Game #1 – C.J. Wilson vs. Matt Cain
Tempe scored two unearned runs in the 2nd when C.J. Wilson dropped the throw from Joey Votto on a weak infield grounder and then walked Yoenis Cespedes to force in another run. In the 3rd, Ryan Braun hit a solo home run off Wilson to make it a 3-0 game. Joey Votto put Camarillo on the board in the 4th when he took Matt Cain deep. Tempe loaded the bases in the 5th and an Adrian Gonzalez sacrifice fly made it 4-1. Another RBI double by Braun in the 6th and a second homer in the 8th made it 6-2. Matt Cain went 5.2 innings for the win. Tom Wilhelmsen and Jim Johnson pitched the final 2.1 innings to preserve the win.

Game #2 – R.A. Dickey vs. Andy Pettitte
Both starters pitched well with R.A. Dickey only allowing four hits over 7.0 innings and Pettitte going five innings with two hits and one homerun. However, Dickey’s defense failed him in the 3rd and made two errors that allowed Tempe to score three unearned runs. Ryan Braun capped the three run third with a two run RBI double. Luis Cruz and Jordany Valdespin each hit solo homeruns for the Quest to keep the game tight, but Jeremy Horst pitched 2.2 scoreless innings and Jim Johnson pitched another scoreless 9th for his 1st save. Andy Pettitte improved his MWBL post season record to 8-1.

Game #4 – Matt Cain vs. Joe Saunders
The Quest turned to #5 starter Joe Saunders to keep their season alive. Saunders only recorded one out before he was pulled with the bases loaded and losing 2-0. Brandon Lyon surrendered a sac fly, but he recorded the final two outs of the inning. An Adrian Gonzalez solo homerun put Tempe up 4-0 in the 4th. The Quest finally got to Matt Cain in the 4th on a solo homerun by Luis Cruz. Tempe added another run in the top of the 5th, but the Garret Jones kept it a three run game with solo shot in the bottom inning. Two more solo shots in the 7th by Jose Bautista and Darwin Barney made it a 5-4 game. However, a Curtis Granderson two run homerun in the 9th put the game away.  Tom Wilhelmsen and Jim Johnson pitched scoreless 8th and 9th innings.
