Corktown Cycle @ Prairie Falcons
Preview:	Division Battle between the 2 seed and the 3 seed – mind you I said Division I know PRA is the 8th seed overall and barely at that…
Game #1:	Ho Hum Beat the drum – Cycle end it with 3 runs in the 10th after a boring 1-1 game over first 9 innings…Kelenic was the killer driving in 3 of the 4 runs…Ham Burger had a solo shot for Birds…CRK 4 – PRA 1
Game #2:	This one not any prettier as the Birds still manage to only score via the red solo cups..Benintendi and Masataka Yoshida…Kelenic again with a 2 run homer leading Corktown to a second win on the road…CRK 5 – PRA 2
Game #3:	This game was all about EFFECIENCY or lack there of…Corktown 10 hits – 0 walks and 10 Runs….not a single runner was left on base…helps with 6 homers – yes Kelenic again – O’Hoppe, Mountcastle, Schnieder, Chisholm and Lowe…Falcons on the other hand have 12 hits 5 walks score 8 but leave 9 runners stranded…Burger hit 2 out, Stephenson, Casas and Gelof – 11 homers in the game combined…CRK 10 – PRA 8
Game #4:	Finally the Birds salvage a win as we fought back to beat Merryweather and Pearson in the 7th and 8th inngins…they deserved it though….You cannot let the 7-8-9 hitters go 7-14 with 5 doubles 4 runs and 4 rbi’s and expect to win Gelof, Benintendi and Javier Baez were el fuego! Adbert with his 31st save of the year.. PRA 7 – CRK 6
Game #5:	Falcons have the long ball going with 3 more solo jacks from Burger the Kraken and Casas but 3 Falcon errors alloed enough unearned runs to spoil the power jolt from the offense. The corktown pitching really look more like a list of patients sitting outside Dr. Attache’s office – Rea, Varland, Okert De Los Santos but they held the fort and took care of business CRK 6 – PRA 4
Game #6:	Bello with his 15th win of the season – very nicely done…Drew Rom on the other hand fell to 0-5 so he is still looking for a W – maybe next year…OHoppe and Chisholm set the tone but the Corktown offense just was too much for the shitty arms on the Prairie CRK 9 – PRA 4
Summary:	5-1 road series win for the Cycle…they contineu to put distance between them and the combination of Prairie and Baltimore…Falcons give Comets a chance to overtake them but they face a tough opponent as well so not sure how much they can catch up. This will probably turn into a moonwalk into the playoffs as I think either team will back their way in just because no one else wants to leap forward. Falcons stay home to take on their rivals YRR as we battled a couple years back in a franchise dispersal draft..while the Cycle head home to host the nl west division leading Triple Creek Patriots…

Long Beach Dirt Bags @ Harsens Island Walleye
Summary:	Harsens takes the series 4-2 behind a 16 for 25 with 3 homer performance by Nolen Arenado. Newly acquired Levi Stoudt tossed a no-no as well.

Sacramento Capitals @ Tempe Tempers
Preview:	There was a 15 minute delay to the start of the first game of the series because life long Capital, Wilmer Flores, broke down crying and wouldn’t leave the field when he was informed he’d just been traded in the final minutes before the 2024 trade deadline. Was it because Flores had been with Sacramento since 2012 or because the rumors of him going to Tempe were killed when Valdosta swooped in with a bigger deal?
Game #1:	Glasnow vs. Cole Busch’s solo homer in the 3rd was one of only two hits given up by Cole. Glasnow had a perfect game until he allowed a walk and a rbi single in the 6th. In the 7th, Jones doubled, Ozuna walked and Albies drove them in with a triple and then scored on a sac fly. Yepez hit a solo off Minter in the 8th. Munoz gave up a solo to Lindor in the 9th, but held on for the save. Tempe 4-3 W – Cole (23-3), L – Glasnow (8-11), S – Munoz (26)
Game #2:	Rutledge vs. Pagan Pagan made his debut with Tempe as the opener. Ozuna rbi single in the 1st and Haggerty rbi single in 3rd gave Tempe an early lead. Pagan went five scoreless innings and turned it over to the pen. Massey rbi double in the 7th broke the shutout, but Pillar gunned a runner at home to preserve the 2-1 lead. Kwan rbi double in the 7th finally chased Rutledge. Albies two run shot in 8th. Tempe 5-1 W – Pagan (4-3), L – Rutledge (5-11), S – Munoz (27)
Game #3:	Kopech vs. Gray Kopech gave up one in the 1st, but worked out of bases loaded jam. Dahl rbi sac fly tied it in 2nd. Rosario solo in 2nd. Jones three run jack in the 4th knocked out Kopech. Darvish gave up a couple in relief which forced Munoz to get the final out. Tempe 6-3 W – Gray (18-4), L – Kopech (3-17), S – Munoz (28)
Game #4:	Lynn vs. Verlander Busch triple and Lindor sac fly gave Sac the early lead in the 1st. Tempe tied it after a Freeman walk, sb and a fielders choice in bottom of the 1st. Albies solo hr in 7th broke the 1-1 tie. Minter and Mayza closed it out. Tempe 2-1 W – Minter (3-3), L – Lynn (3-18), S – Mayza (17)
Game #5:	Sale vs. Cole Tempe broke the shutout in the 4th on a Bogaerts rbi single. Martinez added a two run homer in 6th. Sale left after 5.2 innings with 12 SO and Cole after 6 shutout innings. Baty’s solo off Minter in 7th was the only run for Sacramento. Freeman homered as Tempe added three more in the bottom 7th. Tempe 6-1 W – Cole (24-3), L – Sale (3-4)
Game #6:	Barria vs. Pagan Ramirez smacked a three run jack in the 3rd. Freeman solo in 5th. A couple rare errors by Tempe in the 6th allowed Sacramento to grab two runs. Freeman got his 200th hit of the year in the 7th. Munoz closed it out again. Tempe 4-2 W – Pagan (5-3), L – Barria (4-19), S – Munoz (29)
Summary:	Tempe picked up the sweep, but the majority of the games were closer than the record showed. Pagan made an immediate impact with two starts and two wins. Tempe’s pitchers will be challenged next week as they face the best hitting team in MWBL on the road in Selkirk. Sacramento stays on the road at Harsens Island.

Preview:	In memory of Barry Abrams, Mesa hosts Virginia.
Game #1:	Virginia 4 Mesa 3 (11) Heartbreaker for Mesa as Virginia scores in the 11th to win it. Mesa had scored 2 in the 8th to tie it. Jimenez and Palacios hit homers. Borucki with the win in relief.
Game #2:	Virginia 2 Mesa 0 Dunning tosses a 2 hitter. Gallagher knocks in both runs on a double.
Game #3:	Mesa 7 Virginia 2 Gavin Williams throws a solid 7 innings for the win. Suarez goes 3 for 3. Brujan knocks in 3 runs.
Game #4:	Mesa 3 Virginia 2 (10) Daniel Lynch contributes 7 innings but doesn’t get the win. Tellez and Santana with homers. Tellez had the homer in the 10th for the walk-off!
Game #5:	Mesa 4 Virginia 2 Logan Allen goes to 8-8 with 8 strong innings. Berti knocks in 2 runs as Mesa takes this one.
Game #6:	Mesa 5 Virginia 2 Joey Wentz has a no-hitter until the 5th and gives up 2 runs in route to his first win. Santana is responsible for a homer and 4 RBI. Biggio knocks in 2 for Virginia.
Summary:	Mesa wins the last 4 games of the series to take the series, 4-2.

Triple Creek Patriots @ Yucaipa Road Runners
Preview:	YUC seeks more wins, building on what is already a better record than last year.
Game #1:	YUC 2-1 Tied 1-1 into B9 Vavra a walk off hit for the win Greinke pitches a great game holding TCp to one run.
Game #2:	TCP 2-0 Bieber shuts out YUC TCP scores 2 in ist and solid pitching holds throughout.
Game #3:	TCP 12-6 Miranda 4 ribbies Almost everybody joins the hit parade.
Game #4:	YUC 10-8 Luplow brings his massive .086 BA in and still logs 3 ribbies.
Game #5:	TCP 2-1 11 innings Bellingers HR the difference.
Game #6:	TCP 3-1 Curry gets hurt in the 3rd. bullpen by committee holds YUC to 2 hits , 0 runs for the rest of the game.
Summary:	YUC picks up 2 more wins, setting th best record in YUC history

Chicago Mobsters @ Cincinnati Skyliners
Preview:	Chicago rolls into Cincinnati for half a dozen at Glenn Sample Field.
Summary:	Chicago dominates the series in a sweep. Cincinnati led for exactly FOUR innings in the series.

Tijuana Bottle Rockets @ Coconut Creek Crushers
Preview:	Playoff Preview Series.
Game #1:	TIJ gets two in the 1st and never scores again. CCC chips away and wins 3-2. Webb outduels Strider.
Game #2:	TIJ again gets two in the 1st without scoring again. This time CCC adds a little extra and wins 5-2.
Game #3:	CCC has a one run lead with two outs in the 9th, only to lose on a 2-run error. OUCH. TIJ wins 5-4.
Game #4:	TIJ was still pumped up from the Game-3 steal. Stroman and company shut down CCC and win 8-0.
Game #5:	Lucky for CCC it was Snell’s turn in the rotation. He promptly shuts down the momentum combining on a 2-0 shutout CCC win.
Game #6:	Grayson Rodriguez is strong and leads TIJ to a 7-0 win.
Summary:	A poorly timed error turns a 4-2 CCC series win into a 3-3 split.

Selkirk Steelers @ Baltimore Comets
Preview:	(92-46) Selkirk Steelers, 2nd Place N.L. Central, visit the (64-74) Baltimore Comets, 4th place N.L. East.
Game #1:	Baltimore stakes the Steelers to a 3-0 lead but score 6 in the 4th and cruise to a 10-3 win in game one. Jorge Polanco homered twice and knocked in 4 for the Comets. STEELERS 3 / 7 / 0 COMETS 10 / 14 / 1 WP – Hudson (13-9) LP – Cease (13-6)
Game #2:	Selkirk bounces back to take game 2 13-0. The game was closer than the final score, with the Steelers scoring 8 times in the 9th to make it a laugher. Matt McLain and Pete Alonso homered in the victory. Kyle Gibson recorded the win, running his record to 21-3 on the season. STEELERS 13 / 14 / 0 COMETS 0 / 5 / 0 WP – Gibson (21-3) LP – Zerpa (7-6)
Game #3:	Behind homeruns by Jesus Sanchez (9) and Salvador Perez (21), Selkirk wins game 3 6-2. Cal Quantrill earns his 13th win of the season. Game #5:	Down 6-2 after five, Baltimore scores two in the 6th and two in the 7th to tie it up. But the Steelers take advantage of a Bryson Stott error to plate a pair of runs in the 10th for an 8-6 victory. Marcus Semien (32) went deep for Selkirk; Hunter Renfroe hit his 21st homerun for the Comets. STEELERS 8 / 8 / 0 COMETS 6 / 9 / 1 WP – Hudson (13-9) LP – Cease (13-6)
Game #6:	Baltimore strikes first, with 2 in the 1st, but the lead is short-lived as Selkirk scores 6 runs in the 7th and don’t look back, winning the finale 9-5. Mookie Betts hits homerun #39 for the Steelers; Christian Vazquez (6) homered for the Comets. STEELERS 9 / 9 / 1 COMETS 5 / 10 / 0 WP – Cease (14-6) LP – Hudson (13-10)

Dallas Cougars @ Fremont Cannons
Preview:	Fremont looks to stay atop the AL East, while Dallas looks to next year. These teams swapped a pair of relievers right before the trade deadline, as Austin Voth and Justin Topa see action against their former teams.
Game #1:	Zach Plesac (DAL) vs Griffin Canning *FRE) Josh Jung gets Dallas on the board with a solo HR in the first inning to go up 1-0. Consecutive errors in the third followed by a walk loads the bases for Fremont. Vladimir Guerrero singles in two. New acquisition Dairon Blanco singles in another, and Austin Hays singles in two more, and now it’s a 5-1 Fremont lead.Seth Brown gets one back for the Cougars with a solo HR in the seventh, but Fremont matches it with a run-scoring groundout from Carlos Correa in the bottom of the inning. Fremont loads the bases in the eighth but doesn’t score. Dallas gets the leadoff runner aboard in the ninth, but that would be all and Fremont wins 6-2. Canning has one of his better games, striking out 10 in 6.1 IP. Dallas commits 3 errors.W: Griffin Canning (4-10) L: Zach Plesac (2-9)HR: DAL- Josh Jung (19). Seth Brown (6); FRE- none
Game #2:	Emerson Hancock (DAL) vs Scott Alexander (FRE) Fremont draws first blood in the second, with an Elly de la Cruz single and steal followed by a Carlos Correa double. The Cannons add to their lead in the third with a bunch of singles and a helpful Dallas error. After scoring four, Hancock is pulled and the Cannons end the inning with a 5-0 lead. Dallas keeps getting runners on, but don’t break through until the seventh inning. Victor Reyes drives in two with a double, and Pablo Reyes brings him home with a single. An error puts the tying run on, but the rally is stoppedwith a Jose Abreu strikeout. The Cougars cut the lead to 5-3, but Fremont responds in the bottom of the inning with a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 2-run HR. Vladdy comes to bat again in the eighth with two on, and this time connects for a 3-run homer. Dallas goes quietly in the ninth, and Fremont wins 10-3. Alexander allows 10 hits but escapes with allowing only 3 runs. Guerrero Jr. homers twice and picks up 6 RBI. Fremont racked up 4 SB. Game #3:	Kris Bubic (DAL) vs Kodai Senga (FRE) It looks like Fremont might get the good version of Senga today, but he walks off the mound after 1.1 scoreless innings, and is lost for 12 days. Carlos Rodon comes on in relief, but isn’t helped by a Teoscar Hernandez error on the first at-bat. A Blake Sabol single brings in the first run of the game as Dallas goes up 1-0. Fremont answers in the bottom of the inning with a 2-run HR from Byron Buxton and a solo HR from Josh Donaldson to take the 3-1 lead. Josh Jung sends one over the fence in the sixth to cut the Fremont lead to 3-2. Dallas gets two more on base, but Carmen Mlodzinski comes on and shuts down the threat. Byron Buxton’s run-scoring double in the bottom of the inning gets one back, and then Elly de la Cruz brings him in with a two-run homerun to make it 6-2 Cannons after six. Dallas doesn’t really threaten after that, and Giovanny Gallegos gets the Cougars 1-2-3 in the ninth for the Fremont 6-2 win. Game #4:	Lucas Giolito (DAL) vs Shohei Ohtani (FRE) This game was over not long before it began, as Fremont batted around in the first inning to go up 7-0. Josh Rojas surprisingly struck the biggest blow with a three-run HR. Josh Jung continues to thump, with his sixth inning solo homerun giving the Cougars their only run. Byron Buxton singles in an insurance run in the eighth. Dallas loaded the bases in the ninth but came away scoreless, and Fremont wins 8-1. Game #5:	Patrick Corbin (DAL) vs Sandy Alcantara (FRE) Dallas leads off with a Jarren Duran walk, then sees him promptly picked off. A Byron Buxton single and steal in the second sets up Elias Diaz’s run-scoring single to put the Cannons up 1-0. In the fourth, Duran singles, advances to 2nd, then scores on a Josh Jung single to tie it at 1-1. Duran doubles in the 5th but is stranded at 2nd. An infield single in the sixth from Nolan Gorman puts the Cannons back up 2-1, then a 3-run HR from Byron Buxton makes it 5-1. In previous games the big Fremont inning was usually enough to put Dallas away, but they would make a comeback in the seventh. Seth Bronw hits a solo HR. Shelby Miller comes in with two on and no outs, but Harlod Castro loads the bases with a single. Duran singles in one run, but Byron Buxton cuts down Victor Reyes at the plate to keep it 5-3. A sac fly from Andres Gimenez gets another run across to make it 5-4. Dallas strings a few hits together against former Cougar Justin Topa, with Pablo Reyes singling in the tying run. Tristan Beck comes on in the bottom of the inning and gives up three singles after getting two outs, with Elias Diaz bringing in the go-ahead run to make it 6-5 Fremont. Jarren Duran collects his 4th hit with a leadoff double in the ninth, but as happened in the first inning, he was picked off in a critical spot, this time by the catcher. After that, the demoralized Cougars slink away after the 6-5 Fremont win. Duran reached base 5 times, going 4-4 with a walk, but his two pickoffs were huge in this game. Game #6:	Zach Plesac (DAL) vs Garrett Whitlock (FRE) Dallas uses a 3-run homer from MJ Melendez in the first to jump out to the early 3-0 lead. Elias Diaz puts the first Fremont run on the board with a homer in the second to cut the Dallas lead to 3-1. Both starters limit the chances after that. Dallas threatens in the seventh with a leadoff double from Harold Castro, but he is stranded at 3rd. After two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Dallas unravels. Fremont scores 8, with a grand slam from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to cap it off for the 9-3 lead. Jose Abreu gets a consolation HR in the eighth, but Dallas falls to Fremont in the finale 9-4. Summary:	Fremont gets the sweep of Dallas to add to their lead over Southwest Detroit and improve their division record to 30-10. Josh Jung and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. each collected 3 HRs. No saves were recorded in this series. The loss of Senga will hurt next week, but he will be available for the big series against Southwest Detroit. Next week: Dallas goes on the road to Virginia, while Fremont travels to Mesa.
