Trade Announcement – MWBL NEWS

ESPN NEWS (Bristol)
The Yonge Street Stalkers wasted no time in acquiring a promising young starter for the future.  Within 5 days of taking over the team general manager Scott Farquharson went out and received what he called “The Future”.   Farquharson was also quoted as saying “I am the team to be reckoned with.  I am going to dominate this league”.  Even though he was half joking, he was half serious.     The Stalkers received young gun Roy Halladay, and outfielder Geoff Jenkins.    In return the Stalkers gave away talented outfielder Dante Bichette.   Both general managers were happy with the deal, and are looking forward to putting the finishing touches on their teams on draft day, this Saturday (February 6th, 1999).
