Sacramento Capitals @ Pittsburgh Lumber Company

Series Summary: Absolutely horrible series for Pittsburgh, as all of our power bats, fall asleep when 1st place Sacramento comes to town. All games are close as expected, but we score only 6 runs combined in the 6 games – and half of those came in our sole win.

The offense will be wearing chicken suits on their next flight, as they all layed big eggs in this one.

Southbend Lynx @ Chicago Mobsters

Series Preview: Two first-place teams match up again for a six-game series. One team is still a contender and one is starting to fall into the pretender area. The Series was played using Teamviewer.com
Game #1: Max Muncy was the nemesis for the Mobsters in this one as he goes 4 for 5 with a Double, Homerun & 3 RBI’s. It takes 10 Innings but the Lynx win in the end.

Final Score:
Southbend 7 – Chicago 5 (10 Innings)

Win: Roberto Osuna 4-2 (2.66)
Loss: Luke Jackson 1-1 (2.96)
Save: Tyler Kinley #1

Game #2: The Lynx comes out swinging & mashing as the top 3 guys in the line up each has an RBI & 4,5, & 6 have 2 or more. Eduardo Escobar, has 3 RBI, Mark Canha 2 RBI’s & Jake Cave 2 RBI’s.

Final Score:
Southbend 10 – Chicago 4

Win: Nick Pivetta 4-8 (5.14)
Loss: C.C. Sabathia 12-4 (4.87)
Save: Matt Barnes #1

Game #3: After using up the pen in Games 1 & 2 the Lynx had to leave one guy on the mound if they wanted anyone healthy for games 4, 5, & 6. Unfortunately, that man was Derek Holland. 10 Earned in 8 Innings did the Lynx in. Though in all actuality he really didn’t pitch to bad.
Chicago got Home Runs from Danny Santana (1 HR & 4 RBI’s while going 3 for 4) & Yandy Diaz (1 HR & 3 RBI’s while going 2 for 4). Noah Syndergaard pitched decently for the Mobsters with 8 strong innings of work.
Final Score:
Chicago 10 – Southbend 5Win: Noah Syndergaard 11-6 (3.60)
Loss: Derek Holland 4-4 (6.31)
Game #4: Yordan Alvarez Homered & had 3 RBI’s while Marcus Stroman was solid with 8 Innings of 1 Earned Run in this one.

Final Score:
Chicago 6 – Southbend 2

Win: Marcus Stroman 8-8 ( 3.67)
Loss: Jeff Samardzija 14-3 (3.31)

Game #5: Max Muncy does the Mobsters in again with a 3 for 4 day including 2 Doubles, a Homerun, 2 Runs Scored, & 3 RBI’s. he rested bullpen for the Lynx made the difference as they pitch 5.1 Innings of 1 Run relief. Trevor Bauer Struck Out 14 Lynx along the way in the loss.

Final Score:
Southbend 5 – Chicago 3

Win: Marcus Walden 9-3 (3.38)
Loss: Trevor Bauer 9-11 (4.95)
Save: Roberto Osuna #31

Game #6: Julio Urias went 7 with nothing giving up but 6 Hits and 1 Walk. Chicago’s pen came in for the last 2 Innings and shut the door. Joey Votto had 3 Hits in 4 trips, but it was a 2-Run Home Run off the bat of Luis Arraez to win it for the Mobsters.

Final Score:
Chicago 2 – Southbend 0

Win: Julio Urias 5-1 (1.95)
Loss: Yordan Yamamoto 4-1 (2.48)
Save: Aroldis Chapman #22

Series Summary: The Series was a split (3-3) but the Lynx take the season series 7 games to 5. It could be an interesting playoff matchup if the Mobsters can hang around that long.

Virginia Sluggers @ Detroit Crime

Harsens Island Walleye @ Long Beach Dirt Bags

Series Summary: The visitors played much better taking 4 out of 6.

Manhattan Project @ Mesa Solar Sox

Series Preview: Two teams under .500 but Mesa plays probably it’s worst series of the year.
Game #1: Mesa rides Andrew Heaney’s 6 innings of one-run ball and a homer from, who else, Eugenio Suarez for a 5-1 win.
Game #2: Mesa starter Drew Smyly gets blasted for 7 runs and 10 hits in 3 innings. Iglesias hits a three-run homer and Matt Duffy goes back to back with him in a 6 run 3rd inning. This after Mesa takes a 5-0 lead on an Aldoberto Mondesi grand slam in the 1st. Rowdy Tellez and Dustin Garneau also homer for Mesa but Manhattan combines 14 hits and 5 walks in a 10-8 win.
Game #3: Mesa and Manhattan trade 4 run innings in the 1st and 2nd. Tim Anderson hits a go-ahead homer in the 5th but Mitch Haniger doubles home 2 in the 7th and they score an unearned insurance run in the 9th for a 7-5 win.
Game #4: 3 Mesa errors and homers from Anthony Santander and Tommy Edelman and Manhattan wins its third in a row 6-3. Nomar Mazara and Suarez hit solo HRs for Mesa.
Game #5: Mesa commits FIVE errors, their pitchers give up 12 hits and allow 4 walks. Naturally, Mesa wins 10-8. Why? Homers, homers, homers – Isan Diaz, Rowdy Tellez, Randall Grichuk, AND two more from Suarez…wow.
Game #6: Manhattan wins 9-7 with all the runs scored by the 5th inning. Duffy and Choi drive in 3 each. Oberg saves his 15th.
Oh… Suarez goes deep AGAIN!!
Series Summary: Manhattan wins the series 42- but Suarez is the story:
8-22, 7 runs, 7 RBI a double, and 5 homers.   For the year – .311/.408/.730 98 games, 114 hits, 46 HRs, 88 runs, 114 RBI…..

Motor City Muscle @ Coconut Creek Crushers

Series Preview: Can the Crushers not get crushed?
Game #1: Ozzie Arcia hits a 3-run HR in anger in the 8th inning. Why in anger? Because his error prevented Verlander’s no-hitter from being a perfect game.
Game #2: CCC says no way are we getting no-hit again. We put up 8 runs against Degrom…
and lose 11-8.
Game #3: Rich Hill pitches MCM to an 8-0 victory.
Game #4: CCC jumps on Hendricks early and holds on for a 6-4 win.
Game #5: Leading 3-2 after 6 innings, MCM brings in Game-1 star and scheduled Game-6 SP Verlander. He throws 3 more hitless innings to get the save.
Game #6: Taylor Clarke gets a spot start in Verlander’s place and promptly tosses a complete game shutout. Snell is strong for CCC as he throws 8 innings with only 2 hits.
Series Summary: MCM wins the series 5-1. Verlander gets both a no-hitter and a save while hurling 12 hitless innings. Pretty sure he is Pitcher of the Week.

Hollywood Werewolves @ Dallas Cougars

Series Summary: Dallas continues their woeful start to the 2nd half of the season when Hollywood came into town to take 4 of 6. The Cougars have gone 4-14 since July 6th – although they are 4-4 since losing 10 straight to begin the 2nd half.

Jersey Nor’easters @ Portland Lumber Jax

Series Preview: The Jersey Nor’Easters (38-58) blow into Portland (37-59).
Game #1: A couple of dingers for Jersey is all they need, as Jersey pitching keeps Portland bats quite.
JER 4 POR 1
Game #2: Gonzales gets the complete game 2-hitter for the Nor’Easters as they get another easy win.
JER 3 POR 0
Game #3: Portland bats come alive, and so does their pitching. Flaherty gets a CG 2-hitter in the blowout.
POR 11 JER 0
Game #4: Third straight game in a row with a shutout, this time its the Nor’Easters, with Soroka giving up just 1 hit, and the bullpen 0. That’s right… a 1-hitter.
JER 3 POR 0
Game #5: Portland gets some runs in this one, and Nova gets the CG 4-hitter.
POR 6 JER 1

Series Summary: Fremont enjoys a 4-2 road series win.

Southwest Detroit Fighting Chihuahuas @ Yonge Street Stalkers

Series Preview: The Chihuahuas aren’t gonna roll over and play dead.
Game #1: SWD came out strong and tallied 2 runs in the first. 2 homers by Joc Pederson (24) and 2 more from Jorge Soler (35) provided the home team with a much stronger reply. YSS 7 – SWD 2
Game #2: Jon Gray was a bit sloppy and was outpitched by the man you all know and love; Gerson Bautista. Jairo Diaz came in to close it out for the home team and proceeded to spit the bit. SWD 5 – YSS 4
Game #3: NO HIT ALERT! Gerrit Cole (2 BB, 30 BF). He’s a proud multi-timer. It’s entirely possible he adds another one next week when the Crushers visit. Yeah, I said it. YSS 3 – SWD 0
Game #4: This is what happens when you start talkin’ trash to a team you’re not playing until next week. The team you’re currently playing thinks you might be looking past them. Colin Moran homered and plated 5 in the blowout. SWD 10 – YSS 1
Game #5: Adrian Houser improved to 10-1 for the home squad, who got 4 homers from a trio of back burners. YSS 7 – SWD 2
Game #6: A back and forth affair. YSS struck first and held on despite being outhit 12-8. Jorge Soler homered and swiped a bag. YSS 5 – SWD 3
Series Summary: YSS took 4 of 6 and hope to keep it going when the Crushers come to town. SWD hits the road to HOL.
