REYNOSO THROWS THE 4TH NO-HITTER OF THE SEASON

For Immediate Release
August 18, 2000

Staunton (AP) – The Canton Indians are trying to hold off the Buffalo Braves for the American League East pennant and outings like this are what they have been seeing from Reynoso for a while now.  Armando Reynoso is the 4th Mid-West Baseball League pitcher this season to say NO-NO.   Reynoso upped his record to 12-4 on the year, and look like he was J.R. Richard out there.   His fastball was clock a few times around 96-98 MPH, and he was masterful on the hill.   Reynoso walked four and pitched to two batters over the minimum, he was also helped out by two double plays and some stellar defense from his middle infield of Alomar and Hocking.   Offense in the game was provided by three home runs from the Indians top three hitters, Cedeno, Womack, and Canseco all went yard in the 10-0 win.   Canseco and Alomar had three hits apiece and the Indians had a total of sixteen on the day.  Canton Indians General Manager Lou Solomon said “Reynoso did what we expected of him when we went after him.  He looked like he was on top of his game today.  Hopefully in his next few outings he can handle the pressure of the playoff race, as well as the pressure of trying to live up to those expectations of another No-hitter.
