REYNOLDS ROCKS THE FALL CLASSIC: AMERICAN LEAGUE WINS THRILLING 2025 ALL-STAR GAME 2-1 IN 10TH

Saturday, November 8, 2025 — The American League All-Stars secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the National League All-Stars in a tense, extra-inning affair played Saturday night, highlighted by spectacular defense, strategic managerial changes, and a dramatic walk-off home run.

The game, managed by George Skiles of the Sacramento Capitals for the N.L. and Casey Hoch of the Fremont Cannons for the A.L., saw pitching dominate for much of the evening, with the National League tallying five hits and the American League securing ten but little in the way of runs. The A.L. ultimately claimed the win in the 10th inning, bringing the Fall Classic to a thrilling conclusion.

American League Pulls Ahead Early

The American League broke the 0-0 deadlock in the bottom of the fourth inning, thanks to a sudden burst of speed and timely hitting against N.L. reliever Carlos Estevez (SAC). Jarren Duran (DAL) initiated the rally by ramming a ball down the line that squirted past a diving Freddie Freeman (TEM), turning on the jets to slide into third base with a lead-off triple—his first triple of the season. After Eugenio Suarez (TSS) struck out swinging, Brenton Doyle (TSS) delivered the game’s first run, knocking a base hit on the ground past a diving Brendan Donovan (COL), atoning for a previous error.

The A.L. had a chance to extend its lead later in the fourth after Cal Raleigh (CIN) was hit by a pitch, putting runners on second and third with two outs. However, Estevez escaped the jam by striking out Aaron Judge (HOL), although the play required the catcher to scramble and throw to first to complete the out.

Late-Inning Drama and the Tying Blow

Pitching continued to hold firm until the top of the eighth inning, when the National League finally managed to level the score. Facing A.L. right-hander Jeremiah Estrada (CRK), Kyle Tucker (TBE) blasted a deep drive to right field that sailed way over the fence for a solo home run. This tied the contest at 1-1, marking a blown save for Estrada.

The tie lasted until the bottom of the 10th. With Emmanuel Clase (ARB) on the mound for the N.L., Bryan Reynolds (TSS) stepped up to the plate with one out. Reynolds connected on a pitch, rocking it high and deep to left center, where it went out of the park. The dramatic walk-off home run sealed the victory for the American League, 2-1. Ryan Helsley (SWD) earned the win for the A.L., while Clase took the loss.

Missed Opportunities and Critical Defensive Plays

Despite the low score, the game was riddled with scoring opportunities and standout defensive moments that kept the score locked for much of the contest.

In the first inning, both teams threatened immediately. For the N.L., Juan Soto (TBE) led off with a single, reaching second on an error by Brenton Doyle. Soto was stranded there after Zach Wheeler (DET) retired the next two batters. In the bottom half, Shohei Ohtani (FRE) singled after an error allowed leadoff man Bobby Witt Jr. (DET) to reach first, setting up runners on first and third with one out. N.L. starter Shota Imanaga (SAC) escaped the immediate threat by retiring Vladimir Guerrero (FRE) and Ketel Marte (HOL).

The National League had a crucial blunder in the second inning after Jose Ramirez (TEM) walked and stole second. After Salvador Perez (SEL) grounded out, Ramirez advanced to third. With Wilyer Abreu (TEM) at the plate, Ramirez daringly attempted to steal home but was tagged out at the plate by A.L. catcher Cal Raleigh, resulting in the third out and losing the potential go-ahead run. N.L. manager Skiles said he pulled that out of the Tempe playbook, but it backfired.

Pitchers consistently worked out of jams throughout the game:

Tyler Glasnow (SAC) inherited a serious threat in the bottom of the third with runners on first and third and only one out. He struck out Vladimir Guerrero looking for the second out and then got Ketel Marte to hit a long fly ball that Soto caught at the wall for the third out, ending the inning.

In the top of the fourth, Paul Skenes (DET) entered the game, inheriting runners on first and second with no outs. He immediately struck out Brent Rooker (SAC), induced a fly out from Francisco Lindor (SAC), and ended the threat by fielding a chopper and throwing out Jose Ramirez, retiring the side and leaving two runners stranded.

Bryan_Reynolds25-All-Star-GameA key stop occurred in the seventh inning. Michael King (HIW) put runners on first and second with no outs. After Adriann Morejon (DAL) got the first out, right-hander Cade Smith (CCC) was brought in. Facing Steven Kwan (TEM), Smith started a critical double play, turning and firing to second and then to first to end the inning and keep the A.L. lead intact.

The American League narrowly missed a go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth. After Luis Arraez (CHI) doubled, Byron Buxton (FRE) singled. The third base coach waved Arraez home, but he was gunned down by Tucker, cutting off the potential winning run.

Bryan_Reynolds25-All-Star-Game-MVPIn the end, the 2025 MWBL All-Star Game ultimately served as a showcase of pitching excellence and late-game drama, culminating in Bryan Reynolds‘ walk-off heroics. Reynolds was honored with the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player award on a night that saw key contributions from the Titusville team. The American League finished with 13 left on base and was glad to come away with the victory despite the missed opportunities.
