COLE HAMELS – HALL OF FAME BIO

Cole Hamels forged a Hall of Fame-worthy career over 15 seasons in the Mid-West Baseball League (2007–2021), establishing himself as one of the most durable and dominant left-handed starters of his era. Playing for six franchises— the Chicago Mobsters, Owensboro Onslaught, New York Outlaws, Pittsburgh Lumber Company, Tempe Tempers, and Valdosta Snappers—Hamels anchored rotations. He compiled formidable statistics, retiring with 188 career wins, a 3.20 ERA, and 2,377 strikeouts over 2,795.2 innings pitched.

Hamels was a model of consistency, especially during his peak. Between 2011 and 2017, he averaged over 210 innings per season. His standout years included 2012 with Owensboro (19 Wins, 2.30 ERA, 0.92 WHIP) and a remarkable 2013 campaign for the New York Outlaws, where he posted a career-high 22 wins and an exceptional 0.87 WHIP. His dominance earned him two League All-Star Reserve selections in 2013 (New York Outlaws) and 2017 (Pittsburgh Lumber Company), though looking back, perhaps he deserved more.

His best playoff performance came in the 2013 Division Series, where he registered a strong 1.64 ERA across 11.0 innings. He also recorded a victory in the League Championship Series in 2008.

His longevity, consistent excellence, and milestone achievements make him a clear inductee into the Mid-West Baseball League Hall of Fame.
