2022 MWBL OPENING DAY
Welcome to the TWENTY-SIXTH Annual Mid-West Baseball League Opening Day!
Opening Day is a big tradition in Baseball & that continues right here in the Mid-West Baseball League. This year, we are past the 25th Anniversary of 
the Mid-West Baseball League, as we are now heading into the 26th MWBL Season. Many moons ago six (Franchises) came across on the maiden journey from the Iowa Baseball Confederacy & 18 new franchises were created. The League flourished & today is considered one of the top APBA Baseball for Windows Leagues around. As we kick off the season we’d like to thank everyone who has participated & helped the Mid-West Baseball League on its 26th-year journey. A tip of the hat to all involved including a fly-by from a Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Bomber out of Selfridge Airbase in Harrison Township, MI Military Base.
The 2021 Mid-West Baseball League World Series Champions Tempe Tempers won their twelfth (12) World Series Championship in 2021 in a 4 game sweep over of the Detroit Crime of the American League. The Tempers will start on the road this year with a 7-game series in Selkirk facing the Steelers who could be the team to beat in the National League. The Tempers will return home on Saturday, April 19th to host the Columbus Explorers & host the World Series Flag! A new franchise, the Baltimore Comets will host another National League powerhouse in the Sacramento Capitals as they kick off their MWBL inaugural season in the Mid-West Baseball League.
The Detroit Crime, 2021 MWBL American League Champions will open on the road with a series in Chicago & Fremont before they raise the American League Pennant on Saturday, April 19th as they open up the 2022 home campaign taking on the Bottle Rockets from Tijuana, Mexico.
This year the Mid-West Baseball League pays homage to the National Anthems in front of a sell-out crowd in many cities across the league & performing the National Anthem this year once again is Billy Reedy, who plays an instrumental version of the American & Canadian National Anthems.
