For Immediate Release
February  7, 2000

ESPN NEWS (Bristol) – A draft error by the Midland Mud Hens on Saturday February 6th, 2000 lead to Taggert Bozied a Junior who plays third base for the San Francisco Dons, in gaining his free agency and becoming eligible for the 2001 Mid-West Baseball League Draft.   With Midland’s 7th round draft choice, the Mud Hens selected Bozied, for what General Manager Phil Seaton described as “Not only did I draft him for his power, but this kid has a plus arm and a average runner.  He could become a complete package.  Bozied could not be reached for comment, but a spokesman for him said “Tag is glad to be eligible for the 2001 Mid-West Baseball League Draft.  He feels that with this draft snafu he could really improve his chances of going in the top 2 or 3 rounds next year.   The Mud Hens front office did not hold a press conference but did issue the following statements to the press.  “The Mud Hens Organization still doesn’t understand how this could happen and believe us there will be a full investigation and appropriate actions will be taken.  The Mud Hens want their fans and the rest of the MWBL to know we are deeply sorry for any problems this may have caused.”
