N.L. CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES – TEM @ SAC G#5

SacramentoGame #5 –  Erik Bedard vs. Matt Cain

Tied 2-2, we are entering an entirely new series folks. It’s now a best of three, and every game matters.  Erik BEDARD steps on the mound for Sacramento; however, with a day off coming up and a strong bullpen, manager George Skiles has decided to keep BEDARD a very short leash.  No one knows what to expect from Tempe manager Chris Douglass when it comes to Cain–his third start in 5 games.  What we can guess is that CAIN won’t be out on the mound long … which Sacramento can’t be too disappointed to hear. A.L. CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES – TIJ @ HOL G#6

HollywoodGame 6 – Zack Greinke vs. David Price.

Last time Hollywood was home, they had their tails tucked between their legs as Tijuana manhandled them in game 1 and shut ’em out in game 2.  They now return how hoping to make it 4 wins in a row.  They did the improbable.  After losing the first 2 games at home, they went on the road to win 3 games, only to bring the season back to Hollywood.  Tijuana sends out Greinke again, while Hollywood counters with game 3 winner, Price.  Price has come up big in the post season so far, having gone 2-0 in the DS – winning the clinching game – and now goes for Hollywood in another clinching game.

A.L. CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES – HOL @ TIJ G#5

Game #5 –  Alexi Ogando vs Jered Weaver.

HollywoodWith the series tied at 2, it now turns out to be a best of 3.  In a series, which was dominated by Tijuana’s hitters in game 1, has turned into a pitching duel after all.    The last time Hollywood faced Ogando, they were no-hit by him for 5 1/3 innings enroute to a 2-0 shutout.  Since that game, Hollywood has turned it around and they have shutout Tijuana’s high voltage offense for 10 straight innings.  If Weaver pitches like he did in game 2, we could have another good one.

Ogando starts the 1st inning  with 2-quick outs before walking Alex Gordon, but then induces Ian Kinsler on a bounce out for the 3rd out.

N.L. CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES – TEM @ SAC G#4

SacramentoGame #4 –  Justin Verlander vs. Brandon McCarthy

The hometown Sacramento Capitals host a must-win Game 4 championship game. Down 2 games to 1, a Capitals loss would put them in a hole out of which–with the prospect of Matt Cain back on the mound–they may never escape.  While the first three games have been extremely close–with a total score of 15-13 in favor of Tempe–Sacramento knew that success would depend to some extent on Verlander’s ability to keep Adrian GONZALEZ in check.  Through the first three games, AGONE had batted .545 with 3 runs, 4 RBI, 3 doubles, and 2 home runs.  Simply put, GONZALEZ has been killing the Capitals.
