Series Summary:	Corktown cleans house at the deadline and The Lumber Company takes advantage taking 5 of 6. Pittsburgh is extending their lead over Bethesda for the NL EAST.

Selkirk Steelers @ Bethesda Bandicoots
Series Preview:	Selkirk (54-66) with its 2020 vision heads east to visit the Bethesda Bandicoots (66-54) who are trying to stay within striking distance of the Pittsburgh Lumber company who lead them by 5 games.
Game #1:	Selkirk jumps all over reliever Jonathan Holder scoring 4 runs to tie it in the top of the 8th only to have AJ Ellis hit a two-out single in the bottom of the 9th to bring across the winning run in a 8-7 Bethesda win. The Steelers jumped into a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Rhys Hoskins (20) clubbed Hyun-Jin Ryu’s curveball over the centre field wall with Steven Souza on board and then tacked on another run in the 4th on a Brandon Dixon RBI single. The Bandicoots answered and took the lead with four runs in the 5th inning and went on to add two more in the 6th and another in the 7th which put them up 7-3 heading into the 8th. In the Selkirk 8th, Pablo Sandoval (4) and Gleyber Torres (17) crushed offerings from Holder and Adam Ottavino to stage their comeback. Torres was 3/4 with two runs scored and two RBIs to lead Selkirk. Aledmys Diaz (7) homered and drove in two for Bethesda.
Game #2:	Tyson Ross flirted with a no-hitter into the 7 inning as the Bandicoots toppled the Steelers 4-0. Ross (11-8) gave up isolated doubles to Jesse Winker and Pablo Sandoval but was otherwise unhittable on the day before running of gas in the 8th with one out and the bases loaded. Ross was bailed out by Steve Cishek who got Nick Williams to hit into an inning ending double play. The Bandicoots’ David Peralta (24) hit the game’s lone homer – a two-run blast off Zach McAllister in the bottom of the 8th. Andrew Cashner (5-10) pitched well for Selkirk in a losing effort giving up just two runs on five hits in seven innings. He walked one and fanned five. The win was a very costly one for Bethesda as all-star 3rd baseman Anthony Rendon was crippled for 14 days after being beaned by Cashner in the 3rd inning.
Game #3:	The Rendon-less Bandicoots homered five times including two by starting pitcher John Gant as they downed the Steelers 8-2. Gant (8-4) doubled his real-life power output with homers #3 and #4 off Steelers’ starter Brad Keller. Keller was homer-prone in this one with Trevor Story (35) and Aledmys Diaz (8) also homering. Matt Adams (13) added one for good measure with a solo pinch hit homer in the 7th off Hector Neris. Nick Williams (19) homered for Selkirk. Diaz added a double to his homer and drove in four runs on the day while Story was a cool 3/3 with two runs scored.
Game #4:	The APBA baseball gods spoke and it was not a good thing for Bethesda. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the 9th the game’s AI sent Lorenzo Cain to his death on a shallow foul ball behind 1st base that Rhys Hoskins caught and then easily threw out the speedy outfielder at home to preserve a 6-5 Selkirk win. Nick Williams (20) started things off fast for the Steelers homering with none out in the qst inning after JP Crawford opened things up with a double off Bethesda starter Sonny Gray. Bethesda got one back in their half of the inning on Trevor Story’s 36th home run of the year but the Steelers countered with another run in the top of the 3rd on a sacrifice fly by Gleyber Torres. The Bandicoots potted two runs in the bottom of the 5th off Kyle Gibson (9-9) on a two-run single by Jon Jay which tied it up 3-3. The Steelers scored three runs (1 earned) in the 7th capitalizing on a throwing error by Aledmys Diaz that went into right field. Torres brought in one of those runs on a ground out with the other run driven in by Jesse Winker. Robinson Chirinos (20) also homered off Gibson who went seven innings with three walks and five Ks. Martin Perez earned his 1st save of the season by pitching the last two innings for Selkirk.
Game #5:	Jesse Winker (3) and Brandon Dixon (13) each hit 3-run homers off Jake Arrieta to lead the Steelers to a 7-4 win over Bethesda. Austin Hedges got the other RBI for Selkirk with a single in the Steelers’ 4-run 2nd inning. Ryan O’Hearn drove in two runs with a triple in the 8th inning to make the game look closer than it really was. Steven Matz (9-14) got the W for Selkirk by allowing just one earned run in seven innings despite getting no help from the team’s defense as they committed five errors in the contest. Yuck. The game had a couple of ejections with Hector Neris (Selkirk) and Ryan Tepera (Bethesda) getting tossed after beaning Jeff McNeil and Jurickson Profar respectively.
Game #6:	Jeff McNeil lined out to Rhys Hoskins with two out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th and the score tied 1-1, but didn’t make the same mistake again as he lined the ball through the infield with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 13th to give Bethesda a 2-1 win. Rhys Hoskins spoiled Hyun-Jin Ryu’s bid for a no-hitter with a double in the 7th inning and then came around to score the lone Selkirk run on a groundout by JR Murphy. Rye had to settle for the no-decision despite allowing just the one hit. Brandon Morrow (3-1) got the win with two scoreless innings of relief. McNeil, Brad Miller and Matt Adams each had two hits in the game with Adams scoring the winning run. Spencer Turnbull (5-6) took the loss.
Series Summary:	Bethesda takes four of six but it took last minute heroics in two of those wins to get the W against a feisty Selkirk team. Whether that is enough not to lose ground to Pittsburgh who was travelling to Corktown remains to be seen.

Tempe Tempers @ Triple Creek Patriots
Series Preview:	Tempe visited Triple Creek for six game series.
Game #1:	Tempe jumps on Wood in the 1st for four runs and Mikolas goes the distance for the win. Tempe 6-2
Game #2:	Back and forth game with seven different lead changes. Triple Creek rallied for three runs in the 5th to go back on top 5-3. A three run jack by Brantley in the 6th put Tempe up for half an inning. Robertson had a key rbi single in the bottom of the 6th as the Patriots went back up 7-6. Wisdom hit a solo shot with two outs in the 9th off closer Strahm to tie it at 7-7. In the bottom of the 10th, Gurriel Crushed a walkoff homerun off closer Yates. Triple Creek 9-7
Game #3:	The Umpire must have bet on Tempe. The Patriots took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the 8th and Strahm came on to close it out in the 9th. He accidentally hit Albies and was promptly ejected. J.D. Martinez then smacked a three run bomb off Holland. Tempe 7-4
Game #4:	Miley tossed a complete game shutout and Martinez crushed another three run jack. Tempe 5-0
Game #5:	Three Patriots errors in the 4th resulted in Tempe plating six runs against Wood. Mikolas went 7.2 IP for the win. Tempe 9-1
Game #6:	Piscotty solo shot in the 9th made things interesting, but Kluber held on for the win. Tempe 2-1
Series Summary:	Mikolas was the pitcher of the series going 2-0 with only 3 ER over 16.2 INN. Recently acquired Miguel Cabrera put up a .389 Avg and .542 Obp. hitting leadoff.

Series Summary:	Rosemere won the first and last games of the series. Fortunately for the home fans, Long Beach won the middle 4. Eickhoff came in with a 1-16 record and won twice for the Renegades.

Southwest Detroit Fighting Chihuahuas @ Virginia Sluggers
Series Preview:	Coming off a 6 game series sweep, Virginia takes on the cellar-dwelling AL East Fighting Chihuahuas of Southwest Detroit.
Game #1:	VIR 3-1 W-Trevor Williams (10-9) L-Carson Fulmer (0-5) SV-Felipe Vazquez (23) 2nd inning RBI singles by Brian Anderson and Rafael Devers gave VIR a an early 2-0 lead. SWD got 1 run back in the 3rd on an Alcides Escobar single, but George Springer added a solo shot in the bottom of the 6th inning for a 3-1 VIR lead and Trevor Williams kept SWD off the scoreboard till he gave the ball to Felipe Vazquez for the save.
Game #2:	VIR 6-4 W-Luis Castillo (10-4) L-Jon Gray (5-10) SV-Jace Fry (5) Jean Segura went 3-4 with a homer and 2 RBI and got help from a George Springer solo homer and Carlos Santana’s two RBI singles as VIR held off SWD. Ryan Healy went deep for SWD but it wasn’t enough as Castillo picked up his 10th win of the season.
Game #3:	VIR 4-2 W-Chris Archer (9-5) L-Eric Fedde (3-8) Chris Archer went the distance allowing 5 hits while striking out 10 to get the win and give VIR a 3-0 series lead. Jorge Bonifacio’s 2-run double in a 3 run 4th was the big hit for VIR. The bad news for SWD was the 11 game injury to Harrison Bader.
Game #4:	VIR 6-5 W-Hector Robles (2-3) L-Bryan Mitchell (3-7) RBI’s from Ryan Healy and Wilson Contreras put SWD up 2-0 in the 1st. But VIR came back with 3 runs in the 2nd on a big fly from Kevan Smith for a 3-2 lead. Jacoby Jones tied the game up in the 4th with an RBI single but then VIR went back up 5-3 on Brian Anderson’s 2-run single. But wait,…Jacoby Jones once again came through in the clutch with an 8th inning double driving in 2 to tie the game at 5-5. Still tied in the 9th Corbin Burns comes in to pitch for SWD. After getting Merrifield for the first out, Burns holds his arm with a pained look on his face,…15 days on the IL. Bryan Mitchell replaces Burns,…Brian Anderson doubles, George Springer singles and an error by Alcides Escobar lets the winning run score on a groundball from Carlos Santana.
Game #5:	VIR 2-0 W-Ryan Borucki (3-7) L-Matt Moore (2-14) It was Borucki’s game. A complete game shut-out, 4 hits, no walks, 6 K’s Nothing else to say.
Game #6:	VIR 10-3 W-Heath Fillmyer (5-4) L-Carson Fulmer (0-6) VIR pounds out 16 hits to win going away. George Springer 3-4, 4 RBI and a Home Run. Whitt Merryfield 2-5 3 RBI on a double and homer. Again, bad news for SWD…Matt Wieters out for 20 days, JD Davis 1 day.
Series Summary:	Magic strikes again as Virginia sweeps Southwest Detroit. That makes 12 in a row. Virginia George Springer – 8-21 .381 6 RBI and 3 HR Southwest Detroit Wilson Contreras – 6-21 .286 Jacoby Jones – 5 hits, 4 RBI

Dallas Cougars @ Motor City Muscle
Series Preview:	Battle of the top two teams in the AL East: Dallas @ Motor City
Game #1:	MCM 6 – DAL 5 WP: R. Hill LP: J. Alvarez SV: Vizcaino HR: DAL–Robles, J. Abreu; MCM–Granderson Both lead-off hitters hit HRs in the first inning. MCM had a balanced offensive attack, with eight hitters having at least one hit, and five having at least two.
Game #2:	DAL 6 – MCM (10 inn.) WP: E. Diaz LP: B. Wood HR: DAL–Pollock (2), Rojas; MCM–H. Kendrick, S. Perez MCM jumped out to a 4-0 lead but couldn’t hold it late, and lost it in 10th inning with back-to-back HRs.
Game #3:	MCM 6 – DAL 1 WP: Verlander (CG) LP: C. Kelly HR: MCM–Castellanos, Ahmed Justin Verlander breezed but the Muscle lost catcher Salvadore Perez for the remainder of the series.
Game #4:	MCM 5 – DAL 0 WP: de Grom (CG) LP: C. Anderson HR: MCM–Castellanos (2), Kendrick, Granderson, Hicks Jacob de Grom one-ups Verlander, giving up one less hit (one) and one less run (none) than JV. Nick Castellanos continues his torrid pace, going 3-4 with two solo HRs. MCM runs all came on solo HRs.
Game #5:	DAL 3 – MCM 2 WP: Keuchel LP: Hendricks SV: E. Diaz HR: DAL–G. Polanco; MCM–A. Garcia DAL overcame another lead with a 3-run 6th inning, while their bullpen shut down MCM with 2.2 innings of hitless relief.
Game #6:	DAL 2 – MCM 1 WP: Giolito LP: R. Hill (CG) SV: E. Diaz HR: none Good, old-fashioned pitching duel, with Lucas Giolito coming out on top. Rich Hill did his job, going the distance and striking out 13, but the MCM offense went silent. It could have had something to do with the torrid Nick Castellanos getting hit and leaving the game in his first at-bat.
Series Summary:	DAL and MCM split the six games Edwin Diaz won a game and saved two for DAL MCM got three CGs in the series MCM outhomered DAL 11-6 MCM’s Nick Castellanos went 10-19 (.526), with 5 runs scored, 6 RBI, 4 doubles, and 3 HRs in 5 games. DAL bullpen had three games in which they gave up no hits or runs.

Harsens Island Walleye @ Jersey Nor’easters
Series Summary:	Although the Nor’easters continue to play above 500 there is little chance that a wild card spot is in reach. Jersey takes the series 4-2.

Fremont Cannons @ Yonge Street Stalkers
Series Preview:	Fremont visits Yonge Street. A matchup of franchises who always seem to be 2 or 3 years into a 5 year plan.
Game #1:	Danny Duffy was brilliant. (CG, 3H, 0BB, 1ER, 11K) The Cannon offense hit 4 HR. FRE 8 – YSS 2
Game #2:	Carlos Rodon was slightly brilliant. (CG, 5H, 5BB, 1ER, 6K) Khris Davis hit his 42nd HR. FRE 6 – YSS 1
Game #3:	Joc Pedersons 3 run HR ended the game in walk off fashion in the 10th inning. The 5 platoon lefty managed to swat his HR off lefty killer Sean Doolittle. Who knew? Khris Davis hit his 43rd HR in the losing effort. YSS 8 – FRE 5 (10)
Game #4:	Gerrit Cole improved to 18-4. Khris Davis accounted for Fremonts scoring with a pair of solo homers, giving him 45 for the season. YSS 6 – FRE 2
Game #5:	Dylan Covey received the Cito Gaston treatment to give the Stalker pen a bit of a breather. I’m not sure why Khris Davis didn’t homer, but he went 2-5 with a RBI. FRE 11 – YSS 5
Game #6:	Daniel Norris survived some sloppy defense and the Cannons offense chipped in with 9 extra base hits. Khris Davis went 1-5 with a RBI but alas no homer. FRE 7 – YSS 4
Series Summary:	Fremont went with a very successful strategy. Left handed Starters. They represent kryptonite to the Yonge Street squad. Khris Davis had a nice series, going 12-29 with 4 HR and 9 RBI.

Valdosta Snappers @ Columbus Explorers
Series Preview:	Valdosta comes to town and Columbus finds itself in a tough race for Wild Card status – it was a breeze for many weeks, but Long Beach has come on strong and has loaded up for the stretch. Explorers better be on their game this week – next week they go to Sacramento (quickly working to become Evil Empire II)…..
Game #1:	This was no way to start the series – Bombers plate 3 runs in the 1st and are up 6-2 going into the bottom of the 6th. That’s when they brought in reliever Jen-Ho Tseng (a grade 3). Well, he fans the first 5 batters he faces, and 7 in all in the 2.2 innings he pitches. So Columbus never closed the gap and loses to Valdosta 6-2 in the opener. Jose Peraza (11), Ronald Acuna (12) and Miguel Sano (13) homer for the Bombers. Jose Guerra (6-11) gets the win, Glenn Sparkman (3-4) the loss.
Game #2:	This game featured 2 HBP injuries, the first one was to Kurt Suzuki and he’ll miss 14 days. The 2nd to Columbus starter Jimmy Yacabonis (9 days) – he only pitched 3 innings giving up just 1 hit and no runs. But aside from that the Explorers score 4 runs in the 1st and 3rd on their way to a 10-3 win. Paul DeJong cracked a 3 run triple, Ian Desmond, coming off the bench had 2 hits and his 9th homer of the year. Albert Pujols homered for the Bombers (16). Brandon McCarthy took the loss (4-15) and Yusmeiro Petit got the win (6-2) while Luis Avilan pitched the final 3 for the save (3).
Game #3:	.A. Happ starts and gets a 4 run boost in the 1st – but then gives up 5 runs in the 2nd including a Drew Robinson 3 run homer (2). At 6-4 going into the bottom of the 4th, the Explores bang out 2 runs to tie it and it stays that way until the 11th. Alex Colome – pitched a perfect 10th, still in for the 11th. Charlie Blackmon leads off with a walk. Dee Gordon singles him to 3rd. Ian Desmond then singles through the drawn in infield to scores the winning run, 7-6 Columbus, 11 innings. WP David Robertson (5-2), LP Colome (2-2)
Game #4:	Columbus looked like they were on their way to 3 straight – 2 runs in the 1st, then another in the 6th. But Wade LeBlanc tired coming out in the 7th and gives up a 2 run homer to Drew Robinson. Then after allowing another runner, he leaves for Tony Watson who promptly blows the save giving up 2 hits and a walk and a tying run. However, he pitches a perfect 8th and 9th to keep the Bombers at 3. And in the 9th, Brock Holt walks, Victor Reyes comes in to PR and probably uses up his stolen base attempts for the year stealing 2nd and 3rd – Dee Gordon then singles through the drawn in infield (hmm, sounds familiar) – and Columbus rallies to win 4-3. LP Craig Kimbrel (2-5), WP Watson (4-1) BS (3)
Game #5:	Technically, this one was over in the 1st after Columbus scores 6 runs. But Valdosta was able to chip away scoring twice intne 3rd and 7th and a single run in the 6th. However, Columbus did manage to counter those with single runs in the 5th and 6th before a Shin-Soo Choo grand slam (17) during a 5 run 8th put the game out of reach – 13-5 Columbus. Hunter Renfroe (24) hit a 2 run homer and Joe Panik added a solo shot (5). Matt Carpenter (19) also homered for Columbus. Ejections: Junior Guerra and Jason Hammel for throwing excessive bean balls. Guerra came in to relieve Maeda (L 3-8) who had already thrown 1 beaner. Guerra then plunks 2 batters, Hammel comes in a plunks his only batter. Fortunately none of the Explorers were injured even though Choo was hit TWICE!! WP Julio Teheran (10-7).
Game #6:	Valdosta breaks out of the gate early with with a Ronald Acuna 2 run homer (13) in the 1st. However, Columbus fired back in the 4th scoring 6 times which included a 3 run Shin-Soo Choo homer (18), followed by a solo shot from Charlie Blackmon (19). The 6 runs were enough for the win inspite of Albert Pujols hitting a 2 run homer (17) in the 8th. Final was 7-5 Columbus. WP Glenn Sparkman (4-4) S Jose LeClerc (18), LP Jason Hammel (4-12)
Series Summary:	Columbus manages to come back after the game 1 loss. to take 5 of 6 as they now head out to Sacramento for a 1 week road trip. Valdosta goes to Pittsburgh.

Coconut Creek Crushers @ Southbend Lynx
Series Preview:	Coconut Creek travels into Southbend for a 6 game series.
Game #1:	SBL 4, CCC 3 (10 inn) Snell gives up 2 unearned runs through 8.1IP. Lowrie ties it with 2-run HR in 9th. SBL win in the B10 on a Bandy Passed ball.
Game #2:	SBL 2, CCC 0 All Moya as he tosses a 3 hit shutout with 12 Ks.
Game #3:	SBL 8, CCC 2 SBL offense comes alive scoring 8 runs in the first 5 innings. Altuve is the star going 4-5 with 3 runs, 3 rbi, and 2 HRs.
Game #4:	SBL 5, CCC 4 SBL get out to a 4-1 lead only to see CCC tie it in the T7 on C.Hernandez 2-run HR. SBL Cave 2bs with 2 out in the B8 and scores on PH M.Williams rbi-1b for the SVBL 5-4 lead. Osuna comes on for his 35th save.
Game #5:	SBL 10, CCC 2 SBL jump out to a 7-0 lead after 2 innings. SBL Foltynewicz gets his 19th win going 6IP and fanning 9 while giving up 1 run. SBL Muncy is 3-5 with 3 runs, 4 rbi, a 2b and a HR. Meadows adds a HR along with 3 rbi.
Game #6:	SBL 5, CCC 3 SBL put across 3 runs in the B8 to put the game away. CCC score 2 in the T9, but SBL Osuna comes on to pick up his 36th save. SBL Escobar is 3-4 with 3 rbi.
Series Summary:	Tough series for CCC as the SBL take all 6 for the sweep.
