GENERAL MANAGERS MEETINGS / SLACK CHECK IN 2026
Get Ready for the MWBL General Managers Meeting / Slack Check-In! ⚾️
Attention all Mid-West Baseball League General Managers! As we gear up for another exciting draft, we’re inviting all General Managers to join us for a fun and engaging Slack Chat Check-In. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at 8:30 PM ET.
While attendance isn’t mandatory, it’s a valuable opportunity to connect with more than 20 General Managers from the MWBL. This is your chance to talk trades, share strategies, and get acclimated once again with our Slack Chat Program well before Draft Day. The Commissioner’s Office will be online from 8:15 PM ET. You’re welcome to join and leave at any time. These sessions typically last about an hour or two, providing ample time for some off-season wheeling and dealing.
We highly encourage community activity during this time, as it’s a precursor to our big event: MWBL Draft Day on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET. Ensuring everyone is comfortable with the chat room setup will help us avoid any hiccups on the main day.
So, come join the conversation, have some fun, and let’s make this Draft-Season one to remember! We look forward to seeing you there.
2026 MWBL TOP 100 RIGHT NOW
For the third year, the Mid-West Baseball League has put together our “MWBL TOP 100 RIGHT NOW” list.
Who are the 100 best players in MWBL right now? The MLB Network revealed its list through this year’s MLB’s Top 100 Players Right Now series, and the Mid-West Baseball League picked up on it and decided to make it “Futures Like”.
The formula for the “MWBL TOP 100 RIGHT NOW” list uses a 100-point system. The Top Rated Player, according to mlb.com receives 100 points, the second-rated player receives 99 points, and this continues until the #100th Rated Player, who receives 1 point.
Each MWBL franchise will then have the points totaled for their prospects, which gives us an overall number and produces our “MWBL TOP 100 RIGHT NOW” list. Here is the much-anticipated list for “MWBL TOP 100 RIGHT NOW”.

HOLLYWOOD LEGEND KERSHAW SET TO RETIRE – END OF 2026
BREAKING: Hollywood Werewolves Legend Clayton Kershaw to Retire at End of 2026 Season
Hollywood — The MWBL’s most dominant pitcher of the modern era announced today that this season will be his last.
Clayton Kershaw confirmed he will retire at the conclusion of the 2026 campaign. “I’m at peace with it,” Kershaw said. “It feels like the right time.”
Drafted 4th overall in Hollywood’s unheralded 2007 draft by owner Steve Cutler, Kershaw spent his entire 18-year career in a Werewolves uniform. “Steve believed in me from day one,” Kershaw said. “I couldn’t be more proud to finish where I started.”
Kershaw leaves behind a legendary résumé:
- 3 Cy Young Awards
- 11-time All-Star
- Seven 20-win seasons
- Nine No-Hitters
- 287 wins (2nd all-time)
- League-best 2.31 ERA
- 3,170 strikeouts (3rd all-time)
- .774 winning percentage – best in MWBL history
- Four World Series appearances, three championships
But in his announcement, Kershaw focused less on stats and more on relationships.
“What I’ll miss most is the feeling after a win,” he said. “Celebrating in the clubhouse with the guys — you can’t replace that.”
He thanked ownership, coaches, trainers, and clubhouse staff for keeping him on the field “every fifth day,” and called his teammates “the hardest goodbye.”
Kershaw also spoke emotionally about his family, crediting his wife Ellen for navigating 18 seasons of ballpark life. “She’s lived every pitch with me,” he said. “I couldn’t have done this without her.”
Despite the emotions, Kershaw was clear about his decision. “I’m really at peace with it,” he said. “This feels right.”
Hollywood now prepares for one final season with its franchise icon — a farewell tour for a pitcher who defined an era and built one of the greatest careers in MWBL history.
End of an era.
