2026 DRAFT LOTTERY
The 2026 MWBL Draft Lottery is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 9:00 PM Eastern Time.
This event is significant because it will determine the selection order for the upcoming 2026 MWBL Draft, scheduled for Saturday, February 7th, 2026.
Eight Franchises, as enumerated below, will be vying for the coveted #1 Pick in the 2026 MWBL Draft:
For those eager to witness this pivotal event in real time, the Commissioner’s Office will provide a live-streaming link via Zoom, which will become active at 8:45 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
To maintain transparency and fairness in the selection process, an independent website (https://www.fantasydraftlottery.com/) will be used to generate the Selection Order, with each franchise receiving the number of Ping Pong Balls to determine its selection order.

VII) DRAFTS
The Draft Lottery is designed to determine the Draft Order for the first three picks in the first round. The new process incorporates the four worst teams from each league (as opposed to the bottom two from each league. The change to the system would still be heavily weighted toward the bottom four (4) teams in the League, with a 70% chance that one of those four (4) teams would draw the 1st pick.
(a) The number of teams involved in the lottery is eight (8)
(b) 100 random balls should be distributed from 1 to 100 for the lottery. :
(c) The four worst teams in each league (based on W-L records) will be in the lottery and receive the number of balls as indicated below.
(d) 1st worst AL Team – has 25 balls 1st worst NL Team – has 25 balls
(e) 2nd worst AL Team- has 13 balls 2nd worst NL Team – has 13 balls
(f) 3rd worst AL Team – has 8 balls 3rd worst NL Team –has 8 balls
(g) In the case of ties based on W-L records the team with the better home record, would receive more lottery balls.
(h) In the case of (i) being a tie Head to Head Record based on W-L records the team with the better H2H record, would receive more lottery balls.
