Triple Creek Patriots @ Prairie Falcons |
|
|---|---|
| Preview: | TCP and PRA in a heated divisional battle of 2nd and 3rd place…at least for a week…Falcons team is very tired after get ass whooped on the road past couple of weeks – so lots and lots of substitutions… |
| Game #1: | 6-0 shutout for Quintana and the Patriots…Falcons got 2 singles from 2 of our best hitters Javy Baez and Dillon Dingler and three bagger by Trout but nothing else…The fresh Prince of Bel-Air had a 2 run homer to lead TCP |
| Game #2: | There is one statline that defines this game – 3-4 with an RBI…..You guessed it JAVY BAEZ and one of those hits was a walk off single in the bottom of the 11th…TCP better find a +6 for the playoffs cause Falcons swiped 5 bases on the day as well. Trade Block sitter Brian Hoeing displayed why he commands a decent return as he went 4.1 shutout innings of relief to win it…PRA 3 TCP 2 |
| Game #3: | Falcons get 2 unearned runs in the 1st on a Carson Kelly error and a PB he let 5 more runners steal bases and I am sure Martin Maldonado’s agent is salivating right now… Schanuel ripped a long ball in the 6th and Falcons go one to win it 3-1…TCP got a their lone run on a India single…. |
| Game #4: | Every TCP hitter had a hit in this 8-1 win for the bad guys…no long balls got posted but Belly had 3 hits and 3 ribbies….Chicken Benintendies had 2 hits for the Falcons… |
| Game #5: | TCP better learn how to pitch to JAVY as he again goes 2-5 with 2 doubles and a game tying RBI in the 8th…It was 2-2 till the top of the 14th when Refsynder ripped a 2 run double and TCP wins it 5-2…No miracle comebacks by Javy this game but he was impressive…Stanton gets plunked by Joyce and is lost for 5 games….Bullpens seeing a lot of innings this series…. |
| Game #6: | Cory Seager with 2 ding dongs and Zach Neto with a no doubter out of the #9 hole and this was over early. Falcons make it look closer in the 7th when they get a long ball from Schanuel but this one easily went to the Patriots TCP 8 – PRA 4 |
| Summary: | Triple Creek takes series 4-2 by sweeping the final 3 games.. Jose Quintana had nice 2 game series tossing 15 innings of 1 run ball and adding 2 wins to his resume…meanwhile Falcons were led by none other then the Mario Mendoza look alike JAVY BAEZ…8 for 23…which is the equivalent of Ohtani going 12 for 20…find me another .121 hitter posting a week .200 points above their abilities!!!!! Get him now while he is HOT!!!!!! |
Long Beach Dirt Bags @ Bethesda Bandicoots |
|
|---|---|
| Preview: | Long Beach (14-13) travels to the east coast to face the Bandicoots (16-9) who have had no small measure of luck so far this season – a great way to compensate for lack of skill. |
| Game #1: | Shea Langeliers and Nick Castellanos each collected three hits as the Bandicoots beat up on the Dirt Bags’ pitching staff 12-0. Michael Wacha looked strong in his first start of the season and allowed just three hits with eight strikeouts. |
| Game #2: | The Bandicoots had to pull out some extra innings heroics thanks to Mickey Moniak who singled in the winning run in the 11th 5-4 over Long Beach. The Dirt Bags fought back from a 4-1 deficit heading into the 9th by teeing off on Bethesda designated whipping boy Josh Hader for three runs to tie it and send it into extra frames. Technically, it was Tyler Rogers who contributed to the damage as Hader loaded the bases and then Sam Hilliard cranked a 3-run double off Rogers. Daz Cameron had three hits for Long Beach including two doubles. Jake Meyers had three hits for Bethesda. |
| Game #3: | Connor Wong and Jake Meyers each tripled home runs to lead the Bandicoots to a 5-3 victory over Long Beach. Kutter CRawford looked pretty sharp on the mound for Bethesda and improved to 4-2 but he served up some nice cannon fodder in the 3rd inning to Jerar Encarnacion who launched a tape measure two-run shot into the upper deck in left field. Josh Hader managed not to shit the bed and hung on for his second save. |
| Game #4: | The Bandicoots scored three times in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game up at 3-3, but the game ended anything but close as Tyler Rogers lousy pitching and Andruw Monasterio’s clownish fielding led to three unearned runs in the 10th inning with Long Beach coming out on top 7-3. Jeremy Pena was 3/5 and one of four Dirt Bags to homer in the game. The others included Sam Hilliard (2), Daz Cameron (5),and Logan Driscoll (1). |
| Game #5: | Reid Detmers continued to defy logic and tossed yet another shutout – this time striking out 14 in the process – in a 2-0 Bethesda win. Harrison was almost as good for Long Beach as he struck out 10 but he gave up 5 walks and six hits in the complete game loss. Chris Taylor was 3/4 for Bethesda and drove in both of their runs. |
| Game #6: | A complete team effort that had everyone in the lineup getting at least one hit to help Bethesda to a 8-4 win over Long Beach. While there were not standouts for Bethesda, Long Beach got nice performances from Joey Ortiz (2/4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs) and Mike Tauchman (3/4 3 runs, 1 RBI). |
| Summary: | Bethesda fluked out a bunch once again and came away winning 5 of 6 versus Long beach. |

| Summary: | Baltimore manages to split the series with the 1st Place Explorers. |
Chicago Mobsters @ Gainesville Swamp Things |

Gainesville got 1 back in the bottom half on a Suzuki single. In the 3rd Matt Wallner hit a solo shot and then it was all pitching the rest of the way. Chicago guarantees themselves a series win. |
| Game #6: | Chicago 15 Gainesville 0W: S. Lugo (4-1) 6IP 4H 2K L: M. Waldron (2-3) 5IP 7H 3ER 6KIt was a still a game going into the 6th 3-0 and then former Chicago Mobster Jason Foley came in for Gainesville and proceeded to give up 8 in the 6th. Hunter Strickland followed him in the 7th giving up 4 more. Really embarrassing stuff out of the Gainesville bullpen this series. Wallner and Adames hit homers again and Alex Bregman joined the club. |

Spencer Steer in the bottom half got an RBI triple on a day where he fell a homer short of the cycle and then a sac fly from Colt Keith gave Gainesville the lead. Top 9 Porter Hodge came in and he had been stellar so far to start the year until Yordan Alvarez decided it was time to put that to an end. A game tying 2-out solo bomb gave Hodge his first blown save. In the bottom of the 10th Gainesville got a walk off sac fly from Ryan Jeffers. |
| Summary: | The pitching for Gainesville just wasn’t good enough to keep up with Chicago. The bullpen was a mess and a couple of bad starts really gave the Mobsters a huge advantage in the series taking 5 of 7. This drops Gainesville to 15-18. Chicago is hopeful this will allow them to start to build a lead in the division now standing at 23-11. |

| Game #1: | The 2nd batter of the game C.J. Abrams hits a 2 run homer followed by a couple rbi singles and SW Detroit quickly jumps ahead 5-0 after the top of the first. C.J. would hit two more homers and drive 5 RBI’s as pesky small dogs extended the Cougars losing streak to 7 games.
SW Detroit 8 |

Harsens Island Walleye @ Fremont Cannons |
|
|---|---|
| Preview: | The walleye are running in the Sandusky River, so it’s appropriate that Harsens Island would make their first ever trip to Fremont now. The Cannons come in with the lead in the AL East, while the Walleye sit second in the AL West. |
| Game #1: | Luis Gil (HIW) vs Carmen Mlodzinski (FRE)
Fremont gets it going right away with an Elly de la Cruz HR to lead off the bottom of the first. EDLC factors in again in the third with a single and steal, then is brought home with a Shohei Ohtani single to make it 2-0 Fremont. The Walleye finally get on the board in the fifth. After putting runners at 2nd and 3rd, an infield single by Jackson Merrill brings in one, and a Nolan Arenado sac fly brings in the other to tie the game at 2-2. A strange scene occurred in the sixth when HIW manager Buck Miller IV called on Santiago Espinal to pinch-hit for Brandon Lockridge, then had Gavin Lux pinch-hit for Espinal without him having taken a swing. EDLC puts Fremont back in the lead, however, with a sac fly in the seventh. Insurance comes in the eighth with a Mike Yastrzemski 2-run homer to make it 5-2. Greg Weissert gets the call to close it out in the ninth and gets the Walleye 1-2-3. Fremont wins 5-2. Gil fanned 9 in the loss. W: Yimi Garcia (2-1) |
| Game #2: | Michael King (HIW) vs Tarik Skubal (FRE)
Harsens Island that strikes first this time, with a pair of doubles from Jonah Bride and Jacob Young bringing in the first run. Elly de la Cruz leads off the bottom of the inning with a double but is stranded. A Nolan Gorman 1-out double in the second also comes up empty. Fremont gets runners on 1st and 3rd in the third but still come away scoreless. The Walleye threaten in the fourth after a walk and HBP but also come away with nothing. In the fifth, they get a leadoff double, then runners at the corners, but still can’t bring anyone home. The scoring drought ends in the top pf the sixth with a solo HR from Santiago Espinal putting Harsens Island up 2-0. Mike Yastrzemski answers with a homer of his own in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 2-1. The Walleye get the run back in the seventh when Ty France’s single scores Brandon Lockridge from 1st. Fremont takes the lead in the bottom of the inning, as Shohei Ohtani hits a 3-run HR to put Fremont up 4-3. “ FARMER served up some cannon fodder that time”. Robert Suarez is called in to get the save for Fremont but gives up a leadoff walk to Taylor Walls. A Jonah Bride double scores Walls all the way from first, and HIW ties it at 4-4 in the ninth. Former Cannon Jake Cousins comes in to the bottom of the ninth and gives up a single to PH Carlos Correa. After a sac bunt puts Correa at 2nd, Cousins elects to face Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and IBBs Shohei Ohtani. He gives up the unintentional walk to Guerrero to load the bases, then Teoscar Hernandez singles home the winning run. Fremont takes game 2 by a score of 5-4. W: Robert Suarez (6-0) |
| Game #3: | Justin Steele (HIW) vs Walker Buehler (FRE)
Injury concerns rear up for Austin Hays, as he slams into the outfield wall just three days after returning from the DL; this time he will miss 23 days. Fremont is the first to threaten with two on and one out in the third, but Steele gets Shohei Ohtani and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to strike out. Josh Naylor gets the scoring going with a solo HR in the fourth. The Walleye then put runners on 2nd and 3rd and bring in a second run with a Brandon Lockridge infield single. The Walleye put two on with one out in the fifth but fail to score. Harsens Island has a chance to break it open with bases loaded and one out in the seventh, but Buehler strikes out Josh Naylor and Alex Call to strand them all. Jacob Young does add that insurance in the eighth with a solo HR to make it 3-0 HIW. The Walleye leave Steele out there for the CGSO in the ninth but with two outs Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hits a homerun to end the shutout. Some excitement then ensues as Carlos Correa also homers, and suddenly it is a 3-2 game. Steele is left in to face Byron Buxton, and he gets Buxton to pop out to center to end it. HIW wins 3-2. W: Justin Steele (3-2) |
| Game #4: | Luis Severino (HIW) vs Bailey Ober (FRE)
Jackson Merrill leads off the game with a bang, sending one over the fence for the 1-0 lead. After an error and a single, the Walleye have two on with no outs but don’t bring in any more runs. Fremont ties it up in the bottom of the inning after Elly de la Cruz doubles and Teoscar Hernandez singles him in. After a single and sac bunt in the fifth, a passed ball by Jonah Heim on a strikeout lets Elly de la Cruz take first. An infield single from Shohei Ohtani loads the bases with one out, then Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singles in two runners. A walk to Teoscar Hernandez loads the bases again, and then Severino walks Mike Yastrzemski to send home another run. Severino is able to get the next two batters out to keep the Walleye in the game, but Fremont has a 4-1 lead. The Walleye try to make a comeback in the ninth with back-to-back doubles scoring a run, but that is all they would get. Fremont wins 4-2. W: Bailey Ober (2-1) |
| Game #5: | Bryan Woo (HIW) vs Charlie Morton (FRE)
Disaster for Harsens Island in the bottom of the first as Shohei Ohtani singles, steals second, and steals third. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. then drives one off of Woo’s hip that not only brings in the run but knocks Woo out for 33 days. In the bottom of the third, an Elly de la Cruz triple is followed by a Shohei Ohtani infield single to bring in another run. Ohtani again steals second and steals third, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is able to get the RBI single as well. After advancing to 2nd on a groundout, Guerrero Jr. scores on a Byron Buxton single to put Fremont up 4-0. Guerrero Jr. gets another chance in the fourth with two outs, but this time does not deliver. Morton is tested in the eighth with two on and Jackson Merrill at the plate, but Morton gets him to ground out to end the threat. Fremont tacks on another in the bottom of the inning with an Elias Diaz RBI single. Morton stays in and gets the Walleye 1-2-3 in the ninth for the CGSO as Fremont wins 5-0. Morton struck out 10 and allowed just four baserunners. W: Charlie Morton (4-2) |
| Game #6: | Luis Gil (HIW) vs Carmen Mlodzinski (FRE)
Fremont tests C Jonah Heim in the first, as Elly de la Cruz singles but is thrown out stealing 2nd, but Shohei Ohtani doubles then successfully steals 3rd. A groundout by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is enough to bring in the first run for Fremont. Jose Iglesias leads off the second with a double but is stranded. Fremont gets runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs in the third. Gil gets Ohtani and Guerrero, but Teoscar Hernandez provides the two-run single to make it 3-0 Fremont. Jose Iglesias then doubles home Hernandez to make it 4-0. EDLC adds another Fremont run with a solo HR in the fifth. In the seventh, a single and steal from Ohtani sets up a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. RBI single. After a walk moves Guerrero Jr. to second, a Jose Iglesias single brings him in to make it 7-0 Cannons. Neither team threatens after that, so Fremont takes the finale 7-0. W: Carmen Mlodzinski (1-0) |
| Summary: | Fremont takes the series 5-1 over the visiting Walleye. Harsens Island managed just 4 HR in the series. Elly de la Criz had a great series batting .421/.579/1.000.
Next up, Harsens Island has another tough matchup at Coconut Creek, while Fremont stays at home to face division rival Cincinnati. |
