Rules Outline for Eligibility & Procedure

2. Hall of Fame

2.1. Induction to the HOF may occur through Voted Induction or Veteran’s Committee Induction.

2.1.1. Voted Induction

2.1.1.1. HOF voting is every year (January 15th) with exception of the initial vote (June 2003).

2.1.1.2. Each MWBL Franchise receives one ballot, and may vote for a minimum of 2 players but no more than 5 players.

2.1.1.3. In order to be elected, a player must receive 75+% of the total votes possible (currently 18 based on 24 teams).

2.1.1.4. No more than 2 players may be elected in a given year, if more than 2 players receive 75+% of the votes, the top 2 in vote totals will be elected.

2.1.1.5. The only eligibility to be on the HOF Ballot is two consecutive years without a card due to retirement and/or injury.

2.1.1.6. The MHOF Committee maintains the HOF Ballot.

2.1.1.7. A player will be removed from the HOF Ballot after 4 years, unless he received at least 5 votes in the most recent election. Upon removal from the ballot, the player will be eligible for Veterans Committee consideration.

2.1.1.8. Any player receiving no votes will be removed from the ballot and will be in-eligible to be elected by the Veterans Committee consideration.
