Game #3:	CCC offense erupts for 17 hits and cruises to a 9-4 win.
Game #4:	Another 17 hits as CCC rolls to a 15-2 win.
Game #5:	Two errors by Holliday allow two unearned runs. That is the difference in the game as CCC wins 9-7.
Game #6:	Nailbiter all the way through. CCC manages to win 4-3 in 17 innings. No bullpens left to start the next series for either team.
Summary:	MCM hit some big homers, but not enough overall hits to keep up in this series. CCC bullied their way to a 5-1 series win.

Game #1:	Soderstrom’s solo homer gave the Dirt Bags an early lead. Poor defense allowed Tempe to tie it in the 2nd and a solo shot by Ozuna in the 3rd gave Tempe a 2-1 lead. Verlander couldn’t hold it as Long Beach grab two in the 4th. Crochett left in the 8th with 10 SO and Woodruff recorded the final six outs for the save. Long Beach 3-2
Game #2:	Ramirez’s two run homer in the 4th tied it and Crawford walked it off with a homer off Bender in the bottom of the 9th. Tempe 3-2
Game #3:	Tempe loaded the bases in the 4th, but Vasquez got his control back just in time. In the 6th, Ramirez walked, stole 2nd and scored the first run of game on a Freeman single. Abrue then added a homer to make 3-0. Munoz picked up a four out save. Tempe 3-0
Game #4:	Pitchers duel between Cecconi and DeGrom. An error by Crawford allowed Long Beach to take a 1-0 lead in the 5th. Tempe tied it in the 8th on Mateo’s legs. He stole 2nd, 3rd, and beat a throw home on an infield grounder. Ortiz’s two out single in the 9th off Suarez put the Dirt Bags up 2-1 and Bender locked this one down. Cecconi only gave up two hits over 8 innings. Long Beach 2-1
Game #5:	Verlander struck out 15…but he was pounded in between those strikeouts. Soderstrom, Pena and Teel all took him deep. Long Beach 9-4
Game #6:	Ortiz’s three run homer in the 2nd was all Crochet needed as he went the distance and racked up 16 SO. Long Beach 7-2
Summary:	Long Beach came into Tempe and took the series 4-2 as they completely shutdown the number one offense in MWBL. Crochet should have a good shot at pitcher of the week going 2-0 with 26 SO in 16 IP.

Tijuana Bottle Rockets @ Columbus Explorers
Preview:	Not sure why, but I was thinking I was playing Valdosta until I realized I wasn’t – we were hosting Tijuana for the very first time! Welcome, and we hope you like Yogi Berra!
Game #1:	Shane Smith (7 ip) and bullpen hold the Bottle Rockets to 4 hits – there was a 2 run Caminero homer (10) and a Wells homer (6) – both in the 6th to make the most of those 4 hits. And it was way more than enough because Jake Latz throws an impressive CG 1 hitter, with 2 walks and 9 ks. He was the hero. TIJ 4-4-0 WP Latz (3-1) COL 0-1-0 LP Smith (3-1) This is more like what we’re expecting the season to be…..
Game #2:	Oh by – another game with limited Columbus offense. 4 hits produce 1 run as Luis Gil goes 6 giving up 3 hits and the 1 run. This time, the Bottle Rockets blasted 10 hits – 3 by IKF who had a run and rbi. Both teams score 1 in the 2nd and then Tijuana plates another in the 4th – and that was all the scoring….but it was enough for the BRs! TIJ 2-10-1 WP Gil (2-1) S Lawrence (5) COL 1- 4-0 LP Gomez (3-3) he did get 11 ks in a strong but not supported outing. We have too many part-timers to rest. But it’s fun.
Game #3:	David Peterson has been having a rough season. And this game was no different. After getting a 1-0 lead after 2, he gives up a 2 run triple to Corbin Carrol in the 3rd. Then Peterson gets some big help in the 7th when Pedro Pages smashes a 2 run homer (4) to give the Explorers the 3-2 lead!! Then in the 8th, that Carroll guys strikes back with a bigger hit, a game tying solo homer (5). Peterson not thrilled but still supportive. Then in the bottom of the 9th with Cole Sulser on the mound, Pages singles, Meadows in to PR and Jake McCarthy unloads for a walk-off 2 run homer (3) as Columbus comes back to win 5-3! TIJ 3-4-0 LP Sulser (3-2) COL 5-9-0 WP Uribe (1-0)
Game #4:	Yogi Berra would say “deja vu, all over again” and he’d almost be right. Columbus gets a run off Cristopher Sanchez in the 4th. That was all Sanchez would give up in 8 ip, 5 hits, 8ks. His counterpart, Will Warren, involved in a big preseason trade, was on the hill for Columbus still looking for his 1st win. And today looked like it might just be the day! 7 innings of scoreless ball, almost hitless, but then with 1 out in the 8th, de ja vu strikes when Corbin Carroll again unloads for a big game tying solo homer (6). Ugh. Warren did well, but couldn’t get support – seems like a lot of starter faced that issue this week. However, there was a twist in the plot, the game did not end with a walk-off homer in the 9th! It went into free baseball land. Jake McCarthy did lead off in the bottom of the 10th – but he flew out. Caleb Thielbar was on the mound this time and Chase Meidroth singled, but Pages then popped out. Trent Grisham up, who’s been rather scarce in the hitting department since the opening week, finds his grove and again we have a 2 run walk-off homer (5) to end the game! All over again!! Game #5:	These scores are looking very 1968ish as game 5 starts and Columbus manages to score 1 run in the 1st, should have been more, but the hits don’t happen. But then in the 3rd we manage to put together a string of hits and score 3 more runs! This should be easy to hold especially wiht Mitchell Parker on the mound – what, did you say Parker, oh boy! But yes, Parker is having a career day, sort of. He’s giving up lots of hits, but stranding guys, getting ks when needed, but a Kiki Hernandez error in the 6th lets Tijuana get on the scoreboard – but it’s unearned so Parker is not phased. Well not phased until the 8th when he gives up a 2 out homer to Augustin Ramirez (3) making it 4-2. We let him go one more batter and he gives up a hit to PH Jones – so out he goes and Uribe comes in for the 4 out save, which he gets. Shocker! Summary:	Well after dropping the opening two, we caught a lightning bolt and won the final 3 (games 3 and 4 were unreal). Not sure how this is happening, but we are staying above .500 which ruins the draft plans – but there is still time left. And next week we start a road trip at Bethesda – reality will most likely set in!
