MWBL UPDATE  — Detroit’s Mike Mussina came as close as you can to throwing the no hitter without doing so.   Mussina gave up one hit, a 5th inning single to Mo Vaughn.   Vaughn was quoted later saying “Mussina was tough today, his stuff was UN-hitable, I just got lucky to drop one in and break up his No-Hitter”.    Mussina’s pitching line was 9 innings pitched, 1 hit, no runs, and 7 strike outs.  Mussina’a equal Chicago’s Darryl Kile was equally tough on this day.    Kyle went 7 innings, allowing only 4 hits, with 1 run (unearned) and struck out 4.   Detroit manager Sergio Ivone, and Chicago manager Stray Corrado, played the series face to face, and Even though Detroit went 4-2 in the series, Both managers said the series was a great one, and that the Mussina – Kile game was the best game of the series
