Draft Lottery Ball Weight

The random balls should be evenly distributed throughout 1-100 for the lottery. Example: If a team has 40/100 balls then they should have 4 balls in each 10 ball sequence. 4 balls in the 1-10, 4 balls in the 11-20, 4 balls in the 21-30, etc. Right now they just get the balls from 1-40. if the lottery number is over 40 then they do not even have a chance. it should be weighted/spread evenly.

Draft Lottery System (Additional Teams)

| Proposal Reason: | To help the competitive balance of the league. Change the draft lottery from bottom 2 teams in each league to bottom 5 teams in each league. During the 2016 season 6 teams that had 90+ losses (3 teams over 100 losses) and did not get to participate in the lottery. These teams are clearly not competing for a playoff spot in any way. This proposal will also help the suspicion (I’m sure we are all do our best to win) of anybody tanking to get into the bottom two lottery.
This could be modified but here is what I worked out. Worst record This system would be still weighted heavily toward the bottom four teams in the League with a 72% chance of one of the four drawing the 1st pick. *This would only cover the top 3 picks in the draft. The remaining teams would fall back in line based on the previous system. |
