Summary: Two words to describe series, season, team, players, owner, General Manager, Board of Directors, Head of Scouting, Personal Trainer, Statistician, Executive Chef, Janitorial Serives, Parking Attendent, 2nd term intern, trophy wife… “We Suck”

Outscored 69-16…yeah you read that right..average score was almost 11 to 2.5 thanks to one brillant game where we managed to score 9 times…otherwise it would have been even uglier…

Betts Alonso Simien I think accounted for all 69 runs….

Betts scored 8 times drove in 7 and hit 3 dingers…interstingly enough he had back to back 0-4 games but managed to both score and knock in a run without a hit…

Simien had 9 runs knocked up – I mean knocked in 14 and hit 5 homers

70’s Porn Star “The Big Peter” scored 8 times driving home 16 and touching them all 5 times as well…

The highlight for the day in Prairie is that Ryan Kriedler did not end the game 3 consecutive times…he tried like hell being the 3rd out in every 9th inning but could only manage a 2 game streak…thank God Jake Burger is having a great year in South Chicago so I can play him at 3rd base all year..

Selkirk 6 wins – Prairie – come on you are smarter than a 5th grade…do your own f^&^king math

Before its all said and done Virginia racks up 11 runs on 15 hits. B.Anderson has 2 HR game.

Virginia loses L.Castillo for 10 days in the 4th inning. The VA bullpen of Hill, Soto, Morgan, and Thompson is up to the task as they only yield a K.Tucker solo-HR and Muncy 1b in 6 innings of work.

Game #2: Southbend bounces back and surprises VA as J.Junk has a solid start and the Lynx offense wakes up.

The game is 3-2 SBL going into the fateful B5. After Segura and Springer collide on a J.Soto 1b that puts runners on the corners, K.Tucker unloads a 3-run HR (his 2nd HR of the game) to open the game up.

Virginia 9, Southbend 3

The game goes into extra frames where VA finally puts it away with 3 runs on the T10 on rbi-1bs by Devers, Jimenez, and Rizzo.

Virginia 6, Southbend 3

Game #5: VA L.Patino is the story in this game as he tosses a 6-hit shutout as he fans 6 and walks 5. Patino bent but didn’t crack in this game.

The VA offense came from L.Gonzalez who had a 2-run HR and D.Castillo who is HBP with the bases loaded and is lost for 11 days to the Sluggers.

Virginia 4, Southbend 0

Game #6: The game looked bleak for SBL as VA tallied 4 runs in the T1 on a Jimenez rbi-1b and a Rengifo 3-run HR, and then put 2 more across in the T3 for a 6-1 lead.’

But SBL answers with 3 in the B3, which VA responds with 2 more in the T4 for a 8-4 lead. SBL just won’t go away as they take the lead with 5 runs in the B4 with the big hit being a K.Tucker 3-run HR.

SBL add 2 m ore in the B5 which VA answers with 2 in the T6 on a Lopez 2-run HR (1st of the year)
SBL N.Plummer hits a solo-HR in the B6 which VA Jimenez matches with a solo-HR in the T7.

Both VA Lopez and Devers go 3-5 with 3 runs and 2 rbi, Jimenez goes 3-4 with 3 runs and 4 rbi.
VA hits 5 HRs – A.Lopez(1), Devers(1), Jimenez(2) and Rengifo(1)

SBL hit 4 HRs – K.Tucker(2), N.Plummer(1), and Escobar(1)

SBL Barnes and Houck finally manage to get some VA hitters out to nail down the unexpected win for the Lynx

Southbend 12, Virginia 11

Summary: Virginia takes the series 4-2 with some entertaining games in the series.

Columbus  Explorers @ Sacramento  Capitals

Summary: Sacramento continues to perform well at home despite poor performances on the road. The Caps take 5 of 6 from the Explorers behind a revamped offense. We’ll see if it holds.

Coconut Creek  Crushers @ Yonge Street  Stalkers

Preview: The Crushers head north. The Stalkers await.
Game #1: A back and forth affair started by P’s grade 5 or less. CCC squeezed the most juice out of this game 1 orange. Villar drove home 3 runs, while Hoerner, Nimmo and Haniger each plated a pair. Joc Pederson and Trevor Larnach homered in the losing effort. CCC 9 – YSS 7
Game #2: Kind of a “diet” pitchers duel. Kaprelian was strong, just not quite strong enough. CCC scored both their runs on solo shots (O’Neill/Villar). Rutschmans solo shot in the 6th turned out to be the difference. YSS 3 – CCC 2
Game #3: The home team jumped on Blake Snell early. His defense let him down fully. 7 unearned runs later, it was pretty much over. Taijuan Walker was nails for the home squad. YSS 9 – CCC 2
Game #4: Another 3-2 game, but totally different. 5 of CCC’s 8 hits went for extra bases and they were against YSS’s best. Cole surrendered a pair, but as Clase tired late, Alvarado came in and hung the loss on him after allowing a hit and 2 walks in the 11th. CCC 3 – YSS 2 (11)
Game #5: Houser out dueled Rogers in another matchup of low grade SP. YSS 4 – CCC 1
Game #6: The finale was a repeat of game 5. two more middling(ish) SP’s. YSS 4 – CCC 1
Summary: YSS won 4 of 6, but is barely hanging on. The smoke is beginning to clear and mirrors are visible. We soldier on to Mesa, while CCC returns home to host FRE.
