TIM HUDSON – HALL OF FAME BIO
Tim Hudson’s 17-season Mid-West Baseball League career, spanning from 2000 to 2016, is a testament to longevity, durability, and big-game dominance, making him an undeniable choice for the MWBL Hall of Fame.
Hudson was an elite workhorse across teams like Staunton, Kentucky, and Severn, retiring with staggering career totals of 216 wins and over 3,060 innings pitched (3060.1). His 2,206 career strikeouts place him firmly among the league’s pitching legends.
His numerous accolades include the 2000 Rookie of the Year award and League All-Star selections in 2000 and 2002. Later in his career, he showed his defensive prowess by earning a 2015 Gold Glove. Hudson consistently anchored his staff, highlighted by dominant seasons like 2002 (18 wins, 2.36 ERA) and a phenomenal 2011 campaign where he went 22-8 with a league-best 0.95 WHIP over 257.0 innings.
The most compelling case for his induction lies in the postseason. While he delivered two perfect, scoreless appearances in the All-Star Game, Hudson was truly built for the championship hunt. He pitched in the Wild Card Round, Division Series, League Championship Series, and World Series, with his best performance coming in the League Championship Series (LCS). In 43.8 innings across the LCS, he dominated opponents with a brilliant 2.06 ERA and 0.94 WHIP, leading his teams to victory with a 4-2 record. This clutch performance under pressure solidifies his legacy as a true big-game ace.
