Harsens Island  Walleye @ Titusville  Super Sonics

Preview: Harsens Island Walleye visit the Titusville Super Sonics after the short break from action.
Summary: A hotly contested series between the two teams saw the Super Sonics take four out of the six games from the Walleye. Luis Gil in his two starts combined for twenty two strikeouts while Tanner Houck went the distance yet again for another complete game shutout. An entertaining series indeed.

Chicago  Mobsters @ Southwest Detroit  Fighting Chihuahuas

Summary: CHI Wins 5 of 6 from SWD.

Prairie  Falcons @ Tempe  Tempers

Preview: Prairie on a 10 game losing streak Tempe is just Tempe rolling down hill with nothing in the way to stop them.
Game #1: Game over before 2 outs in the first as it was 4-0 Tempe and 12-1 the final…  UGLY!
Game #2: TEM 9 – PRA 3 up to 12 game losing streak.
Game #3: Close one – gave Tempe the heebie Jeebies when Story and Burger went yard but they still doubled up the Birds. TEM 4 – PRA 2
Game #4: Another nailbiter as Trout pulled us within 1 in the 8th but that was it.
Poof went the 9th and TEM 6-PRA 4 losing streak extends to 14.
Game #5: 3rd 2 run loss in a row as again it is 4-2 TEM.
Game #6: Well that was so impressive doing it 3 straight games we decided to do it one last time TEM 3 – PRA 1…16th loss in a row.
Summary: This is the easiest way to SUM this series up…we were tied for 2 innings —-the entire F%^^%KING series 1st inning in Game 2 and then the 3rd inning in Game 6….That;s it…the other 52 innings we were losing….Take the 2024 White Sox and 20225 Rockies!!!!! You got nothing on Priarie..

By the way we are considering filing a protest for the Commishioners lack of compassion…who the hell takes a team like mine and forces them to paly Tempe 13 consecutive times…I dont think he needs anything added to his accomplishments….

Next week…who the hell cares about next week I hope Tempe has to play the Dodgers or the 27 Yankees
– or even the New England Patriots under Belichek 13 straight times and if I were playing Falcons next week I wouldnt want to be because eventually we are going to get lucky and you dont want to the one who lets us break the streak….

Game #6: YUC 8-3
Summary: TBE wins the series 4-2

Detroit  Crime @ Hollywood  Werewolves

Summary: In a hard fought series between a first place ALC team and the last place ALW team. Hollywood takes the first 2 games and thought they would earn at least a split, but Detroit’s pitching shut them out in the next 2 games, then took games 5 & 6 for a series win of 4 games to 2.

S. Derek Law (3)

Game #4: Brandon Pfaadt gets the spot start for his 2025 coverage and the crushers let him have it.

Coconut Creek 10-3
W. Blake Snell 6-2
L. Brandon Pfaadt 1-6

Game #5: The Cycle get their 2nd win over the Triple C’s in their past 11 games. This midseason nightmare needed to end for the home team.

Corktown 4-3
W. Tanner Bibee 10-3
L. Hunter Greene 5-6
S. Jeremiah Estrada (5)

Game #6: Corktown 4-1
W. Luis Ortiz 7-4
L. Edward Cabrera 5-2
S. Jeremiah Estrada (6)
Summary: The American Leagues best Coconut Creek wins back to back series against Corktown. This time it was 4-2. The way the standings currently shake out, there is a good chance these 2 could be a 1st round matchup. There is also a chance Corktown falls flat in the 2nd half.

Sacramento  Capitals @ Valdosta  Snappers

Preview: 1st Place Sacramento visits sunny, last place Valdosta.
Summary: Snappers hung tough, but the Capitals were too much for the hapless turtles. SAC takes 5 of 6.

Bethesda  Bandicoots @ Columbus  Explorers

Preview: Two 2nd place teams wondering where they are going – both doing some wheeling and dealing – both in need of offense – both with decent pitching staffs. Last week Bethesda took 4 of 7 and they are in Columbus for a six pack…Play Ball – And a fine ending to a fun series coming up…
Game #1: Connor Wong gets things going with a solo homer (5) in the 2nd, but Dalton Varsho matches plus a runner for a 2 run homer (4) in the bottom half and Columbus has the 2-1 lead. But in the 5th the Coots got some things going and Ryan O’Hearn and Wong each have rbi doubles and the score is flipped, 3-2 Bethesda! Looke like it would stay that way with the Bethesda bullpen mowing down Explorers left and right. But in the bottom of the 9th Luis Peralta on the hill for the Coots and Brendan Donovan starts off with a leadoff double! Kiki Hernandez then rips one down the LF line for a double and rbi – game tied! In come Tyler Rogers and they give Varsho the IW. So they go after LeMahieu and he grounds out – but the base runners move up. 2nd and 3rd, 1 out, Urshela walks to load the bases. Trilo up, fliefs out to left – out – all runners tag, play of the plate, SAFE! Game over.
FINAL COL 4 BET 3
Game #2: This one featured new Explorer Alex Faedo in his 1st start and he goes 8 innings, 3 hits, 9 ks and 2 runs. Unfortunately Michael Wacha, Josh Hader and Taylor Scott hold Columbus to 1 run. That is until the bottom of the 9th with Luis Peralta in for the save – doesn’t work as defensive miscue by David Hamilton and a single by Miguel Andujar (and some deft base stealing) sets up a walk-off 2 run single by Gio Urshela! Columbus wins it… Ryan O’Hearn again goes yard (14) for 1 of the Coots runs.
FINAL COL 3 BET 2
Game #3: Columbus off to a 2-0 lead after 1 but Bethesda chips away with a solo homer from David Hamilton (3) and an rbi single from Jose Siri and after 7 the score is tied 2-2. Stays that way though 9, 10 and 11 innings. Into the 12 Bethesda gets runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out of Edwin Diaz. Brent Honeywell is brought in to face new Coot, Lane Thomas. He hits that vegetable shot down the 1b line (pea) and it plates one and leaves a runner on 3rd and Tyler Fitzgerald brings him home with a SF. And those 2 runs were enough for the win and Tyler Rogers comes in for the save (2)
FINAL BET 4 COL 2 12 innings
Game #4: Except for injuries to Wong (5 days) and Vaughn (3 days) this game was really good for Bethesda. They get a single run in the 3rd – Ryan O’Hearn with his 3rd homer (15) in 4 games. Columbus ties it with a Jake McCarthy solo shot (5) in the 6th, but the Lane Thomas connects for a homer (6) in the 7th to put it away. Pavin Smith brings in extra insurance run and it’s 3-1 after 7. Thomas drives in another on a SF to make it even safer for Joe Musgrove (W 4-3) and Josh Hader (S-8).
FINAL BET 4 COL 1
Game #5: Columbus batters continue their quest to make the Bethesda pitcher look really good when they eek out just 1 hit against Kutter Crawford (W 10-7) in this one – and that was a lowly single by Gio Urshela in the 3rd. Meanwhile the Coots bats connected for 9 hits including a Nick Castellanos homer (17). Singles runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th were more than enough but they added another in the 9th for a big 4-0 win.
FINAL BET 4 COL 0
Game #6: For the record in the 5 games so far, in order, the Explorers have scores 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 runs (can they get in the negatives for game 6?). – WELL Maybe!

Columbus actually scores one in the 2nd, Bethesda ties it up in the 4th. Columbus scores 1 in the 5th, Bethesda ties it up in the 6th. Shea Langeliers (10) has homered to this point. But Mitch Keller (7.2 ip) and Clarke Schmidt (7.1 ip) are each in good form when they both exit midway through 8. Josh Hader and Tyler Rogers pitch 4 scoreless innings in relief and Tim Herrin and Edwin Diaz pitch 5.1 scoreless innings. Yep add that up and we getting deep into free baseball land. Jonathan King is called on in the 13th with 1 on and 2 outs – and he comes through to keep Bethesda scoreless in overtime baseball. Taylor Scott – who came on to quell a big threat in the 12th (and he did) is on the hill in the 13th. He gets the leadoff hitter out but then Johan Rojas steps up and goes bye-bye baseball with a walk-off solo homer (4) in the 13th!!
FINAL COL 3 BET 2

Summary: So we get a split series. Columbus wins 3 1 run games, Bethesda wins theirs by more! Not a lot of hitting by these teams, hard to tell if its good pitching or weak hitting – well, it’s definitely some weak hitting on the home teams part. We’ll see what happens next week with Prairie coming to town. Bethesda on the other hand is traveling to Tempe. Columbus is getting ready to welcome a couple of new players: Trent Grisham and Orlando Arcia. A lot of interesting possibilities for these two guys – a gamble…..

Baltimore  Comets @ Triple Creek  Patriots

Summary: Patriots take 4 of 6.

Dallas  Cougars @ Motor City  Muscle
