MWBL UPDATE — The Columbus Explorers starter Tim Wakefield went out and dominated the Yonge Street Stalkers on Friday August 3rd, 1999.  Wakefield used 93 pitches in his complete game No-Hitter.   Wakefield faced two batters over the minimum, and while he walked four batters, he was helped out by two double pays, and only had two runners left on base for the game.  His knuckle ball fooled Yonge Street hitters all day, and yet only struck out 7 batters in the game.  Wakefield, was quoted after the game as saying “You just play them one game at a time, you go out and give it your all, and some days you have it, and some days you don’t.  Today I was good, tomorrow I could be bad.  I am just glad we got the win, and I’ll be ready to go on my next scheduled start”.  Keep an eye out for Wakefield’s next scheduled appearance on August 11th, 1999.
