Columbus  Explorers @ Selkirk  Steelers

Series Preview: Selkirks off to a hot start can they continue the run? Columbus. Columbus has lost three in a row and below .500 because of the tough division they are in.
Game #1: All Selkirk 10-1. Gibson goes 9 5 hits unearned run Winker homer.
Game #2: Selkirk wins 4-3 as Igalias gets the win. Garcia homer Kimbrell 7th save.
Game #3: Perez hits two and Story one for Columbus as they score 9 off Criswell and the Selkirk pen. But atlast 17 hits 13 runs Carlson and Alonso homer gives Selkirk the 13 to 9 win.
Game #4: Semien Alonso and Garcia homer 8-1 Selkirk.
Game #5: Betts and Semien homer and Cease throws 8 innings of 2 hit ball and Kimbrel saves his 8th 3-0 Selkirk.
Game #6: Hernandez and Perez homer but its not enough as Semien and Longoria homer Kimbrel saves his 9th 4-3.
Game #7: 10-6 Selkirk as Betts homers.
Series Summary: Selkirk gets all the key hits and great bullpen work sweeping Columbus. Winker gets hurt again but rest of the outfield picked up the slack.

Long Beach  Dirt Bags @ Rosemere  Renegades

Game #1: Rosemere led 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th when Grossman hit a 2 run HR to tie the game. In the 10th Cruz singled with the bases loaded giving Long Beach a 4-3 win.
Game #2: Rosemere was ahead 1-0 in the 6th when Long Beach erupted for 5 runs. Solak drove in the first 2 and Torreyes capped the inning with a 2 run HR. The Dirt Bags added another run in the 8th and won 6-1.
Game #3: Trailing 3-1 in the 4th Grossman hit a 3 run HR to give Long Beach a 4-3 lead. The offense rolled from there as the Dirt Bags won 10-5. Varsho scored 4 runs and had 3 RBI to lead the charge.
Game #4: Woodruff threw a 5 hit, 10K shutout as Long Beach won 4-0.
Game #5: In a great pitcher’s duel, Long Beach led 1-0 in the 8th when Luplow homered to tie the game. It was still 1-1 in the 11th when Tapia singled in Fletcher. In the bottom of the inning, Long Beach had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs when Zimmerman tripled them in to give the Dirt Bags a walk off 3-2 win. Both starters, Manoah & Webb went 10 innings without a decision.
Game #6: Wheeler gave up 2 hits in 7+ shutout innings as Long Beach won 2-0. Both runs came in the 1st on a Turner 2 run dinger.
Game #7: On a bullpen day, Peterson went 4 1/3 shutout innings and the bullpen did the rest as Long Beach closed out the series with a 2-1 win. Eovaldi was excellent but took the loss without any run support.
Series Summary: Long Beach sweeps the 7 game series and extends their winning streak to 10 games.

Baltimore  Comets @ Bethesda  Bandicoots

Series Preview: Early season battle for 1st place in the N.L. East, as the Bandicoots, trailing the 1st place Comets by a half game, visit Baltimore.
Game #1: It’s all Baltimore in the opener, as the Comets bang out an 11-1 victory. Judge, Renfroe, and Wendle each have 3 hits for the Comets. Wendle knocks in 4 and Jameson Taillon wins his 5th for Baltimore. Juan Soto hits his 11th homerun in the loss.

Game #3: Losing streak over, Bethesda eeks out a 3-2 victory, thanks to a Paul DeJong 2 run homerun in the 7th (#12). Alex Cobb gets the win, striking out 9. The Bandicoots lose Aledmys Diaz for 15 games after he gets plunked by Sonny Gray.

Game #4: Jake Odorizzi pitches 7 1/3 strong innings, limiting the Comets to 2 runs, 1 earned, on 8 hits, to win his 6th of the season. Juan Soto had a double, a single, and knocked in 2 to pace the offense. Aaron Judge hit a solo homerun (#12) for Baltimore.

Game #5: This one hurts … Bruce Zimmerman left the game in the 7th with a 6-2 lead, and then the bullpen imploded. Aaron Bummer yielded a pair of homeruns, and Funkhouser allowed another, as Bethesda would score 6 times in the 7th, going on to win 11-7. Schoop (10), Soto (12), Chang (3), O’Hearn (2), and DeJong (13) all go deep for the Bandicoots. Gallo (9) and Kelly (3) hit longballs for Baltimore.

Game #6: The Bethesda offensive onslaught continues; for the 2nd game in a row the Bandicoots score 11 times. Brad Miller homers twice (#4&5), Scoop (11), and Soto (13) also homer.

Game #7: Homeruns account for all of the runs in the series finale. Frank Schwindel hits 2 solo homeruns (#s 7&8) and Juan Soto hit another homerun (14) for Bethesda. Donaldson (8) and Judge (13) homer for the home team. This one goes to the 11th, when a homerun off the bat of Kyle Seager (#11) sends Aaron Bummer, and the Comets to their 5th straight defeat.

Series Summary: The difference in the series was in the bullpen, as the Bandicoots got solid outings, while the Comets were inconsistent and generous with the longballs. Baltimore entered the series with a slim lead, and leave with a 5 game losing streak, 2 1/2 back. The lack of pitching is catching up!

Series Preview: The 21-18 Sacramento Capitals visit the 15-24 Portland LumberJax
Game #1: Capitals control throughout as Rich Hill shuts down Portland’s offense, and a trio of Sacramento hitters go long.

Game #2: Sac jumps out to a 3-2 lead after two, and neither team scores from there on.

Game #3: Portland’s Kyle Freeman gets his fifth win on the season and a full-game shutout.

Game #4: Portland’s Bradley Zimmer comes off the injury list, and gets hit by the first pitch from the Capitols and goes back on the injury list. Two Portland pitchers get ejected for later retaliation. Sacramento scores 11 runs on 13 hits in the blowout.

Game #5: Portland gets another full-game shutout, this time by Marquez.

Game #6: Portland gets 4 runs in the 5th inning, and that would be all the needed. Sacramento spoils Eflin’s shutout attempt with two two-out homeruns in the 9th inning.

Series Summary: Portland and Sacramento split the series 3 all.

Harsens Island  Walleye @ Jersey  Nor’easters

Game #1: Adbert Alzolay NO-HITS Harsens Island 8-0. The first no-hitter in Noreaster history. This set the tone for a dominant pitching performance for the Jersey starters in 5 of the 7 games.
Game #2: Not to be outdone, Matt Boyd fires a complete game 2-hit shutout as Jersey takes game 2 by a score of 5-0. Jose Ramirez, Tauchman and Naquin homer for the Noreasters.
Game #3: Ronald Guzman homers twice backing the strong pitching from John Means as the Noreasters win the game 4-2.
Game #4: Zack Greinke raises his record to 5-1 going 7 innings allowing just one run in a 7-1 Jersey win. The Noreasters got homers from back-up starters Quinn, Tauchman and Diaz.
Game #5: Sam Hentges pitches into the 7th inning coming away with a 4-1 win for Harsens Island.
Game #6: Adbert Alzolay wins his 2nd game of the series going 7.1 innings allowing just a single run in a 5-2 Jersey win.
Game #7: Harsens Island takes the final game 8-3. Michael King goes 8 innings for the win. Nolan Arenado has two RBI’s for the winners raising his total to 30 in this young season.
Series Summary: Jersey behind strong pitching from Alzolay, Boyd, Means and Greinke take the series 5-2 and keep their heads above 500 for the year.

Southbend  Lynx @ Detroit  Crime 

Series Summary: Southbend Lynx takes the series over Detroit.

Coconut Creek  Crushers @ Dallas  Cougars

Series Preview: Rebuilding teams battle for relevance.
Game #1: Flexen dominates with 7 IP 2H 1R as CCC wins 7-2.
Game #2: Giolito returns the favor with a complete game and 13 K’s for DAL in a 6-2 win.
Game #3: Kaprielian and BP lead CCC to a 4-1 win. Haniger provided the support with a 3-run HR.
Game #4: Plesac and Musgrove both pitch well but get no decisions. DAL scores twice in the 9th to win 5-3.
Game #5: Civale throws a complete game 2-hitter in a 9-1 CCC win.
Game #6: Flexen does it again with 7 IP 3H and 1 R. He gets his second win of the series in a CCC 8-2 win.
Series Summary: CCC takes the last two games to win the series 4-2.

Series Summary:  Mesa takes the series 5 games to 2.

Tempe  Tempers @ Triple Creek  Patriots

Series Preview: The Patriots face the Tempers for six.
Game #1: Wainwright throws a complete game No-Hitter. He started the season 0-6 but he’s catching fire now.
Tempe 2-0
Game #2: Gurriel had the Patriots only hit and only rbi of the game. (that’s 1 hit over the first two game). Albies two run jack was all Tempe’s bullpen needed.
Tempe 3-1
Game #3: Tempe busts out for 8 runs in the first two innings and then adds another 8 the rest of the way.
Tempe 16-1
Game #4: Albies three run shot was all Wainwright needed. Wainwright went 7.2 inn and only gave up one earned run.
Tempe 4-1
Game #5: Triple Creek breaks a 2-2 tie in the 5th and then hangs on for their first win of the series. Plawecki cleared the bases in the bottom of the 9th, but was thrown out going for the triple.
Triple Creek 6-5
Game #6: Bogaerts RBI single in the 13th gave Tempe the win. Gausman had another great game with 14 SO INN 9 innings. Sanchez was also very good over 8 INN.
Tempe 2-1
Series Summary: Triple Creek left the bats at home and barely avoided the sweep.

Motor City  Muscle @ Yonge Street  Stalkers

Series Preview: Yonge Street @Motor City for 6 games.
Series Summary: YSS takes the series 5 games to 1.

Chicago  Mobsters @ Tijuana  Bottle Rockets

Series Preview: Tijuana hosts division foe Chicago in a 7 game series.
Series Summary: Chicago flexes it’s muscles and takes 6 of 7 from the hometown Bottle Rockets.

Fremont  Cannons @ Cincinnati  Skyliners

Series Preview: First place Fremont makes its annual trek to Cincinnati for a seven-game set at Glenn Sample Field.
Series Summary: Fremont takes six of seven, as Cincinnati shows spirit early in the series with three one-run games and forcing another to extra innings before being destroyed in the last three games.

Hollywood  Werewolves @ Virginia  Sluggers

Series Preview: Real life injuries deeply impact this years roster and a very weak VIR team takes on a HOL team that is trying to hold off an overachieving Southbend team.
Game #1: HOL 8-1
HOL establishes who the boss is. C.Morton (6-2) 7IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 7K. M.Olson 3-5, 3 RBI and a HR (7). K.Farmer 2-5, 2 RBI. K.Marte 1-5, solo HR (6).
Game #2: HOL 4-1
J.Cronenworth breaks a 1-1 tie with an 8th inning 3-run HR (5). C.Kershaw (4-0) 7.2IP, 5H, 1R, 2BB, 10K. J.Cronenworth was offensive highlight.
Game #3: HOL 6-1
More of the same. S,McClanahan (4-0), 7IP, 5H, 1R, 3BB, 10K. M.Olson 1-5 with a 2-run HR. C.Vazquez 1-3 with a 2-run double.
Game #4: VIR 2-1
Didn’t mean to break HOL streak, but C.Biggio swung on a take sign and accidentally cleared the fence to break a 1-1 tie and give VIR a rare win. T.McKenzie (4-1) 7IP, 2H, 1R, 5BB, 6K.
Game #5: VIR 3-1
R.Devers finally showed up and hit a 3rd inning 2 run homer to give VIR a 3-0 lead they were able to hold. W.LeBlanc (3-2) 8IP, 6H, 1R, 1BB, 6K.
Game #6: HOL 10-2
HOL didn’t like losing 2 in a row. K.Marte 3-5, 3R, 4RBI, 2 HR (7,8) and a Double owned the VIR pitchers. Also going deep in a show of power…K.Farmer 2-5 2RBI, HR (5), M.Olson 1-4, HR (9), J.Cronenworth 3-5, HR (6) and B.Gamel 2-3, 2RBI, HR (6). HOL dished out 16 hits to a team tired of chasing balls.
Game #7: HOL 10-0
C.Kershaw (5-0) and 3 relievers combined to shutout VIR as if to say, “There! DO NOT beat us 2 in a row again!!” Another 16 hit game for HOL,…but only 1 HR. M.Olson was the one HR as he hit #10 in a 4-5, 3R, 2RBI day. (He had a very good series). Five other players got 2 hits each as HOL pounded it’s way to another win.
Series Summary: Hollywood made another statement that let other teams know that if you are as bad as VIR,…you’re going to get your butt beat.

Corktown  Cycle @ Valdosta  Snappers

Series Summary: The Cycle take 4 of 6 from the lowly Snappers.
