Tempe scratches out three one-run victories and a 5-1 series win against Tampa Bay.

Coconut Creek Crushers @ Tijuana Bottle Rockets
Preview:	Tijuana hosts Coconut Creek for 6 games in a battle between 2 of the top teams in the American League.
Game #1:	The Crushers exploded for six runs in the first inning and never looked back, routing the Bottle Rockets 13-7 in the series opener. Logan Webb (9-1) cruised to his ninth straight win, while Tijuana starter Jake Latz (6-2) saw his six-game winning streak snapped. Giancarlo Stanton launched a two-run homer in the first, and Ivan Herrera added a two-run shot as part of a 16-hit attack. Agustin Ramirez homered for the Bottle Rockets in a losing effort.
Game #2:	Yainer Diaz delivered a stunning go-ahead grand slam in the top of the ninth inning, lifting the Crushers to a 7-6 comeback victory. Trailing 6-3 entering the ninth, Coconut Creek loaded the bases with two outs before Diaz crushed a Justin Lawrence offering over the left-field wall. Shawn Armstrong earned the win in relief, while Lawrence took the loss. Trea Turner and Corbin Carroll paced the Bottle Rockets’ offense in the heartbreaker.
Game #3:	The Bottle Rockets snapped their three-game skid behind a dominant start from Eury Perez (4-3) and two home runs from Pete Crow-Armstrong. Crow-Armstrong’s solo shot in the fourth and two-run blast in the seventh powered Tijuana to a 7-1 victory. Isaac Paredes also went deep for the home side. Hunter Greene (4-4) took the loss as the Crushers managed just four hits. Tijuana’s 3‑game losing streak came to a close.
Game #4:	In the longest game of the series, the Crushers outlasted the Bottle Rockets 4-3 in a 16‑inning marathon. The teams traded rallies late, with Tijuana tying it 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth on Isiah Kiner-Falefa’s two-out RBI single. Coconut Creek finally broke through in the 16th when Yainer Diaz’s groundout plated Brandon Nimmo. Matt Brash (1-0) earned the win, and Manuel Rodriguez (1-1) took the loss. Both teams combined to strand 25 runners.
Game #5:	Framber Valdez tossed eight shutout innings, and the Bottle Rockets blanked the Crushers 6-0 to cut the series deficit to 3-2. Valdez (6-4) extended his personal winning streak to six games, allowing just five hits while striking out seven. Junior Caminero launched a three-run homer in the first inning, and Pete Crow-Armstrong added a solo shot in the sixth. Spencer Schwellenbach (6-4) saw his six‑game win streak come to an end for Coconut Creek.
Game #6:	Jacob Latz tossed 5 innings of 2-run ball, and Junior Caminero doubled twice and drove in 4 runs, leading The Bottle Rockets to an easy 7-2 victory. Brendan Little and Caleb Thielbar both tossed 2 perfect innings in relief. The win earns them a hard-fought split in the series.
Summary:	Tijuana and Coconut Creek split the series, which featured a mix of blowouts and 1-run games.

Chicago Mobsters @ Fremont Cannons
Preview:	Chicago is looking to jump Tijuana into first place in the AL Central. Fremont tries to get back on top of the AL East after going 4 straight weeks without a series win.
Game #1:	Noah Cameron (CHI) vs Tarik Skubal (FRE) Last time out, Tarik Skubal pitched a no-hitter against Motor City, allowing just one baserunner. He extends the hitless streak into the fourth inning of this one, until Riley Greene’s double. He gets Yandy Diaz to ground out to strand the runner. Fremont gets going in the bottom of the inning. A walk and an infield single set up a two-run double for Yoan Moncada, and Fremont leads 2-0. Fremont adds an insurance run in the eighth after Mike Yastrezemski walks and a Shohei Ohtani double that scores him from first. Meanwhile, Skubal is cruising, with Greene the only baserunner. In the ninth, he gets Gabriel Moreno to line out, then Willy Adames strikes out, Skubal’s 12th K. A Xavier Edwards foul-out ends the game for a 3-0 Cannons victory. In his two most recent starts, Skubal has gone 18.0 IP with 0 R, 1 H, and 1 BB allowed, striking out 27. W: Tarik Skubal (8-4) L: Noah Cameron (7-2) HR: none
Game #2:	Jesus Luzardo (CHI) vs Sandy Alcantara (FRE) The Cannons waste no time getting started as Shohei Ohtani leads off the bottom of the first with a home run. Two batters later, Byron Buxton sends one over the fence to make it 2-0. Elly de la Cruz singles and steals second. A grounder from Teoscar Hernandez is thrown away by Luzardo, and ELDC scores to make it 3-0. A two-out double from Carlos Correa brings home Hernandez, and the Cannons take a 4-0 lead after one. Ohtani homers in consecutive innings, putting Fremont up 5-0 in the second. A double from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ends Luzardo’s day, but Guerrero Jr. does not score. Alcantara gets through five scoreless innings without a runner in scoring position and begins to show his confidence. It’s not until the eighth that Chicago is able to get something going. A leadoff walk from Jackson Chourio is followed by a Luis Arraez single. Gabriel Moreno singles in Chourio for the first Mobsters run. Alcantara is able to close out the inning, keeping it 5-1 Fremont. Heading into the ninth with the same score, Riley Greene leads off with a double. After a groundout, Alcantara strikes out Julio Rodriguez and Jackson Chourio to finish up the CG victory, winning 5-1. Ohtani’s 2-HR day puts him at 25 on the season. Alcantara’s ERA drops to 5.24. Game #3:	Hunter Brown (CHI) vs Carlos Rodon (FRE) A walk and hit-and-run in the first puts runners on the corners for Fremont, but Shohei Ohtani is thrown out at the plate on a grounder. A strikeout of Yoan Moncada keeps it scoreless. Fremont gets two on again in the third with a single and HBP, gut does not score. Chicago finally breaks the deadlock with a solo HR from Luis Arraez in the fifth to take a 1-0 lead. Fremont comes right back in the bottom of the inning, as a double from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. sets up a 2-run HR from Daylen Lile to make it 2-1 Cannons. Bo Naylor leads off the bottom of the seventh with a double. A bunt moves PR Teoscar Hernandez to third, then Ohtani is intentionally walked to put runners on the corners. The Cannons put on the hit-and-run, but Guerrero Jr. lines into a double play to end the inning. Fremont continues to put on the pressure. In the bottom of the eighth, PH Carlos Correa leads off with a single, them Elly de la Cruz walks. Aroldis Chapman gets a flyout, then walks Mike Yastrzemski to load the bases. Chapman strikes out Austin Hays and gets Luis Urias to pop out to keep the score at 2-1. Rodon gets the first two outs in the ninth, then Riley Greene doubles to put the tying run in scoring position. Yandy Diaz strikes out to end the game with a 2-1 Fremont win. Rodon throws the third straight CG for Fremont, allowing 4 H and 1 BB while striking out 6. Fremont had a few chances to break the game open but didn’t, leaving 9 on base. Game #4:	Logan Gilbert (CHI) vs Bailey Ober (FRE) This was a rough one for baserunners. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubles in the bottom of the first but is left stranded. Bo Naylor leads off the bottom of the third with a double but is picked off at second. Shohei Ohtani singled but was thrown out attempting to steal second. Julio Rodriguez walked in the top of the fourth but was thrown out attempting to steal second. Guerrero Jr. leads off the bottom of the fourth with a double. Daylen Lile singles him home but takes too big a turn past second after an error and is thrown out trying to get back. Teoscar Hernandez sends one over the fence to make it 2-0 Fremont. Mike Yastrzemski then doubles but is left stranded at second. In the top of the fifth, Jackson Chourio leads off with a single, and Luis Arraez follows with a walk. A Gabriel Moreno single brings in Chicago’s first run and puts runners on the corners, also denying Ober the grade bump. A sac fly from Willy Adames ties it 2-2, but a double play gets Ober out of the inning. The Mobsters strike again in the sixth with a solo HR from Alex Bregman to take the 3-2 lead. A walk and double put runners on second and third, but the Cannons are able to escape. Fremont leads off the bottom of the sixth with a pair of singles, but the runners are stranded. Garbiel Moreno doubles in the top of the seventh and is moved over by a bunt. Moreno doesn’t test Elly de la Cruz on a hard grounder and is left at third with a flyout. Carlos Correa leads off the bottom of the inning with a walk, but Luis Urias bunts it in the air, and the double play ends the inning. Guerrero Jr. singles in the bottom of the eighth, then PR Byron Buxton steals second. A walk to Daylen Lile puts another runner on, but the Cannons fail to capitalize. Chicago gets runners on second and third in the top of the ninth but can’t score an insurance run. Aroldis Chapman strikes out the side in the bottom of the ninth, and the Mobsters hold on to win 3-2. Guerrero Jr. goes 4-4 with two doubles in the loss. Gilbert gave up 9 hits in 5.0 innings but struck out 8 to limit the damage. Game #5:	Trevor Rogers (CHI) vs Carmen Mlodzinski (FRE) Xavier Edwards leads off the game for Chicago with a double, but is stranded. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. steps up in the bottom of the inning and socks one over the fence for the 1-0 Fremont lead. The Cannons get runners on the corners but are unable to score more. The Cannons add to the lead in the third with a Shohei Ohtani walk followed by back-to-back doubles from Guerrero Jr. and Byron Buxton. Gabriel Moreno leads off the top of the sixth with a double, but Mlodzinski gets the next three hitters to strand him and gain the grade bump. The Mobsters finally get on the board in the seventh, as a HBP to Julio Rodriguez is followed by Jackson Chourio’s two-run HR to cut the lead to 3-2. Joey Bart drops Luis Arraez’s popup, then Arraez steals second to put the tying run in scoring position. Gabriel Moreno flies out to end the threat. The Cannons were tempted to go for a 4th complete game win from a starter in the series, but decided to go to the bullpen for the ninth. Jared Koenig gets Riley Greene to strike out in the lefty matchup, then Robert Suarez gets Yandy Diaz out in a comebacker. Julio Rodriguez steps up as the final out and goes down swinging. Fremont takes it 3-2. Rogers goes 4.2 IP in his first loss of the season. A Luis Arraez single is followed by a steal and walk in the top of the third, but Willy Adames pops up a bunt into a double play, and the Mobsters stay scoreless. An error puts Shohei Ohtani on to lead off the bottom of the third, and a hit-and-run from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. puts runners on the corners. Guerrero Jr. moves to second on a groundout, then Elly de la Cruz scores him and Ohtani with a double. Cameron strikes out Yoan Moncada to strand ELDC. A walk and HBO put two on in the top of the fourth, but Skubal works his way out of it. Ohtani sends one to the wall in the fifth, but it is caught. Guerrero Jr. follows him but puts his over the wall to make it 4-0 Cannons. A Byron Buxton double does it for Cameron’s day, but Jesus Luzardo comes in and walks his first batter. He gets a flyout and groundout to keep the score where it is. A Joey Bart double in the bottom of the sixth leads to nothing. Chicago finally gets to Skubal in the seventh with a solo HR from Yandy Diaz. Skubal still seems on his way to another CG win, but with two outs in the eighth, an error from Moncada puts Xavier Edwards on. An infield hit puts Alex Bregman on, then Riley Greene doubles them both in to make it 4-3. Yandy Diaz singles Greene home, and we have a tie game, 4-4. Jhoan Duran takes over in the bottom of the inning and walks the first two batters. A successful bunt moves them over, then Duran walks another batter to load the bases. PH Carlos Correa sends it deep enough to score PR Mike Yastrzemski to give Fremont the 5-4 lead. A groundout from Ohtani keeps the inning from being bigger. After a long eighth inning, Skubal is replaced by Robert Suarez. Jackson Chourio sends one to the warning track but it is caught, then Suarez strikes out the next two batters to hold on to the 5-4 Cannons win. Only one of Skubal’s runs was earned, so he drops to a 2.09 ERA at the midpoint of the season. Guerrero Jr. homered on consecutive days. Summary:	The Cannons didn’t expect the Mobsters to give them the get-right series they were looking for, but Fremont gets the 5-1 series victory. There were four 1-run games, and the largest margin of victory was 4 runs. Chicago scored just 11 runs in 6 games and amassed just 25 hits. If the Mobsters’ offense can wake up in the second half and match their pitching, they could really take off. As it is, the Cannons move to within two games of Chicago in the standings. After the midseason break, the Mobsters head out west to Hollywood while the Cannons travel south to AL-leading Coconut Creek.

Long Beach Dirt Bags @ Columbus Explorers
Preview:	The playing over their heads, Explorers host the NL West cellar dwellers, who are in a race with Baltimore and a couple others for most balls (at least as we approach the midway point of the season).
Game #1:	Columbus scores 4 in the 5th for a 5-2 lead, but then give up 4 in the 7th to fall behind, 6-5. But then 2 in the bottom half and they’re up on top again, 7-6. Teams trade runs in the 8th and then Long Beach scores a tying run in the 9th! 3 blown saves through 9 innings! But a Nathan Lukes lead off walk-off homer in the 10 off Chris Flexen ends the drama with Columbus up 9-8! Dirt Bags homer from Leo Rivas (4). LBT 8-15-2 LP Flexen (4-4) BS Butto (1) (10 innings) COL 9-13-0 WP Herris (4-0) BS (1) BS Lee (1)
Game #2:	1 extra inning game was not enough for this series. Tyler Freeman singles in 2 in the 3rd and Trent Grisham follows with a 2 run shot (14) in the bottom half to tie the game. That’s all Garret Crochet would yield (3 hits in 9 innings). Javier Assad was equally as good giving up just those 2 runs (in 7 innings) and then the Columbus bullpen battled Crochet through 9 and kept the goose eggs going in the 10th. In the bottom half, a 2 out single by Luis Torrens scored the winning run for Columbus. LBT 2-4-0 LP Bender (0-2) (10 innings) COL 3-4-1 WP Bernardino (5-2)
Game #3:	This game was close, 3-1 Columbus, until the Explorers breakout in the 6th for 4 runs. Explorers use 4 long balls for their 7 runs. Dirt Bags score 2 in the 7th to make the score look at bit closer, but Burrows and reliever Bowlan each game up 2 dingers – Bowlan did it face 5 batters in the 6th – he came on that inning and faced 5 batters, 3 walks, 2 homers, 4 runs. Wil Warren had another good outing, this time with run support. LBT 3- 8-0 LP Burrows (3-7) COL 7-10-1 WP Warren (3-8)
Game #4:	Another not close game but this time it was Columbus hurler David Peterson getting clobbered (4.2 innings, 8 hits, 5 walks, 3 homers, 7 runs)! His relief didn’t do much better – 4 more runs! Big guns – Tyler Soderstrom goes 3 for 5, 2 doubles, a homer (15) and 4 rbis! Joey Ortiz closely follows with a 2 for 5 day (and 3ks) and a homer (4) and 3 rbis. Miguel Vargas also homers (12) and has 3 hits, 2 runs and a walk. Starter Randy Vazquez goes 6, 4 hits, NO runs, 7 ks. The bullpen gives up the 3 runs Columbus scores – but it wasn’t a CLOSE. Game #5:	A 3rd extra inning game? Yes. Columbus starter Mitchel Parker has his 2nd straight strong outing. He gives up 5 hits in 6 innings, 1 run, an rbi single from Tyler Soderstrom in the 3rd. That tied the game at 1-1, but Columbus gets single runs in the 3rd and 5th to grab a 3-1 lead. Then in the 7th, Columbus replaces Parker with Robert Garcia and he gives up a 2 out 2 run homer to Jeremy Pena (5). Garcia then settled and we head to OT (or extra innings). 10th blank, Uribe has to pitch the 11th – blank. Woodruff has to pitch the 11th. Brett Harris draws a walk. Game #6:	Lots of excitement early, then even more late. Shane Smith off to a shaky starts gives up 3 runs in the 1st. However, his team gets 4 back in the 2nd for the Columbus 4-3 lead. Jake Irvin, the Long Beach starter, seemed to recover for the 4 runs in the 2nd, but in the 7th, he implodes and the Explorers plate 6 more runs. Irvin gives up 9 hits and 2 homers – both 2 run shots to Trent Grisham (15) and Nathan Lukes (11). Down 10-3, but Dirt Bags get a 2 run homer from Tyler Soderstrom (16) in a 3 run 8th to make it 10-6. But that was all they could do. LBT 6-11-1 LP Irvin (2-9) COL 10-13-0 WP Smith (7-2)
Summary:	Well we manage to just get enough in 3 games, get washed in 1 and take charge handily in the 2 for a 5-1 series win. We’ll take, we need to win these games – but we face Sacramento on the other side of the all-star break.

Sacramento Capitals @ Triple Creek Patriots
Preview:	Couple division leaders going at it for 6.
Game #1:	Triple Creek takes the opener with some late inning action. This will become the theme of the series. Yelich, Bellinger and Kelly all with Patriot long balls helped eek out the W. SC 3 TCP 5 W: Vargas (1-1) L: Glasnow (6-3) S: Henderson (8)

Game #4:	All Capitals as Sale spins a 3 hit shutout and Busch delivers a 3-run bomb. SC 4 TCP 0 W: Sales (11-1) L: Gausman (7-4)
Game #5:	Up 6-2 heading in to the top of the 9th Triple Creek sees the wheels fall off as Strahm gets smoked for 4 runs. With the pen gassed they turn to Ferrer who also gets smoked. Yikes. Game #6:	Glasnow vs Lorenzen was a battle. Both pitchers tossed doughnuts through 8 innings. Capitals finally break through in the 8th after Marsee hits a PH triple and Fermin gets him in. Triple Creek’s Bellinger leads off the 9th with a solo shot to tie it, bringing in Winn to relieve. He walks Kelly and Neto, pinch-hitting for Gurriel, smashes a 2-run walk-off. SC 1 TCP 3 W: Lorenzen (7-6) L: Winn (2-3)
Summary:	Good series with lots of close games goes to Sac 4-2.

Alamo Defenders @ Valdosta Snappers
Preview:	Alamo heads east to Valdosta.
Summary:	Alamo dominated, winning all but the last game. At least the Snappers are shaping up to be a bit more competitive next season.

Selkirk Steelers @ Detroit Crime
Summary:	Selkirk takes game number one, but then drops four straight to the hometown Crime.

Prairie Falcons @ Bethesda Bandicoots
