Game #2: | TIJ L.Gil vs SBL F.Peralta
The anticipated pitcher’s duel between the two team aces did not happen. TIJ started the barrage in the T2 when Happ 2bs, Sanchez bbs, Vogelbach bbs, Kiner-Falefa hits into a rbi-FC, Hampson with an inf-1b (Sanchez held up at 3rd), Vanmeter then ris a 2-run 2b, Senzel follows with a rbi-1b and it’s 4-0 TIJ!. But they’re not done as Hayes hits a SF, Mullins bbs, Happ bbs, and Sanchez knocks Peralta out of the game with a 2-run 1b. TIJ Gil makes it to the B3 before the SBL strikes back when Canha bbs, Wynns FC, Fraley FC, Bichette 1bs, and K.Tucker hits a 3-run HR. In the SBL B5 Canha 2bs, Fraley bbs, Bichette rbi-1b, K.Tucker bbs, and then Muncy hits a Grandslam to give the Lynx a 8-7 lead knocking TIJ Gil out of the game. SBL stretches it lead in the B6 when Canha 1bs, Wynns bbs, and Bichette hits a 3-run HR. TIJ gets two back in the T7 when Mullins bbs, Happ bbs, Franco groundout, and a Vogelbach 2-run 1b. But that would be all the scoring as SBL goes to Jackson in the T8 and Steckenrider in the T9 to close out the game. Southbend 11, Fremont 9 |

SBL opens the scoring in the B2 with 2 outs when Escobar 1bs, Mayfiled 1bs, and Alford hits a 3-run HR. TIJ gets on the board in the T5 when Grisham bbs, Hayes 1bs, and Mullins with an rbi-1b. But the TIJ lead is short lived as SBL come back in the B6 as Alford 1bs, moves up on a Wynns groundout, and then scores on a Canha rbi-2b, followed by an Altuve rbi-1b. The SBL bullpen would then use Duffy, Jackson and Steckenrider to close the game out. SBL WP-M. Barnes Sv-D.Steckenrider IIJ LP-T.Roark Southbend 5, Tijuana 3 |
Game #4: | TIJ T.Zeuch vs SBL N.Pivetta
TIJ strikes first in the T2 taking advantage of poor Lynx fielding as Wynns drops Kiner-Falefa’s pop up, and then Vogelbach hits a 2-run HR. SBL Meadows hits a solo-HR in the B2 to get a run back. TIJ adds a run in the T4 with a Happ solo-HR. In the SBL B5 Canha reaches 1st on a Sanchez error, Bichette hits a 2-run HR to tie the game at 3-3. SBL then gets solo-HRs from K.Tucker, Meadows, and Escobar to move out to a 6-3 lead! TIJ shows some life in the T7 when Happ 2bs, Kiner-Falefa 1bs to CF and Cave’s wild throw lets Happ score, and then Vogelbach ties the game with a 2-run HR! The game goes to extra innings where in the B11 Canha 1bs, steals 2nd, and after Bichette P5, K.Tucker is IW, but Altuve comes through with a game winning rbi-1b. SBL WP-M.Barnes / LP-J.Sheffield Southbend 7, Tijuana 6 |
Game #5: | TIJ T.Roark vs SBL J.Yamamoto
TIJ out in front in the T1 when with 2 outs Mullins 1bs and moves to 2nd on Almonte’s error and Franco follows with a rbi-1b. SBL come right back in the B1 when Fraley hits a solo-HR, Bichette 1bs, Tucker with a H&R 1b, and Muncy with a rbi-groundout, followed by a Altuve rbi-1b for a 3-1 SBL lead. SBL add two more runs in the B3 when Tucker bbs and Muncy hits a 2-run HR. TIJ closes the gap in the T4 when Franco bbs, Torrens 1bs, Sanchez hits fly ball to CF that Fraley misplays allowing Franco to score, Kiner-Falefa with an rbi-1b, and then Hampson with a SF. SBL Muncy hits a solo-HR in the B5 and Wynns hits a solo-HR in the B6 to stretch the SBL lead to 7-4. TIJ gets a Sanchez 2-run HR in the T8 to pull within a run, but Duffy gets out of the inning without any further scoring. In the TIJ T9 SBL D.Steckenrider pitches around a Hampson 1b to record his 22nd save. SBL WP-J.Yamamoto Sv-D.Steckenrider / TIJ LP-T.Roark Southbend 7, Tijuana 6 |

SBL Bichette hits a solo-HR in the B1 and that’s as close as it would get for the Lynx. TIJ has had enough after the first 5 games and proceeds to put a major whooping on the Lynx. TIJ adds 6 more runs in the T3 with the big hit being a Happ 3-run HR. But TIJ just keeps pouring it on with 3 in the 5th, 5 in the 6th, and 3 more in the 8th. TIJ ends up with 20 runs on 19 hits; Hayes goes 4-6 with 4 runs, HR and 3 RBI; Happ is 4-5 with 3 runs, 6 RBI, a 2b and a HR. TIJ C.Martin is stellar going 7IP giving up only 3 hits, while walking 1 and fanning 6. SBL get a Meadows Grandslam in the B8 to highlight a 7 run inning for some last minute token runs for the Lynx.
