Smyly seemingly in control – he gave up 2 in the 1st. But then in the 4th, Columbus gets 3 runs as they begin a homerun charge. Colas (12) and Kiki Hernandez (13) goe back to back, then LaMahieu (16) chips one out. 8-5 after 4. But Valdosta pads their lead with 2 more in the 7th but Columbus gets 1 more in the 8th. So it’s 10-6 heading to the bottom of the 9th. Tyler Alexander can’t get it done, Varsho (16) a 2 run shot makes it 10-8 – bring in Scott after Alexander allows another runnner. But Scott gives up a run making it 10-9, tying run on base – but the comeback wasn’t to happen, as he gets the final out and the Snappers hang on for the win. FINAL VALDOSTA win 10-9. |
