2015 DRAFT LOTTERY
The 2015 MWBL Draft Lottery will take place on Thursday Night October 9th, at 9:30 PM ET.
The following four Franchises will have a shot at the #1 Pick in the 2015 MWBL Draft on Saturday February 21st, 2015. The Commissioner Office will conduct this LIVE using the join.me program.

2014 COVERAGE DRAFT
Beginning this year the MWBL has conducted an automated COVERAGE Draft. This year it was done at the end of the Waiver Draft Process.
Beginning next year it will be done at the end of the POST DRAFT CUTS. So beginning in 2015 there will no longer be a Waiver Draft.
Purpose – to ensure that all teams have full player coverage during the regular season without the need for waiver claims – SO THE WAIVER CLAIM PROCESS is also eliminated.
Several administrative items are being eliminated (as well as shrinking the league guide).
Process – An automated draft is set up with 9 rounds (each year it might be different, it is based on the number of CARDED PLAYERS on the disk that are NOT on any roster divided by the number of teams in the league and keeping it a whole number. For this year, it works out to 9 players per team.
1. A Draft is set up (this year it was in the WAIVER DRAFT order and in subsequent years the order will be determined using the same process as the waiver draft.
2. Each team picks automatically with the DEFAULT Scout and Default GM in Advanced Draft (this will pick based primarily on team needs, so if you are short coverage in a position don’t be surprised to see a number of players picked who can play that spot – based on availability. COLUMBUS for example needed 1b coverage – and the coverage draft picked 4 guys for that spot.
2014 WAIVER DRAFT
The 2014 MWBL Waiver Draft took place for two days beginning on Thursday February 28th at 9:00 AM ET with the Selkirk Steelers taking Brandon McCarthy with the #1 Pick.
THREE FREE AGENTS DECLARED AFTER 2014 MWBL DRAFT
From the Commissioner Office:
The following three (3) players have been declared MWBL Free Agents and will be eligible to be RE-DRAFTED in the 2015 MWBL Draft.
Northcraft, Aaron – ATL – P – Chosen by Valdosta with Pick #312 as a Un-Carded Prospect. This put Valdosta at 13 Un-Cards, which was one (1) over the limit.
Gonzalez, Alex “Chi-Chi” – TEX – P – Chosen by Manhattan with Pick #137 as a Un-Carded Prospect.
May, Trevor – MIN – P – Chosen by Manhattan with Pick #144 as a Un-Carded Prospect.
These two selections put Manhattan at 14 Un-Cards, which was two (2) over the limit.
None of these players are listed on the 2014 MWBL Data Disk.
Again, Northcraft, Gonzalez, Alex “Chi-Chi” & May, Trevor have been declared MWBL Free Agents and will be eligible to be RE-DRAFTED in the 2015 MWBL Draft.
