JHOULYS CHACIN – HALL OF FAME BIO

Jhoulys Chacin’s eleven seasons in the Mid-West Baseball League were marked by elite performance, making him an undeniable candidate for the MWBL Hall of Fame. Chacin’s nine-season tenure with the Tempe Tempers contained his best work.

Chacin compiled a dominant career record of 97 wins against just 27 losses, resulting in a phenomenal winning percentage of .782. This mastery was recognized early, as he earned the 2011 N.L. Rookie of the Year award after posting a stellar 16-3 record with an eye-popping 1.87 ERA and 0.91 WHIP.

His performance resulted in two N.L. All-Star selections (2011, 2018). His 2018 campaign was among his best, featuring a career-high 19 wins, five complete games, and 193 strikeouts over 213.0 innings. He finished his MWBL career with a remarkable 1,027 strikeouts and a 3.09 ERA over 1196.3 innings pitched. While a valuable contributor during the regular season, he struggled in the postseason.

Though injuries often shortened his career, his career winning percentage and ERA show that Jhoulys Chacin is truly Hall of Fame worthy.
