Abrams, Wyatt Langford, and Heliot Ramos in just 1/3 of an inning. Robert Stephenson replaces Vest and gives up back-to-back doubles before departing without recording an out, and it’s now a 6-5 game. Yimi Garcia settles things down with two strikeouts to end the inning. SWD gets a walk and a steal from Langford in the eighth. A sacrifice moves him to third, but Christian Walker lines into a double play to end the last real threat from the Fighting Chihuahuas. Fremont wins 6-5.

SWD committed three errors, but none resulted in unearned runs. Abrams collected HR #15.

Fremont gets on Abel with a four-run first inning, with a 3-run HR from Nolan Gorman as the big damage. Alec Burleson gets one back in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 4-1. The Cannons add two more in the fourth to take a 6-1 lead. Southwest Detroit gets back in the game in the fifth as Tommy Kahnle gives up 4 runs in just 1/3 of an inning, led by a Wyatt Langford 3-run HR making it 6-5. That’s as close as they would get, as Fremont would add 4 more runs to take the finale 10-5.

Nolan Gorman goes 3-for-5 with 2 HR, a double, and 4 RBI. Elly de la Cruz does pick up an injury on an HBP but is only lost for the rest of the day.
