2013 MWBL FUTURES
2013 PROSPECTS & POINTS / TOTAL TEAM POINTS / 2013 DRAFT POINTS / 2013 YEARLY RANKING
This Year the Mid-West Baseball League will be supporting our own Jonathan Mayo and his Top 100 Prospects for the 2013 MWBL FUTURES.
Thanks Jonathan, you do a great job at mlb.com & the MWBL is once again proud to call you our own.
The MWBL always has an eye toward the future and looks at which MWBL Franchises may have the best futures ahead of them. The formula used for the “MWBL FUTURES” list is based on a 100 point system. The Top Prospect, according to Jonathan Mayo of MLB.COM, receives 100 points, the second rated prospect receives 99 points, this continues until the #100th prospect, who receives 1 point.
Each MWBL franchise will then have the points totaled for their prospects, which gives us an overall number and produces our “MWBL FUTURES” list. Here is the much anticipated list for “MWBL FUTURE”.
WAIVER DRAFT
The Mid-West Baseball League Waiver Draft was held on Saturday February 23rd at 6:00 PM ET
Who will be this year’s Fernando Rodney Drop? Will someone picked tonight turn into a Star in the making?
Many lists were turned in and the Commissioner Office did their best to make sure no one quit over Lenny Harris. (We actually had that happen one year).
Less than a week until Opening Day in the Mid-West Baseball League!
2013 MWBL Draft – Wil Myers Goes #1
With the first pick of the 2013 Mid-West Baseball League Draft, the Motor City Muscle select Wil Myers. Myers was the Minor League Player of the Year last year, splitting time between Northern Arkansas of the AA Texas League and Omaha of the AAA Pacific Coast League. In 134 games, he hit .314 with an OPS of .987, clubbing 37 HRs and knocking in 109. Muscle owner Jim Craddock said “We’re pleased to add a hitter the caliber of Myers to our roster. There were a lot of talented players to choose from, but you just can’t pass on a prospect like him. He adds middle-of-the-lineup potential and much-needed flexibility to our roster.”
