Chicago Mobsters: 80% chance to win the series
Motor City Muscle: 20% chance to win the seriesThe Mobsters are heavy favorites, given their record and momentum. The Muscle will need a near-perfect performance to pull off an upset.
Game #1: The Chicago Mobsters exploded for six runs in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to a dominant 14-4 win over the Motor City Muscle. Yordan Alvarez got things started with a two-run homer, followed by Matt Wallner and Riley Greene each launching two-run shots of their own in the opening frame. Chicago’s offense kept rolling, with Wallner adding another home run in the seventh and Gary Sanchez delivering a pinch-hit two-run blast in the eighth. Bowden Francis was sharp on the mound, allowing just two earned runs over five innings while striking out six to earn his ninth win of the season. Motor City managed to cut the deficit to 7-4 in the sixth, but the Mobsters responded with seven unanswered runs to put the game out of reach. Ryan Yarbrough closed out the final three innings for his second save. Chicago’s bats tallied five home runs in a statement victory.

Final Score: Chicago 14 – Motor City 4

Win: Bowden Francis 9-1 (2.47)
Loss: Paul Blackburn 5-6 (5.40)
Save: Ryan Yarbrough #2

Game #2: The Chicago Mobsters pulled off a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Motor City Muscle in 10 innings. The game was a classic pitchers’ duel early, with both starters—Logan Gilbert for Chicago and Keider Montero for Motor City—dominating through five scoreless frames. Motor City broke through in the 6th, scoring twice on a sac fly and an RBI double. Chicago was held in check until the bottom of the 9th, when Julio Rodriguez blasted a two-run homer to tie the game and force extras. In the bottom of the 10th, Matt Wallner delivered the walk-off moment, launching a solo home run off Kyle Freeland to seal the win for Chicago. Porter Hodge earned the victory in relief, while Freeland took the loss. Both teams showcased strong pitching and timely hitting, but Chicago’s late-inning heroics made the difference.

Final Score: Chicago 3 – Motor City 2 (10 Innings)

Win: Porter Hodge 1-1 (1.73)
Loss: Kyle Freeland 0-2 (4.15)

Game #3: The Motor City Muscle jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, capitalizing on two errors by Chicago catcher Gary Sánchez and a two-run homer by Oneil Cruz. However, Chicago’s Bryce Miller settled in, striking out 12 over 6.1 innings and keeping the Muscle bats quiet. The Mobsters tied the game in the third, thanks to clutch hits from Luis Arraez and Alex Bregman. In the fifth, Chicago broke the tie, taking advantage of wildness from David Festa and timely hitting, pushing across three runs to make it 5-2. Despite some defensive miscues, the Mobsters’ bullpen held strong, with Brant Hurter and Aroldis Chapman closing the door. Motor City rallied in the ninth, scoring once and bringing the tying run to the plate, but Chapman induced a groundout to end it. Chicago’s offense and pitching proved just enough to secure the win.

Final Score: Chicago 5 – Motor City 3

Win: Bryce Miller 8-4 (2.01)
Loss: David Festa 2-7 (6.75)
Save: Aroldis Chapman #21

Game #4: In an extra-inning contest, the Chicago Mobsters edged the Motor City Muscle 4-3 in 11 innings. The Mobsters jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the third, thanks to RBI hits from Yordan Alvarez and Alex Bregman. Motor City answered with a solo homer from Lawrence Butler in the fourth, but Chicago tacked on another run in the sixth to make it 3-1. The Muscle chipped away, scoring in the seventh and then tying the game in the ninth after a costly error by Luis Arraez. Both bullpens held strong through the 10th, but in the bottom of the 11th, Riley Greene walked, stole second, and scored the winning run on a Gabriel Moreno grounder that was misplayed. Ryan Yarbrough earned the win in relief, while Beau Brieske took the loss for Motor City. The Mobsters’ resilience and timely hitting proved decisive in this hard-fought matchup.

Final Score: Chicago 4 – Motor City 3 (11 Innings)

Win: Ryan Yarbrough 4-1 (1.88)
Loss: Beau Brieske 2-6 (5.34)

Game #5: The Chicago Mobsters erupted for a seven-run fourth inning, highlighted by Yandy Díaz’s three-run homer, to seize control in a 12-7 win over the Motor City Muscle. After falling behind 1-0 in the third, Chicago’s offense came alive, stringing together hits and capitalizing on Motor City errors. Luis Arraez collected four hits and Díaz drove in four runs, while Dylan Moore added a three-run blast in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Bowden Francis pitched 5.2 strong innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out six to earn his 10th win of the season. Motor City rallied for six runs in the final three innings, but the deficit was too great to overcome. The victory was marred by a costly collision in the outfield, as both Dylan Moore and Matt Wallner were injured and placed on the 10-day IL—a significant blow to the Mobsters’ lineup.
Big Injury News: Dylan Moore and Matt Wallner (Chicago) both placed on 10-Day IL after collision.Final Score: Chicago 12 – Motor City 7
Win: Bowden Francis 10-1 (2.40)
Loss: Casey Mize 4-5 (4.80)
Game #6: The Motor City Muscle edged out the Chicago Mobsters in a thrilling 5-4 victory. The Muscle jumped out early, scoring three runs in the second inning, highlighted by Jo Adell’s two-run triple and Ceddanne Rafaela’s RBI single. Hunter Brown was electric for Chicago, striking out the first nine outs he recorded and finishing with 12 strikeouts over seven innings, but he also allowed four runs. The Mobsters chipped away, with Jackson Chourio and Alex Bregman homering, but Motor City’s offense kept pace, including a solo shot from Miguel Amaya and a late homer by Rhys Hoskins. In the ninth, Bregman’s two-run blast brought Chicago within one, but Luis Garcia closed the door for his first save. Paul Blackburn earned the win, working seven strong innings and escaping several jams. Despite Brown’s historic strikeout start, the Muscle’s timely hitting proved decisive.
Hunter Brown’s first 9 outs were all recorded as strikeouts.Final Score: Motor City 5 – Chicago 4
Win: Paul Blackburn 6-6 (5.19)
Loss: Hunter Brown 2-4 (3.54)
Save: Luis Garcia #1
Summary: The Chicago Mobsters continued their dominant season by taking five of six games from the struggling Motor City Muscle, further cementing their status as American League frontrunners. Chicago’s potent offense was on full display, erupting for double-digit runs twice, including a 14-4 rout fueled by five home runs and a 12-7 victory highlighted by a seven-run fourth inning and a three-run blast from Yandy Díaz. The Mobsters’ lineup featured contributions up and down the order, with Luis Arraez collecting four hits in one game and Matt Wallner, Yordan Alvarez, and Riley Greene all delivering key home runs throughout the series.

Pitching was equally impressive for Chicago, as Bowden Francis notched his ninth and tenth wins, and Bryce Miller struck out 12 in a gritty 5-3 win. The bullpen held strong in tight spots, with Ryan Yarbrough and Aroldis Chapman closing out close contests. The Mobsters twice walked off Motor City in extra innings, including a dramatic 10th-inning homer by Wallner and an 11th-inning rally sparked by Riley Greene’s speed and hustle.

Despite the lopsided series, Motor City showed resilience, salvaging the finale with a 5-4 win behind Paul Blackburn’s strong start and timely hitting from Jo Adell and Rhys Hoskins. The Muscle also pushed Chicago to the brink in multiple extra-inning games, capitalizing on defensive miscues and late rallies.

A major storyline emerged with injuries to Dylan Moore and Matt Wallner, both placed on the 10-day IL after a collision, potentially impacting Chicago’s depth moving forward. Hunter Brown’s electric start—recording his first nine outs via strikeout—was another highlight, even in defeat.

Overall, the Mobsters’ combination of explosive offense, deep pitching, and late-game heroics proved too much for Motor City, reinforcing Chicago’s status as a championship contender while the Muscle look to regroup for the remainder of the season.

Baltimore  Comets @ Tempe  Tempers

Preview: Tempe hosts Baltimore for six games looking to regain their form after a tough series with Bethesda last week.
Game #1: Pitchers duel between Soriano and Williams allowed very few base runners. Tempe missed scoring in the second when Freeman walked, stole second base, but was thrown out at home by Mitchell. Baltimore had an opportunity in the 8th, when they loaded the bases with just one out, but Munoz came on and bailed out the Tempers. Soriano finally gave up a run when Ramirez took him deep with two outs in the 9th for the walk-off homer.
Tempe 1-0 Walk-Off
Game #2: The Comets took an early 2-0 lead with a run in the 1st (Lanarch RBI single) and a run in the 2nd (Ruiz rbi double). Abrue hit a solo in 2nd that made it a one run game. Tempe rallied for four runs in the 6th after an error extended the inning. Comets got two in the 7th and one in the 8th to tie it. Kwan solo in bottom of the 8th gave Tempe the lead and Muno closed out the 9th.
Tempe 6-5
Game #3: Stone pitched eight solid innings against his old team, but missed getting the win when he allowed a two run homer to Freeman that tied the score 4-4 in the 6th. Tempe went to the pen after the 5th and it cost them when their last pitcher Little was forced to pitch the final three innings. The Comets scored two runs on a tired Little in the 11th and Rogers locked down the win.
Baltimore 6-4 11 Innings
Game #4: Williams gave up two hits over seven scoreless innings. Montas gave up 10 hits in six innings, but managed to only give up a few runs as he stranded lots of bases runners. The Comets rallied in the 9th for two runs, but Munoz came on to get the final out and the save.
Tempe 4-2
Game #5: Polanco’s rbi single in 5th was the first run of the game and gave the Comets an early lead. Ramirez hit a two run homer in 6th that stopped Cannon’s shutout attempt. Ruiz took Minter deep in 7th to tie it 2-2. Mitchell tripled in the 8th and Larnach got him home with a sac fly that put Baltimore up 3-2. Tempe threatened in the 8th, but Kerkering came on and got Albies to line into a double play. In the bottom of the 9th, Rameriz doubled off Kerkering, Freeman walked and Abreu took one for the team to load the bases with no outs. Frazier singled to shallow RF to tie it 3-3. The next batter Peralta, just missed a grandslam, but the deep fly allowed Freeman to tag and score the winning run.
Tempe 4-3 Walk-Off
Game #6: Soriano was pitching another great game until he gave up two run homers to both Kwan and Ramirez in the 5th. Tempe added another six runs in the later innings after Soriano left the game. Stripling avoided the free passes which allowed him to pitch around seven hits for the shutout.
Tempe 10-0
Summary: Tempe utilized two walk-off wins to grab five of six games for a nice bounce back series. Baltimore’s pitching gave them a shot to win five of the six games, but they really struggled on offense.

Triple Creek  Patriots @ Bethesda  Bandicoots

Summary: Triple Creek pulls away a little farther from Bethesda after winning 4 of 6 games. The difference in the series was likely the bullpens where other than giving up a grand slam in the final game was easily a huge advantage for the Patriots.

Summary: Tijuana takes the series 5-1.

Cincinnati  Skyliners @ Harsens Island  Walleye

Summary: The Walleye take 5 of 6

Coconut Creek  Crushers @ Fremont  Cannons

Preview: Best in the East vs best in the West. We appear to know the top 4 teams in the AL, but in what order will they finish?
Game #1: Spencer Schwellenbach (CCC) vs Jared Koenig (FRE)

New acquisition Jared Koenig is thrown straight into the fire with a start against Coconut Creek. A good start to the series for Fremont as Elly de la Cruz leads off Fremont with a homer. Coconut Creek ties it in the third when Josh H. Smith’s two-out double brings in Ivan Herrera. The Crushers go on top in the fourth with more two-out clutchness, as Willi Castro singles and steals and is brought home on a Yainer Diaz single.

Schwellenbach is under pressure in the fifth after a leadoff triple, but shuts down the side after. A walk and steal by Shohei Ohtani in the sixth leads to the tying run after Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s RBI single. Anthony Santander ends Koenig’s day in the 8th with a solo shot to put CCC up 3-2. The Crushers look to put the game away with runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out, but a fly out to Mike Yastrzemski and subsequent throw-out of Matt Olson at home keeps the margin at one. Shohei Ohtani leads off the bottom of the ninth with a HR and Fremont gets the score even at 3-3 and sends the game to extra innings.

CCC goes three-up three-down in the tenth, then Nolan Gorman ends the tension with walk-off HR in the tenth to win it for Fremont. Final score 4-3 Fremont in the 10th.

W: Sean Reid-Foley (5-1)
L: Cade Smith (6-2)

HR: CCC- Anthony Santander (24); FRE- Elly de la Cruz (17), Shohei Ohtani (28), Nolan Gorman (13)

Game #2: Erick Fedde (CCC) vs Osvaldo Bido (FRE)

Fremont’s other new acquisition, Osvaldo Bido, gets the nod as the opener and gives up the opening run after a single and steal by Brandon Marsh is followed by an RBI double from Matt Olson. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubles and Byron Buxton singles him home in the bottom of the first to tie it at 1-1. A Josh Rojas RBI single and David Hensley squeeze bunt brings in two more for the Cannons in the second.

Brandon Marsh leads off the third with a double off of bulk pitcher Kumar Rocker, and comes home on an Anthony Santander single. Fremont gets the run back in the bottom of the inning with Shohei Ohtani’s single and steal followed by another RBI single from Byron Buxton. In the sixth, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s RBI single gives Fremont the 5-2 lead.

Coconut Creek responds immediately in the top of the seventh with two runs. In the top of the eighth, the Crushers threaten with runners on 2nd and 3rd. A grounder to Elly de la Cruz leads to a throwing error at home plate and CCC ties the game at 5 each. Neither side does much in regulation thereafter, and we go to extra innings. Both teams do little in the tenth.

With two outs and a runner on second in the top of the eleventh, Sean Reid-Foley comes in and walks the bases full. A grounder to Nolan Gorman looks to end the inning, but another throwing error costs the Cannons as two runs score. Reid-Foley is stunned, and gives up a three-run homer on the next pitch to Matt Olson and the Crushers take a huge 10-5 lead. David Robertson sets the Cannons down in order and CCC wins 10-5 in the eleventh off of six unearned runs. Olson finishes with a 4-RBI day.

W: Mason Miller (4-3)
L: Robert Suarez (6-2)

HR: CCC- Matt Olson (16); FRE- none

Game #3: Logan Webb (CCC) vs Tarik Skubal (FRE)

The Crushers get to Skubal early with a two-run HR from Matt Olson in the top of the first. Webb also has a rough first inning as a walk and HBP and his own throwing error leads to Fremont’s first run. Webb loads the bases in the second, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singles in two to put Fremont ahead 3-2. Webb loads the bases again in the fifth with his second hit batsman, and Mike Yastrzemski makes him pay dearly with a grand slam and Fremont goes up 7-2.

Derek Law comes in for CCC in the sixth and gets tossed after hitting Ohtani with a pitch. The Cannons bring one in off of a Carlos Correa RBI single. The second HBP of the inning sees Michel Otanez also ejected. Yastrzemski sees his second bases-loaded at-bat in as many innings, but strikes out this time. A Shohei Ohtani RBI single in the seventh and a Carlos Correa solo HR in the eighth increases the lead to 10-2, which would be the final score.

W: Tarik Skubal (11-2)
L: Logan Webb (16-3)

HR: CCC- Matt Olson (17); FRE- Carlos Correa (8), Mike Yastrzemski (13)

Game #4: Blake Snell (CCC) vs Bailey Ober (FRE)

Fremont gets runners in scoring position in the first and second innings, but it wouldn’t be until the third inning that they would get on the board. A Josh H. Smith throwing error with two outs proves costly as it sets up a Teoscar Hernandez 3-run HR. A Joey Bart solo HR in the fourth extends the lead to 4-0.

Brandon Nimmo finally gets the Crushers going in the fifth with a solo HR. A two-run HR from Anthony Santander in the following inning cuts the Fremont lead to 4-2. Coconut Creek gets two more on, but Fremont sticks with Ober and he gets the next two batters to strike out. A leadoff triple from Elly de la Cruz is wasted by Fremont in the bottom half of the inning.

Nico Hoerner tries for his own leadoff triple in the seventh but is gunned down by Austin Hays. A leadoff double from Jose Iglesias in the bottom of the seventh sets up an RBI single from Carlos Correa, who advances to second on the throw. Teoscar Hernandez singles him in and Fremont extends the lead to 6-3. Ober gives up a leadoff walk in the ninth, then Edwin Uceta comes in and gets the next three batters out for the save. Fremont wins 6-3. Ober strikes out 12 in 8.1 IP.

W: Bailey Ober (9-4)
L: Blake Snell (6-4)
S: Edwin Uceta (12)

HR: CCC- Anthony Santander (25), Brandon Nimmo (12); FRE- Teoscar Hernandez (2), Joey Bart (4)

Game #5: Hunter Greene (CCC) vs Carlos Rodon (FRE)

Coconut Creek starts off with two straight singles against Carlos Rodon in the first but he bounces back to strike out the side. Shohei Ohtani walks and steals in the bottom of the inning but is stranded. CCC gets another runner in scoring position in the second but is denied. Alec Bohm leads off the fourth with a double but the Crushers can’t bring him in. Fremont gets its first base hit with two outs in the fifth, but we go to the sixth still scoreless.

A Matt Olson double gives the Crushers another chance with a runner in scoring position, but they come up empty again. Shohei Ohtani leads off the bottom of the sixth with a solo HR for the game’s first run and Fremont leads 1-0. It looked like the Cannons could add to the lead after Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s double, but they can’t get it done.

A walk and infield single with no outs in the eighth puts runners on 2nd and 1st in the eighth for Coconut Creek. Fremont elects to stick with Rodon, and he gets a lineout and a double play to end the threat. The Crushers threaten again in the ninth, as Rodon gives up two walks right away and gets pulled. Sean Reid-Foley comes in and gets a fly out and two ground outs, and Fremont wins the pitchers’ duel 1-0. Both starters struck out 10.

W: Carlos Rodon (9-7)
L: Hunter Greene (5-8)
S: Sean Reid-Foley (5)

HR: CCC- none; FRE- Shohei Ohtani (29)

Game #6: Edward Cabrera (CCC) vs Osvaldo Bido (FRE)

Carlos Correa gets the scoring started with a solo HR in the bottom of the second. The Cannons get two on with no outs in the fourth but are thwarted. Correa triples in the sixth and is replaced by pinch-runner Dairon Blanco. The move pays off with Byron Buxton’s sac fly giving Fremont the 2-0 lead.

Nico Hoerner’s two out double in the eighth gives Coconut Creek a chance, and Teoscar Hernandez drops the third out leading to a Crusher run. Jared Koenig gets pinch-hitter Yainer Diaz to fly out to end the threat. Fremont gets two on in the bottom of the inning but can’t score the insurance run. Matt Olson gets a one-out double in the ninth, but Robert Suarez gets the last two batters and Fremont wins 2-1.

W: Kumar Rocker (2-0)
L: Edward Cabrera (5-3)
S: Robert Suarez (3)

HR: CCC- none; FRE- Carlos Correa (9)

Summary: Fremont takes the series 5-1, though the games were closer than the outcomes. Next week, Coconut Creek expects a better outcome against Motor City, while Fremont hosts another top 4 matchup with Detroit.
