COL 4-10-0 WP Lance McCullers (3-3) S Tony Watson (13)
Game #2:  After dropping behind 1-0 to a Taylor Motter homer (3) in the 3rd, the Explorers put together back to back big innings with 4 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th to coast to a 7-3 win. Charlie Blackmon banged the wall and left the game and is doubtful for tomorrow’s game.
RRG 3-7-1 LP James Paxton (1-9)
COL 7-9-1 WP Jhan Marinez (3-1)
Game #3:  Rosemere acted like Renegades in this one scoring 3 runs in each of the first 4 innings for a 12-1 lead. Jose Uribe led the 12 hit attack smashing two homer (12, 13) and knocking in 4. Gregoria Petit hit his 1st of the year – driving in 3 and Angel Pagan (5) also got on the dinger wagon and drove in 4. Francisco Liriano was stellar in his own right fanning 6, giving up 4 hits and 1 run in 6 innings for the win. Ryan Zimmerman hit a solo homer (5) for the Explorers lone run.
RRG 13-12-1 WP Liriano (4-12)

Game #4:  Rosemere didn’t let up right away either – they scored 3 runs in the opening frame of game 4 and then when down 5-3 in the 8th, Jefry Marte hits a PH homer (4) with a runner on to tie the game. Then futility sets in. Explorers get runners to 3rd in practically every inning from 8 through 13 but can’t crack home plate. Finally Ryan Zimmerman hits a walk-off homer (6) in the 14th to end the contest. Renegades had 2 strings of 6 scoreless innings in the game, Columbus had 1. Eduardo Nunez hit the 2 run homer (10) in the 7th for Columbus to put them up, but the Marte homer, off Happ, kept Happ for a decision. The 3 runs he gave up in the 1st were unearned.
RRG 5- 9-2 LP Dario Alvarez (1-2) 14 innings
Game #5:  Columbus comes back in game 5 and scores 3 in the 1st and 5 in the 7th to pace their 10-2 win. Brandon Crawford goes 2 for 4 with 2 rbis and a triple for the Renegades. Luke Weaver lasted 6 giving up 6 hits, 4 walks, 8 ks, and 4 runs before Xavier Cedeno came in in the 7th and got bombed. Big guns for the Explorers came from Matt Carpenter who knocked 2 three run homers (18, 19). Charlie Blackmon goes 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored. Matt Shoemaker loved the support!
RRG 2- 8-0 LP Weaver (2-13)
COL 10-14-2 WP Shoemaker (10-2)
Game #6:  In the finale Rosemere gets single runs in the 1st and 2nd, Ramiel Tapia an rbi single, Rafael Ortega a groundout rbi. Explorers get one back in the 2nd. Jerad Eickhoff does well and leaves in the 7th giving up 3 hits, 1 run and fanning 10. Jason Grilli comes in to relieve, gets the Explorers in the 7th, but gives up a 2 out, 3-run homer (4) to Tyler Flowers in the 8th. Game #1:  Dirt Bags lead 5-2 heading into the bottom of the 8th. Fiers went 7 innings allowed 11 base runners but just 2 runs. Jared Hughes relieved Fiers and the fireworks started immediately. Hughes could only retire 1 batter but allowed 2 walks a double (Jonathon “don’t tell me the odds” Broxton) and a HR (Mitch Moreland). After the dust cleared 4 Patriots had scored to pull ahead 6-5. And that’s how it ended.

W – Broxton (1)
L – Hughes (4)
S – None

Game #2:  Triple Creeks’ pen was tired at the start of the series so A.J. Griffin became the “Breaking Away” poster child after a rough start. With the ball taped to his hand he faced 31 batters and was tuned up good. Joakim Soria on in relief pitches even worse as the Dirt Bag bats were smokin’. Tyler Anderson tosses 7 innings of 3-hit ball allowing just 1.

W – Clay Buchholz (5)
L – Jeremy Hellickson (7)

W – Dan Jennings (4)
L – Danny Salazar (9)
S – Boone Logan (4)

Game #5:  Plouffe’s 2 run dinger was the difference in a tight game. Ventura spun 7 innings of 2-run ball and Hughes/Lyons locked it down. Graveman pitched well but the one sinker that didn’t sink to Plouffe.

Plouffe 2-3 w/ 2rbi, Seager 2-5 w/ 1 rbi

W – Yordano Ventura (4)
L – Kendall Graveman (5)
S – Lyons (5)

Game #6:  Score is 3-2 Patriots heading into the bottom of the 8th. Stop me if you’ve heard this one, Triple Creek plates 4 in the bottom half of the 8th, and that’s how it would end.

Series Summary:  A six game split for the teams.

Tijuana  Bottle Rockets @ Mesa  Solar Sox

Series Preview:  Should be an evenly matched series, but Tijuana has the aces to make the Solar Sox bats go to sleep.

Game #4:  Corey Kluber went 8 strong (1 er), Jake Lamb and Rougned Odor homered as the Bottle Rockets win 4-1.
Game #5:  Anibal Sanchez and AJ Schugel shut out Mesa on 6 hits. Yasiel Puig hits a grand slam off Adam Wainwright and it’s a 5-0 win for Tijuana.
Game #6:  With a chance to tie the series all Tijuana had to do was solve Nolasco, which they failed to do as Rickey the Rocket pitched a complete game, striking out 10. Napoli and Fraizer homered in the 3-1 win.
Series Summary:  Nolasco’s two great games and Frazier’s 3 homers highlighted the Solar Sox 4-2 series win.

Series Summary:  Chicago wins the series 5-1, though the games were closer than expected.

Sacramento  Capitals @ Tempe  Tempers

Game #1:  Chen and his nearly eight ERA got the sacrificial usage start against Scherzer and his two ERA. However, Scherzer gave us three long balls and Chen wasn’t Chen.
