Game #1: CCC B.Snell vs SBL J.Oviedo

CCC opens the scoring in the series in the T1 when Walsh 1bs, Haniger bbs, and Hilliard with a rbi-1b.

SBL tie it up in the B1 when Soto bbs, Bichette bbs, Tucker on via a FC groundout, Muncy is HBP to load the bases, and then Canha draws a walk.

CCC retakes the lead in the T3 when Haniger bbs, a Castro grounout moves him up, and then Bohm comes through with a 2 out rbi-1b.

Once again, SBL wastes no time and strikes back in the B3 when Bichette 1bs and K.Tucker hits a 2-run HR for a 3-2 SBL lead.

In the SBL B6 Bichette 1bs, steals 2nd, Muncy hits a 2-run HR, Altuve 2bs knocking out Snell, Canha hits into A FC as Altuve is nailed in a rundown trying to take 3rd, Escobar then lashes a rbi-2b, Alford is IW, and then Wynns with an rbi-1b for a 7-2 SBL lead.

SBL adds one more in the B7 on a Bichette solo-HR.

SBL gets 5.1 innings out of Oveido before turning the game over to the bullpen; Duffey and A.Bando close out the last 3.2 innings of the game with scoreless pitching for SBL.

SBL WP-J.Oviedo / CCC LP-B.Snell

Southbend 8, Coconut Creek 2

Game #2: CCC A.Civale vs SBL F.Peralta

After 4 scoreless innings from Civale and F.Peralta, CCC breaks through in the T5 with a W.Castro solo-HR for a 1-0 CCC lead.

As in the 1st game SBL again answers in the B5 when Meadows bbs, Canha 1bs, Escobar Ks, Wynns then reaches 1st to load the bases when Civale drops Walsh’s throw. J.Soto then takes advantage of the error and hits GrandSlam for a 4-1 SBL lead!

That would be all the scoring as CCC Civale settles down for two more scoreless innings and Trivino tosses a scoreless 8th.

SBL F.Peralta goes 7IP giving up 5 hits, the lone run, walking none, and fanning 8 before turning it over to Jackson and then Steckenrider to close out the game.

CCC loses T.O’Neill for 6 days on a HBP.

SBL WP-F.Peralta Sv-D.Steckenrider / CCC LP-A.Civale

Southbend 4, Coconut Creek 1

Game #3: CCC C.Flexen vs SBL T.Houck

CCC opens the scoring in the T2 when Haniger 2bs, Hilliard bbs, Haniger moves to 3rd on Blankenhorn’s Flyout, and Sosa hits a SF7.

CCC adds another in the T6 on a Haniger solo-HR. CCC Y.Hernandez scores on a 4-base error by C.Owings in the T8 and closes out the scoring in the T9 with a Castro 2-run 2b.

But the story of the game was CCC C.Flexen who tosses the 4 hit shutout while fanning 6 and walking only 1.

CCC WP-C.Flexen / SBL LP-T.Houck

Coconut Creek 5, Southbend 0

Game #4: CCC J.Musgrove vs SBL N.Pivetta

CCC again opens the scoring in the T1 on a Myers solo-HR.

But again, SBL answers in the B1 with a little help from CCC as Soto reaches 2nd on a Stubbs error, Bichette 1bs, but K.Tucker hits in a DP for the run but it prevents a big inning.

In the SBL B4 Tucker bbs and scores on a Altuve H&R rbi-2b.

CCC answers themselves and ties it in the T5 when Bohm bbs, moves up on a Y.Hernandez groundout, and then scores on Stubbs rbi-2b as he atones for his earlier error.

CCC takes the lead in the T6 when Myers 2bs and scores on Walsh rbi-1b as he’s nailed at 2nd on the cutoff play.

In the SBL B6 Tucker bbs, steals 2nd, and scores on a Altuve rbi-1b.

CCC keeps the pressure on in the T8 when Stubbs 2bs, Nimmo bbs, Walsh with an rbi-1b moving Nimmo to 3rd as Walsh takes 2nd on the throw. SBL C.Gallagher then lets a pitch get by him for a passed ball and Nimmo scores for a 5-3 CCC lead!

CCC L.Trivino, who came on in the B8, stays in the game for the B9 and gets Meadows 4-3, and then Canha 1-3, before PH Fraley bbs, PH Owings then reaches on Y.Hernandez throwing error, which brings J.Soto to the plate. J.Soto then brings the home crowd to their feet as he hits a 3-run HR for the game-winner!

SBL WP-A.Cimber / CCC LP-L.Trivino

Southbend 6, Coconut Creek 5

Game #5: CCC T.Rogers vs SBL P.Avila

CCC, a little displeased with the way the previous game ended, jumps on SBL Avila in the T1 when Nimmo 1bs, Sosa 1bs him to 3rd and beats the throw to move into 2nd, Walsh with a SF7 but Sosa is nailed at 3rd on the cut-off play this time. Haniger then hits a solo-HR for a 2-0 CCC lead.

CCC adds another run in the T2 on a Myers solo-HR.

SBL get on the board in the B3 with a J.Soto solo-HR.

But CCC keeps the pressure on in the T4 when Myers bbs, Hoerner bbs, Y.Hernandez is HBP, Stubbs with a SF8, and Sosa with an rbi-1b.

CCC Haniger then hits a solo-HR in the T5 for his 2nd HR of the game.

SBL would get a Escobar 2-run 2b in the B6 to close with 6-3, but that would be as close as the game gets as CCC plates 1 in the T7 on a Sosa solo-HR and 1 in the T9 on a Walsh rbi-1b. SBL gets 1 in the B8 on a Altuve solo-HR.

CCC M.Fulmer would come on in the B8 and toss 1.1 innings to earn the save.

CCC WP-T.Rogers Sv-M.Fulmer / SBL LP-P.Avila

Coconut Creek 8, Southbend 4

Game #6: CCC B.Snell vs SBL J.Oviedo

SBL opens the scoring in this game in the B3 when J.Soto 1bs, Bichette 2bs, and Tucker with a SF9.

In the SBL B4 Altuve hits a solo-HR and in the B6 Canha 2bs, Escobar groundout moving Canha to 3rd, Wynns bbs, and then Snell uncorks a wild pitch to score Canha. SBL Canha would add a 3-run bases loaded 2b to close out the scoring.

SBL J.Oviedo pitches his best game of the year as he throws a 5 hit shutout while fanning 7 and only walking 2.

SBL WP- J.Oviedo / CCC LP-B.Snell

Southbend 6, Coconut Creek 0

Series Summary: Southbend takes the series 4-2 over Coconut Creek. The series could’ve gone the other way as a split, or even 4-2 Coconut Creek’s way, except for 2 at bats by J.Soto; the Grand Slam in the 2nd game and the 3-run walk-off HR in the 4th game.

Yonge Street  Stalkers @ Mesa  Solar Sox

Series Preview: Yonge Street travels to the desert for a slugfest with Mesa.
Game #1: Well, not so much in Game #1, as Mesa wins 3-1 behind a strong 8 1/3 innings from Justin Dunn and a solo HR from Eugenio Suarez.
Game #2: Mesa wins another one, 7-3. Yonge Street gets back to back to back homers from Turner, Ortega, and Ruf, but it’s not enough to offset blasts from Kolten Wong and Nomar Mazara.
Game #3: Ortega hits another homer and Adrian Houser wins his 12th, 5-2. Claus saves his 35th!!
Game #4: The Stalkers score 10 times in the 3rd, but still has to fight off Mesa in a 15-13 classic. Claus comes in to get the last out and his 36th save. 37 totals hits (Yonge street gets 21 of them) in this mash fest.
Game #5: The Stalkers score 5 times in the 1st, but Gerrit Cole gives back 3 in the bottom of the frame. The lead stands up, as Yonge street wins 7-4. Guess what? Claus gets save #37.
Game #6: Mitch Garver hits a two out bottom of the 9th walk off 2 run double to give Mesa the series split.
Series Summary: An unexpected 3-3 series split that ranks as a moral victory for the woebegone Solar Sox.
