Series Summary	Chicago sweeps Hollywood, but this is by no means proves anything for either club. Games were done solo, and the Home Team had the advantage of playing out the games. Chicago expects Hollywood to return the favor when they head there in Mid-August. 5 of the 6 games were within 2 Runs, & the 6th game was within 3.

Series Preview	NL West matchup as the Dirt Bags head to Grand Haven to face the Gators in a 7-game series.
Game #1:	Ventura (LBD) vs. Ranaudo (GHG) Low scoring affair here; Dirt Bags jump up early and don’t look back, as the Gator offense only manages to produce 1-run Game Final: LBD 4 – GHG 1
Game #2:	Lester (LBD) vs. Chavez (GHG) A little more offense in this one. Again it’s the Dirt Bags to get on the board first. But the Gators storm back with a 5-run 2nd inning. Long Beach chips away, only to re-take the lead late Game Final: LBD 8 – GHG 6
Game #3:	Fiers (LBD) vs. House (GHG) Fiers had his way with the Gators; complete game 1-hitter Game Final: LBD 4 – GHG 0

Game #5:	Perez (LBD) vs. Farmer (GHG) The Dirt Bags score 11 runs (only 5 earned; Grand Haven commits 3 errors) in the first 2 innings. Game Final: LBD 12 – GHG 5

Pittsburgh Lumber Company @ Triple Creek Patriots
Series Preview	In a NL East dogfight, Pittsburgh looks to Triple Creek for some easy bones, but will they roll over and play dead?
Game #1:	Eduardo Rodriguez (2-1) spins an 8 inning 2 run 9 K performance to kick the series for Pittsburgh. Brett Gardner lead the attack going 3-5 with a single, double and triple. Alex Wood drops to (2-3) with an average performance. Wood did manage to keep up his Mr. Furious routine by drilling Moustakas with a pitch after he homered in the 2nd inning. Moustakas would take the next couple days off waiting for the bells to stop ringing. PLC 6 TCP 2
Game #2:	Pittsburgh takes De La Rosa’s lunch money and gives him a swirly to boot with a 4-run 1st inning and then plating single runs in the 2nd and 3rd. Miley improved to (3-2) and Gardner continued his hot hitting with a double and a homer. Marte was 3-5 and Teixeira 2-5. Triple Creek fought back all day and lost in the fray was Pence’s 4-5 4 RBI effort. PLC 8 TCP 6
Game #3:	A Hutchison (4-3) vs. Graveman (0-4) match-up looks to lean the Patriots way on paper but Pittsburgh hangs a 3-spot in the 1st inning. Graveman settles down and allows nothing after his rough start. The Patriot pen also tosses zeroes but Triple Creek struggled to make contact all day whiffing 11 times. Kelley picked up save #6 for Pittsburgh. PLC 3 TCP 2
Game #4:	Wacha (4-1) vs. Buchholz (2-1) Both starters go deep into the game and Triple Creek’s offense doesn’t show up. Wacha picks up win #5 and Andriese his 1st save. PLC 4 TCP 1
Game #5:	Eovaldi vs Gonzalez didn’t look like a pitching duel on paper and the game followed suit. By the 5th inning both starters were toast and the game was 7-6 in favor of Pittsburgh. The Lumber Company added 2 in the 7th to cruise into the bottom of the 9th with a 9-6 lead. Solis allowed a lead off base runner so Kelley entered to finish it off. After plating one to make it 9-7, newly acquired Patriot Caleb Joseph steps up with 2-runners on and 2 outs, and calmly blasts a walk-off 3 run bomb. He seems to like base-runners! PLC 9 TCP 10
Game #6:	E. Rodriguez improves to (3-1) with 6 shutout innings which the pen keeps perfect. Gardner continues to be on fire with another 2-3 day and Kelley garners save #7. PLC 2 TCP 0
Game #7:	All Rubby De La Rosa this day as he goes the distance tossing a 2-hit shutout. Miley goes 6.2 allowing just a single run but that’s all Triple Creek needed. PLC 0 TCP 1
Series Summary	Pittsburgh takes 5 of 7 as Gardner racked up 11 hits and 5 steals.

Motor City Muscle @ Dallas Cougars
Series Preview	The top two teams in the AL East meet when first place Motor City Muscle visits 2nd place Dallas Cougars. Dallas has a home record of 11-2 and trails Motor City, who have a road record of 10-3 by 1.5 game. Both teams are well on their way to their first winnings seasons in the MWBL.On the league leader boards Dallas enters this series 2nd best in AVG at .271, 4th in runs scored per game, 4th in slugging, and 2nd best in stolen bases with 30. For the Muscle the begin this series 5th in AVG at .259, leading in homers with 50, 3rd in runs, on top in slugging, and second best in ERA at 2.64
Game #1:	Motor City struck first in the top of the 2nd when their third baseman came up with two outs and man on first, “WARREN cranks it up … he goes the opposite way … high fly deep to right POLANCO got a good jump … he’s at the warning track … say good-bye to this one…it’s gone! home run for CASTELLANOS … and two runs score. CASTELLANOS has his 3rd homer of the season and 8th RBI”Motor City’s starter deGrom was wheeling and dealing until one out in the 6th. After a double by Swihart and a walk by Harrison CF A.J. Pollock came to hit for the Cougars, “The runners take their lead … and the pitch … POLLOCK puts a charge into this one a big fly to deep left … CRAWFORD will run out of room … A.J. ties the game! that’s a Baltimore special … a three-run homer … A.J. trots around the base. MUSCLE 3, COUGARS 3.”Dallas would win it in the bottom of the 9th when LF Rasmus tripled with one out and scored when pinch hitter Jeff Francoeur hit a sac fly. FINAL SCORE: Dallas 4, Motor City 3
Game #2:	Thanks to an error 1B Abreu had a chance to hit for Dallas in the bottom of the first, “And now the pitch … it’s crushed deep to center field … TROUT turns and watches … later! it’s long gone! … that sounded like a firecracker off the bat … a two-run shot. So ABREU has his 4th homer of the season … and the COUGARS go ahead by two 2-0 … here in the 1st … 19 ribbies now for ABREU”Motor City would score two in the 4th on catcher Rupp’s 4th homer of the year and when the Dallas battery committed a wild pitch and passed ball in back to back pitches with runners on first and second.The Cougars would get the two runs back when reserved infielder Nick Franklin hit a 2-run home run and the Muscle would add one more run on a solo HR by Trout, but Dallas pen would throw up two scoreless innings to give game two to Dallas FINAL SCORE: Dallas 5, Motor City 3
Game #3:	Four Motor City pitchers would hold Dallas to just 3 hits, while DH Brandon Moss provided the scoring with a solo home run in the third. The Muscle are now back in first in the AL East by a half game over Dallas. FINAL SCORE: Motor City 1, Dallas 0
Game #4:	Dallas Keuchel loses a no hitter with one out in the 9th and Cougar catcher Swihart leads the offense going 2-4 with a double and two RBI. Dallas re-takes position of first place. FINAL SCORE: Dallas 4, Motor City 0
Game #5:	Dallas starter Lackey was giving a 1-0 lead going into the 6th, but he couldn’t hold it. After a walk, single, and another walk Motor City catcher Perez came up, “Infield deep … the runners take their lead … the pitch … line drive to third just out of reach … that’s good for extra bases … RASMUS’s chasing it … into the corner PANIK scores … tie game … ROBINSON’s right behind him … TROUT will try to score and he does … RASMUS’s throw … here’s the play at third …SAFE!…under the tag three-run triple for PEREZ MUSCLE 3, COUGARS 1 three big ones score on PEREZ’s 1st triple” However the Muscle were not done scoring in the inning as Perez would score on a double by Loney who would later score on an error. It was more than enough for Muscle starter Verlander as they take game 5 and move back into first place. FINAL SCORE: Motor City 7, Dallas 2
Game #6:	Dallas starter Adam Warren and two relievers would hold Motor City to 5 hits and catcher Swihart would drive in runs in the 2nd and 4th. FINAL SCORE: Dallas 2, Motor City 0
Game #7:	Dallas CF Pollock drives home a run in the first and third while Panther starting pitcher Corbin cruises through 7 plus innings striking out 9 only faltering a bit in the 8th when a double and throwing error led to Motor City’s only run of the game. FINAL SCORE: Dallas 2, Motor City 1
Series Summary	Pitching dominated the series as both teams only had one game where they scored more than 4 runs. Should be a battle all year between these two teams in the AL East. Dallas takes 5 of 7 and goes into first place. Both teams face AL West teams next week as Dallas goes on the road against Coconut Creek and Motor City hosts Hollywood.

Series Preview	Nothing to see here….
Game #1:	Karns pitches well. Middle relief tries to blow it, but Rondon saves the day. CCC wins 4-3.
Game #2:	Complete game shutout for Nick Martines. SB wins 2-0.
Game #3:	Complete game shutout for Archie Bradley. What???? SB wins 7-0.
Game #4:	Familia pitches 2-2/3 perfect relief to save the game. SB wins 3-2.
Game #5:	Folty with a 2-hitter. Really??? SB wins 4-1.
Game #6:	Karns is back and pitches well again. This time he gets no support. SB wins 2-1.
Game #7:	Brad Brach RP gets forced into starter duty due to team fatigue of all SB SP’s. So naturally he takes a no-hitter into the 8th. CCC gave up early in this one and it turned into a rout. SB wins 10-0.
Series Summary	Common theme for CCC this year. Can’t score. Made a lot of Grade-3 pitchers for SB look like aces. Southbend takes the series 6-1.

Bethesda Bandicoots @ Valdosta Snappers
Series Preview	Valdosta plays host to 1st place Bethesda. NO-HITTER ALERT!
Game #1:	Bethesda 7-1. Sonny Gray evens his record at 3-3 as the Bandicoots cruise.
Game #2:	Valdosta 6-5. Seth Smith walked it off with a 9th inning RBI 1B for the win.
Game #3:	Bethesda 5-2. A-Rod homered to help the Bandicoots to the win.
Game #4:	Bethesda 9-2. A-Rod homered twice and knocked in 6 as Arrieta wins and drops his ERA under 1 for the year.
Game #5:	Bethesda 4-2. Chris Carter homered in a losing cause for the Snappers. Young picks up his 1st win of the campaign.
Game #6:	Bethesda 1-0. A classic pitchers duel between Sonny Gray and Phil Hughes. Sonny Gray comes out on top with a NO-HITTER! I’d say he wrapped up pitcher of the week with his performance.
Series Summary	Bethesda beats up on Valdosta, winning 5 of 6 and shutting down the Snappers offense.

Yonge Street Stalkers @ Virginia Sluggers
Game #1:	YSS 13-3 T.Walker gets his 1st win. Heyward, Bour, Prado (4 RBI also) go deep for YSS.
Game #2:	VIR 2-1 Archer improves to 4-1. N.Walker’s walk-off single wins it for the Sluggers.
Game #3:	YSS 3-0 Shields tosses CG 2-hitter. d’Arnaud doubles in 2 in the 1st and that’s all YSS needed.
Game #4:	VIR 5-1 Cahill gets the win (5-2) as he K’s 12 in 7.1 innings. S.Schumaker knocks in 2 to lead the offense.
Game #5:	VIR 3-2 M.Gonzales gets win #3 (3-0) and Rizzo’s 2-run blast highlights the offense. K.Bryant picks up homer #11 and RBI #23 for YSS.
Game #6:	YSS 6-5 Extra innings. A.Ramirez’ 3-run homer ties it in 7th for VIR. YSS goes ahead by 2 in the 10th on RBI singles but, Laird’s 2-run double in the bottom of the 10 re-ties it. In the 14th, d’Arnaud’s RBI puts YSS ahead for good.
Series Summary	Split series 3-3

Detroit Crime @ Fremont Cannons
Game #1:	Strasburg goes 8.2 IP with no hits, one walk, and 12 K’s, and Giles gets the final two outs for Detroit’s no-hit victory over Fremont 3-0. Machado’s 3-run HR in the first was the difference.
Game #2:	The Crime hammer the Cannons 12-2 as Machado homers again, his eighth of the season.
Game #3:	Nola improves to 4-0 with the Detroit 6-2 victory.
Game #4:	A home run party by Detroit gives them the 12-1 win. Jones (2), Machado (9), Harper (8), and Peralta (2) all go deep.
Game #5:	Bumgarner goes to 5-1 with the 7-1 Crime win.
Game #6:	Strasburg was much more hittable the second time around, as Fremont finally gets a victory 7-3 with homers from K Davis (3) and Schoop (3).
Series Summary	Aiding the expected beatdown was some atrocious defense by Fremont, committing 14 errors in 6 games. Scripts saved and available on request.

Columbus Explorers @ Clovis Wheat Kings
Series Preview	1st place Columbus sporting a 28-5 record rumbles into Clovis currently sitting in 2nd place at 23-10.
Game #1:	Columbus comes out on top 5-3 as Tomlin bests Harvey. Cuddyer and Flowers went yard for the Explorers while Castro handed out a pair of souvenir homers for the Clovis fans. Revere and Desmond both had run scoring singles for Columbus. Tomlin picked up his 3rd win while Watson was tagged with the loss.
Game #2:	Arenado and Cruz both homered for Clovis to lead the Wheat Kings to a 5-2 win. Dickey started for Columbus and took the loss while Jungmann pitched through 6 for Clovis for the win.
Game #3:	Liriano was brilliant for Clovis with a 3 hit, 10 strikeout 2-0 shutout. To seal the deal Liriano blasted his first homer of the year in the 5th of McCullers, the tough luck loser.
Game #4:	Samardzjia pitched a strong 7 innings before Grilli and Romo closed out the Clovis 6-1 win. Byrd and Granderson both blasted 2 run homers in the 5th to provid the punch against Tommy Milone who suffered his first loss of the year.
Game #5:	Clovis jumped all over Happ and the Explorer bullpen for an 8-5 win. Seven different Wheat Kings drove in a run as they built up an 8-2 lead after 8. The Explorers plated three in the ninth to make it interesting but Ziegler shut the door. For the second day in a row Clovis tagged an Explorer hurler with their first loss of the year, this time it was Happ who now stands at 6-1 on the season.
Game #6:	Clovis took the finale 5-4 behind Richards and a trio of bullpen arms. Desmond and Blackmon went deep for Columbus while Arenado and Crawford answered in kind for Clovis.
Series Summary	Explorers run through the National League takes a bit of a hit but nothing that looks like it will slow them down much. Explorers will head home for a meeting with Grand Haven while Clovis looks forward to their first trip to the state capital to take on first place Sacramento.

Southwest Detroit Fighting Chihuahuas @ Manhattan Project
Series Preview	Chihuahua’s hit Manhattan. They bring along a large supply of those little plastic bags for the sidewalk.

Series Preview	Someone forgot to tell Sacramento that rebuilds are suppose to take at least 4 or 5 years.

Series Summary	Tempe took four of six in a very tight series. Scherzer picked up his first lost of the season when Chris Davis pinch hit and took him deep in the 9th.

New York Outlaws @ Corktown Cycle
Series Preview	Two teams that started the season in different directions meet for 7 as part of an NL East series.
Game #1:	For the first time in 2016 Jeremy Hellickson came to pitch in this one. He went this distance striking out 4 and giving the Cycle a 6-3 victory. Corktown 6-3 W. Hellickson 1-5 L. Harang 1-3
Game #2:	Adam Morgan v. Cole Hamels seemed to be a bad matchup on paper, but Adam Morgan topped Hellickson’s performance in game 1 with a complete game 1 hit shut out of the Outlaws. Hamels was not bad himself going 7 1/3 and allowing 3 runs, but Morgan, was somehow too much striking out 2 and walking 1. Hosmer’s 3 run HR was all the scoring in this game. Brian McCann had the only hit for New York. Corktown 3-0 W. Morgan 2-0 l. Hamels 3-3
Game #3:	Both starters were “Lights Out” in game 3. Veteran Jake Peavy gave up the only run of the game in the 5th to Rookie catcher Carlos Perez on a solo HR. Peavy went 8 while striking out 5. It was another rookie who stole the show in this one. Cycle SP Colin Rea almost went the distance, but needed help from his closer in the 9th with the bases loaded to record the games final out. Rea K’d 11 and giving up only 4 hits in 8.2 W. Rea 1-1 L. Peavy 1-4 S. Shreve (3)
Game #4:	It took until the 6th inning to finally get to a Cycle starting pitcher, but the Outlaws found a way and never looked back. Brian McCann lead the way going 3/5 and adding a Home Run to a route of Corktown. Rookie Cody Anderson looked sharp throwing 7 strong and giving up 1 while striking out 8. New York 7-1 W. Anderson 4-0 L. Koehler 2-4
Game #5:	The game had 16 total hits, and neither pitcher was able to go deep but the game ended in a 1-0 score. It was Alexi Ramierz with an RBI hit in the 6th that would somehow be enough for the Outlaws to get the 2nd win of the series. W. Wright 2-1 L. DeSCLAFANI 2-4 S. Jansen (13)
Game #6:	Harang and Hellickson faced off as a rematch of game 1. Hellickson didn’t go the distance, but he did bring some good stuff again giving up only 1 run through 6. The Cycle pen cleaned up the last 3 innings to give the Corktown franchise their first series victory in team history. W. Hellickson 2-5 L. Harang 1-4 S. Shreve (4)
Game #7:	Jorge Lopez took the mound for his first career start and did everything he needed to do for the Cycle. He was able to go 6 giving up 1 run and hand the ball off to the Corktown pen who were able to do their job for the 2nd straight game. Parra had his 2nd HR of the series for the Outlaws. W. Lopez 1-0 L. Noesi 0-1 S. Shreve (5)
Series Summary	The Cycle came to play in this series winning 5-2 after being swept at home by Clovis 1 week ago. The story belongs to the young Cycle pitchers. New York leaves trying to shake this one off.
