Prairie Falcons @ Bethesda Bandicoots |
|
|---|---|
| Preview: | The Bethesda Bandicoots find themselves in first place after a series of miracles and host the 3rd place Prairie Falcons in an NL East battle. |
| Game #1: | Jose Siri blasted a two run shot off Nathan Eovaldi in the 7th to lift Bethesda to a 6-4 win over the Falcons. The Falcons came out swinging with two homers in the first three innings which chased George Kirby before he could settle down. The Bandicoots came back though with Paul DeJong hitting a three-run homer in a 4-run Bethesda 4th inning that temporarily put Bethesda up 4-3. Josh Hader struck out the side in the 9th for his third save. |
| Game #2: | Andrew Vaughn collected two hits including a 3-run homer to lead the Bandicoots past the Falcons 5-4. The game saw very few hits with Prairie getting four compared to the Bandicoots’ five. Tyler Fitzgerald also homered for Bethesda while Tristan Casas did the same for Prairie. Josh Hader tossed a perfect 9th with two strikeouts to earn the save. |
| Game #3: | Mitch Keller fanned eight and allowed just five hits in a 3-0 complete game shutout win for Bethesda. Keller walked just one in the game although he did hit Zack Gelof with a pitch. Shea Langeliers and Mickey Moniak went deep for Bethesda. |
| Game #4: | The Bandicoots showed no respect for Prairie starter Yamamoto or his replacements as they scored six times in the 6th inning as part of a 11-4 win. Nolan Schanuel had three hits for the Falcons with ZAck Gelof collecting a homer. Jake Meyers had three hits and missed the cycle by a triple for Bethesda. Bethesda starter Reid Detmers left the game in the top of the 3rd with a shoulder issue and was injured for six days. |
| Game #5: | The Bandicoots recovered from a horrific start by Michael Wacha by scoring five runs in the bottom of the 9th off the Falcons’ pen to storm back and steal a 7-6 win. The Bethesda 9th included an Andrew Vaughn solo shot off Nate Pearson and four singles including the game-winner by Mickey Moniak.Giancarlo Stanton doubled and homered and drove in three runs for Prairie with Andrew Benintendi chipping in with a two-run homer off Wacha. |
| Game #6: | George Kirby was brilliant and tossed a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts as Bethesda won 1-0. The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the 8th on a Chris Taylor single that scored Jake Meyers and it was the Bandicoots’ only inning in which they had more than one baserunner off Nathan Eovaldi. Eovaldi fanned eight and allowed just five hits in getting stuck with the loss. |
| Game #7: | Matt (the Mower) Boyd struck out 13 in just over six innings as Prairie salvaged the series with a pretty easy win against the bewildered Bandicoots. Zack Gelof led the charge with three hits including a home run, Nolan Schanuel doubled and homered and Luis Robert added another home run for Prairie. |

Titusville Super Sonics @ Chicago Mobsters |
|
|---|---|
| Preview: | The Chicago Mobsters (23-11), sitting comfortably atop the American League Central, head into this series as one of the hottest teams in the league. With a potent offense and a pitching staff that has consistently delivered, the Mobsters have established themselves as a dominant force. Their lineup is anchored by power hitters and a disciplined approach at the plate, while their rotation has been lights-out, keeping opponents in check.
On the other hand, the Titusville Super Sonics (13-19) find themselves in a tough spot, sitting 4th in the American League West. The Super Sonics have struggled to find consistency, particularly on the mound, where their pitching staff has been vulnerable. However, their offense has shown flashes of brilliance, with a few key players capable of turning the tide in any game. If they can capitalize on their opportunities and tighten up their pitching, they could pose a challenge. Odds on the Series: Chicago Mobsters: 75% chance to win the series |
| Game #1: | The Chicago Mobsters dominated the Titusville Super Sonics in a fiery 10-0 shutout, fueled by stellar pitching and explosive offense. Logan Gilbert (7-0, 1.61 ERA) was untouchable, tossing a complete game gem, while Chris Flexen (1-3, 4.50 ERA) struggled, allowing three runs over four innings.
The game’s turning point came in the bottom of the fifth when Julio RodrÃguez crushed a three-run homer, extending Chicago’s lead to 6-0. The fireworks didn’t stop there. In the seventh inning, Willy Adames and RodrÃguez delivered back-to-back home runs, electrifying the crowd and cementing the Mobsters’ dominance. However, tensions boiled over immediately after as Mitch Garver was drilled by a pitch, visibly shaken but staying in the game. The next batter, Andrew McCutchen was hit in the helmet by reliever Tanner Banks, prompting an immediate ejection. The benches cleared and the animosity between these teams was palpable, hinting at bad blood brewing beneath the surface. Chicago’s offense was relentless, racking up 14 hits, including standout performances from Adames (3-for-5, HR) and RodrÃguez (2-for-5, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs). Meanwhile, Gilbert silenced Titusville’s bats, allowing just five hits and striking out eight. The Mobsters sent a clear message with their dominant performance and fiery response to the hit batters. With emotions running high, the next meeting between these teams promises to be must-watch baseball. Final Score: Chicago 10 – Titusville 0 Win: Logan Gilbert 7-0 (1.61) |
| Game #2: | The Chicago Mobsters dominated the Titusville Super Sonics in a decisive 11-2 victory. Bryce Miller delivered an outstanding performance, pitching seven innings with 10 strikeouts, allowing only two runs on four hits. The game turned in the bottom of the 4th when Bryan Ramos crushed a grand slam, breaking a 2-2 tie and giving the Mobsters a commanding lead. Julio RodrÃguez and Jackson Chourio contributed with multi-hit games, while Gary Sánchez added two home runs, including a two-run blast in the 7th inning.
Joey Estes struggled for the Super Sonics, giving up six runs in just 3.2 innings, including two home runs. Despite a two-run homer by Bryan Reynolds in the 3rd inning, the Sonics couldn’t muster enough offense to keep up. The Mobsters’ bullpen, led by Kyle Finnegan and Aroldis Chapman, sealed the win with solid relief work. Final Score: Chicago 2 – Titusville 11 Win: Bryce Miller (2-2, 2.31) |
| Game #3: | The Chicago Mobsters staged an incredible comeback to defeat the Titusville Super Sonics in a thrilling 10-inning game. Chicago jumped to an early lead with a grand slam by Jack Suwinski in the first inning and extended their advantage to 8-2 by the fourth, thanks to Bryan Reynolds’ stellar performance, including a two-run homer.
However, the Mobsters clawed back late in the game. Willy Adames tied it up in the ninth with a dramatic three-run homer, sending the game into extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th, Dylan Moore’s stolen base set the stage for Alex Bregman, who crushed a walk-off three-run homer to seal the victory for Titusville. Final Score: Chicago 8 – Titusville 11 (10 Innings) Win: Justin Martinez 1-1 (1.69) |
| Game #4: | The Super Sonics edged out the Mobsters in a thrilling game, securing a 5-4 victory. The Mobsters fought back in the fifth, with homers from Bryan Ramos and Luis Arraez tying the game at 2-2. The Sonics regained control in the sixth, with Eugenio Suarez and Rafael Devers driving in key runs to make it 4-2. Rowdy Tellez added insurance with a solo shot in the eighth.
The Mobsters mounted a late rally in the ninth, with Ramos and McCutchen contributing, but the Sonics’ bullpen, led by Clay Holmes, held firm. Holmes induced a game-ending groundout with the tying run on third, sealing the win. Final Score: Super Sonics 5 – Mobsters 4 Win: Andrew Heaney 3-2 (3.60) |
| Game #5: | The Titusville Super Sonics secured a commanding 6-2 victory over the Chicago Mobsters, led by an exceptional complete-game performance from Tanner Houck. Houck dominated on the mound, allowing just two runs on eight hits, striking out eight, and walking only one across nine innings. His resilience was evident as he worked out of multiple jams, including a critical double play in the eighth inning to halt a Mobsters rally.
Bryan Reynolds powered the Super Sonics’ offense with a two-run homer in the fifth inning, breaking a 1-1 tie. Brenton Doyle added to the offensive surge with a key two-run double in the seventh, extending the lead. Chicago’s Logan Gilbert, despite striking out eight, struggled with timely hits, surrendering three runs over 6.1 innings. The Mobsters’ offense was highlighted by Bryan Ramos’ solo homer in the eighth, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Houck’s brilliance. Final Score: Titusville 6 – Chicago 2 Win: Tanner Houck 5-2 (1.97) |
| Game #6: | The Chicago Mobsters edged out the Titusville Super Sonics in a thrilling 10-inning battle, clinching a 5-4 victory. Eugenio Suárez’s early two-run homer gave the Super Sonics a 2-0 lead, which they extended to 4-1 by the 6th inning. However, the Mobsters rallied late, with Willy Adames smashing a two-run homer in the 8th to narrow the gap to 4-3. In the 9th, Dylan Moore’s pinch-running and Yandy DÃaz’s clutch single tied the game at 4-4, forcing extra innings.
In the bottom of the 10th, LaMonte Wade’s pinch-running for catcher Gabriel Moreno set the stage for Dylan Moore’s game-winning hit, driving Wade 9in fromt first on a close play at the plate. Chicago’s bullpen, led by Jesús MartÃnez, held strong to secure the win. Final Score: Chicago 5 – Titusville 4 (10 Innings) Win: Jesús MartÃnez 2-1 (1.42) |
| Summary: | The Chicago Mobsters (27-12) showcased their dominance in a thrilling six-game series against the Titusville Super Sonics (13-19), highlighted by the sensational debut of rookie third baseman Bryan Ramos. Called up for the series, Ramos delivered an unforgettable performance, going 11-for-23 with 4 home runs, 11 RBIs, a .478 batting average, .520 OBP, and an astonishing 1.607 OPS. His grand slam in Game 2 and clutch hitting throughout the series provided a spark for the Mobsters’ potent offense.
Chicago’s pitching staff also shined, with Logan Gilbert tossing a complete-game shutout in Game 1 and Bryce Miller striking out 10 in Game 2. Despite the Mobsters’ firepower, the Super Sonics fought back with standout performances, including Tanner Houck’s complete-game gem in Game 5 and Bryan Reynolds’ consistent offensive contributions. The series saw dramatic comebacks, extra-inning battles, and even bench-clearing tensions, making it a must-watch showdown. Ultimately, the Mobsters’ resilience and Ramos’ breakout performance solidified their position atop the AL Central, while the Super Sonics showed flashes of potential despite their struggles. |
Tampa Bay Expos @ Columbus Explorers |
|
|---|---|
| Preview: | Tampa Bay at Columbus – both in major rebuilds, but the Explorers have had the easier (and luckier) run so far. How long before the bubble bursts?…..Explorers will try to take advantage of the weak, young pitching staff – but their Explorer offense has lots of holes…. |
| Game #1: | Explorers open with 3 in the 1st but Expos counter with 3 in the 3rd – Jose Altuve (3) with a Baltimore Special. But Columbus plates single runs in the 4th and 7th and Garcia closes it out for a save. TBE 3- 6-1 LP Dana (0-4) COL 5-10-0 WP Parker (4-2) S Garcia (1) |
| Game #2: | Tampa Bay finds bats and runs as they score 5 in the 5th – all they needed – to win game 2. George Springer (2) gets his own Baltimore Special and Ashcraft goes the distance with a 3 hitter!! TBE 5-8-0 WP Ashcraft (2-4) COL 1-3-3 LP Sears (2-4) |
| Game #3: | Columbus comes back in this one, but not before the Expos grab a 3-1 lead with a Badoo (1) Baltimore Special (maybe the team needs to borrow that name??). Columbus claws back with single runs in the 5th and 6th to tie it, then bust 2 runs across the plate in the 7th to grab (and keep) the lead. Andujar (1) gets a solo shot and Tirolo doubles in 2 in the 7th. TBE 3-6-0 LP Scott Barlow (1-1) COL 5-9-0 WP Peterson (3-1) S Herrin (10) |
| Game #4: | After a day off, the Explorers explode for 13 hits and 9 runs while Myers and Floro hold the Expos to 3 hits. The 9-2 final was because Brett Harris smacks a 2 run homer (1) – nope, no Baltimore Special, in the 9th. BAD NEWS HOWEVER came when Jared Walsh and Curt Casali collided on pop. Casali goes down for 3 days but Walsh will miss at least 39 days!! Ouch. TBE 2- 3-1 LP Waguespack (0-5) COL 9-13-0 WP Myers (4-2) S Floro (1) |
| Game #5: | Misfortunes due to injury are answered by Tampa Bay when they flip a 4-3 deficit into an 8-4 win. Columbus plated 4 in the 4th to grab the 4-3 lead, but then a team of 4 relievers aided starter Arrighetti in blanking the Explorers the rest of the way. Baddoo slugs 2 triples, 2 rbis. Soto slugs his 9th homer, Brett Harris gets his 2nd – this time in a win. Soto, Baddoo and Anderson each have 2 rbis. Columbus gets 10 hits – all by the 6th inning, then nothing. TBE 8- 9-1 WP Arrighetti (4-3) COL 4-10-0 LP Rogers (0-2) |
| Game #6: | Well the two pitching staffs were good enough to exploit the weak hitting as this one goes 10 innings before anyone scores. Then a leadoff walk to Kiki Hernandez turns into the winning run when PR Triolo when the the next batter, Edmundo Sosa smashes a walk-off double! Both starters, Graceffo for Tampa Bay and Parker for Columbus, go 9 innings, each giving up 7 hits and NO runs. Parker added on 9 ks. TBE 0-8-1 LP Kelly (1-2) COL 1-8-0 WP Herrin (2-0) |
| Summary: | 4-2 series win for Columbus – but things should tighten up next week as they host Selkirk and the NL Central cream begins to rise to the top. Tough news for Columbus – Mitchell Parker tosses 2 brilliant starts, 16.1 ip, 12 hits, 3 runs, 5 walks, 19 ks but only a 1-0 record might cost him pitcher of the week as there was a nice 2-0 week for another NL pitcher whose numbers otherwise were just a bit lower. But we’ll take the effort and press forward…. |

| Game #3: | HIW flips the script and puts up 5 quick runs off Webb. They then cruise to a 6-3 win. |
| Game #4: | Santander hits a first inning 2-run HR and that’s all CCC needed in a 3-1 win. |
| Game #5: | Tied 4-4 into the 8th, CCC fumbles away a couple unearned runs and give HIW a 7-4 win. |
| Game #6: | CCC offense hits 4 HRs to back Snell in an easy 9-5 win. |
| Game #7: | Greene gives up a solo HR in the 1st and no more hits the rest of the way. Steele gives up 6 hits but spread them out and throws a shutout in an HIW 1-0 win. |

Cincinnati Skyliners @ Fremont Cannons |
|
|---|---|
| Preview: | Fremont’s hot start has them feeling good about their chances of winning the AL East, but if that’s the case it’s anybody’s guess who might finish second, could it be Cincinnati? |
| Game #1: | Osvaldo Bido (CIN) vs Tarik Skubal (FRE)
Fremont threatens first with bases loaded and two outs in the second, but Bido gets David Hensley swinging. The Skyliners then get runners on 1st and 2nd in the third with no outs, but a botched bunt results in a strikeout and is followed up by a double play. Fremont gets runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs in the bottom of the inning with an Ohtani scorcher that sends Christopher Morel out for three days. A popout and a lineout double play end that threat. The Cannons finally get on the board with a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. sac fly, but the leave the runner stranded at third for a 1-0 lead. A chance for the Skyliners in the seventh is again undone by a bunt-strikeout. With two outs in the tenth, Yimi Garcia serves up a solo HR to Vinni Pasquantino to put Cincinnati up 3-2. Lucas Garcia has to face Shohei Ohtani, Jose Iglesias, and Teoscar Hernandez, and goes 1-2-3 for the win. Cincinnati wins 3-2 in ten for Fremont’s first extra-inning loss. Skubal strikes out 10 in the no-decision. W: Lucas Erceg (1-2) HR: CIN- Mitch Haniger (6), Vinnie Pasquantino (7); FRE- none |
| Game #2: | Yusei Kikuchi (CIN) vs Carlos Rodon (FRE)
Manuel Margot looks to the scoring going in the second, but is robbed or a HR by Teoscar Hernandez. In the bottom of the inning, Carlos Correa shows him how it’s done with a solo HR to put Fremont up 1-0. Shohei Ohtani homers in the third and Teoscar homers in the fourth to increase the lead to 3-0. An Alex Jackson error in the fifth puts Ohtani on base, and back-to-back singles by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Carlos Correa bring him in. Cincinnati finally gets on the board in the sixth with a Dansby Swanson solo HR. The Skyliners get two more on base in the inning but Robert Suarez comes on for Rodon and ends the threat. A pair of doubles by Elly de la Cruz and Elias Diaz in the bottom of the inning gets a run back for the Cannons. Cincinnati loads the bases in the seventh, then a Dansby Swanson single and errant throw by Shohei Ohtani leads to three Skyliner runs to make it 5-4. Fremont tacks on two in the bottom of the inning with an Elly de la Cruz RBI single and Nolan Gorman sac fly to go up 7-4. Kyle Farmer’s single in the eighth scores another for Cinci to cut it to 7-5. A Tommy Edman double in the ninth brings the tying run to the plate, but Dansby Swanson flies out to end the game with a Fremont win. W: Carlos Rodon (3-1) HR: CIN- Dansby Swanson (4); FRE- Shohei Ohtani (12), Carlos Correa (3), Teoscar Hernandez (6) |
| Game #3: | Bailey Falter (CIN) vs Walker Buehler (FRE)
Michael A. Taylor makes a potential run-saving catch in the first but slams into the wall and is lost for 2 days. Cincinnati starts the scoring with a Cal Raleigh solo HR in the second. A two-out RBI single from Vinnie Pasquantino in the third brings home another to put the Skyliners up 2-0. Falter falters in the bottom of the inning, giving up four with the big hit coming from a two-out 2 RBI double from Teoscar Hernanadez. Ben Gamel’s two out RBI single in the sixth and Tommy Edman’s sol HR in the seventh tie it up at 4-4. Elias Diaz answers in the bottom of the inning with a two-out 2 RBI double to put Fremont back up 6-4. Sean Reid-Foley comes in to close it out in the ninth, and strikes out the side in a better performance than Game 1. Fremont wins 6-4. W: Greg Weissert (1-0) HR: CIN- Tommy Edman (1), Cal Raleigh (4); FRE- none |
| Game #4: | Zack Littell (CIN) vs Bailey Ober (FRE)
We missed the Battle of the Baileys by one game, but instead got the Zack Littell show. A two-run HR from Cal Raleigh in the fourth would be all the scoring the Skyliners would need. Fremont got Elly de la Cruz on second with no outs in the bottom of the inning, but Shohei Ohtani, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Byron Buxton were all unable to bring him in. Littell stays out in the ninth to face the top of the order. A Shohei Ohtani solo HR gives the Cannons hope, then a single and error puts Byron Buxton on third with the tying run. Mike Yastrzemski the grounds out and Cincinnati wins 2-1 behind Littell’s CG win. Littell struck out 12 and allowed just 4 hits. Fremont felt disappointed as they only gave up 2 hits in the loss. W: Zack Littell (3-1) HR: CIN- Cal Raleigh (5); FRE- Shohei Ohtani (13) |
| Game #5: | Aaron Civale (CIN) vs Charlie Morton (FRE)
A two-out Aaron Civale error in the first is costly as it is followed by a Teoscar Hernandez 2-run HR. An Elly de la Cruz error in the second puts two on for Mitch Haniger. Haniger singles to left, but David Hensley is able to throw out Cal Raleigh at the plate. A Mike Yastrzemski error in the third contributes to loading the bases. Morton is able to strike out Vinnie Pasquantino, but Cal Raleigh launches a two-out grand slam to give the Skyliners the 4-2 lead. Fremont gets one back in the bottom of the inning with a Mike Yastrzemski RBI single. Cinci pads their lead in the sixth with a two-run homer from Tommy Edman and a solo short from Christopher Morel to lead 7-3. A Vladimir Guerrero Jr. solo HR in the seventh cuts it to 7-4. Fremont has hope down three, but Cincinnati scores three in the ninth with a two-run HR from Vinnie Pasquantino and solo HR from Cal Raleigh making it 10-3. An RBI single in the bottom of the ninth from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. makes a slight dent but isn’t enough as Cincinnati wins 10-5. Cal Raliegh has the big day going 3-5 with 2 HR and 5 RBI. W: Aaron Civale (2-4) HR: CIN- Vinnie Pasquantino (8), Cal Raleigh 2 (7), Tommy Edman (2), Christopher Morel (4); FRE- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (8), Teoscar Hernandez (7) |
| Game #6: | Osvaldo Bido (CIN) vs Tarik Skubal (FRE)
Fremont gets it started with an RBI double from Byron Buxton in the third. The Skyliners threaten in the fourth with runners at 1st and 3rd, but they lose an out when Dansby Swanson is caught stealing by Bo Naylor, then the inning ends with a groundout. Byron Buxton’s double in the fifth adds another run. Fremont puts up 5 in the seventh, with a two-run Mike Yastrzemski HR capping the scoring. Nothing much happens the rest of the way and Fremont wins 7-0. Buxton went 3-4 with 3 doubles and 4 RBI. The Skubal Gang allowed just two hits. Bido struck out 10 in the loss. W: Tarik Skubal (4-0) HR: CIN- none; FRE- Mike Yastrzemski (7) |
| Game #7: | Yusei Kikuchi (CIN) vs Carlos Rodon (FRE)
This game was over early as Fremont put up 10 runs in the second, seven of them off of Kikuchi. Cincinnati managed a Tyler O’Neill homer for their only run, but were two-hit for the second game in a row. Fremont would go on to win 13-1. Carlos Correa and Teoscar Hernandez both went 4-5 in the rout. W: Carlos Rodon (4-1) HR: CIN- Tyler O’Neill (3); FRE- Carlos Correa (4), Teoscar Hernandez (8) |
| Summary: | Fremont faced a challenge from Cincinnati but won the finale for a 4-3 series victory. Tarik Skubal went 1-0 with 0 ER, 4 H, 4 BB, and 19 K in 14 innings. Cal Raleigh slammed 4 HR in the series. Next week, Cincinnati hosts division rival Motor City, while Fremont hosts AL Central leading Chicago. |
