Southwest Detroit  Fighting Chihuahuas @ Southbend  Lynx

Series Preview: AL West Division leader Southbend hosts Southwest Detroit in a six game series.
Game #1: SBL Escobar started the scoring with a 2-run HR in the B1. It was all SBL from there on as they rack up 12 runs on 16 hits scoring at least a run through the 5th inning. Escobar added another rbi and Canha goes 2-4 w/3 rbi and a HR as well. Lone bright spot for SWD is a Healy 2-run HR in the T6.
SBL 12, SWD 2
Game #2: SWD jumps out quick with an Andujar solo-HR in the T1. SWD follows up with 2 more in the T2 ona McMahon 1b, Wieters 2b, and J.Jones 2-rbi 1b. But they can’t hold the lead as SBL strikes for 4 in the B3. Escobar drives a 2-rbi 2b with the bases loaded and Jones throwing error allows the 3rd run to score. Canha then rips an rbi-1b for the SBL 4-3 lead. SBL get another run in the B5 on a Muncy solo-HR. SBL bullpen takes over after the 6th to secure the win. Koch with the win and Osuna with his 28th save.
SBL 5, SWD 3
Game #3: SBL score first in the B2 when Trumbo 1bs, Cozart 2bs, and Forsythe hits an rbi-groundout. SWD tied it in the T4 on a Moran solo-HR. In the SBL B7 Joyce 1bs, Forsythe 1bs, Valaika’s error on Altuve grounder loads the bases, Muncy follows with an rbi-1b and Forsythe scores on J.Davis throwing error. Forsythe adds another run for the SBL with an rbi-2b in the B8. That’s how it would end. Holland goes 6ip giving up 1 run for the win, Osuna picks up his 29th save.
SBL 4, SWD 1
Game #4: SWD scores in the T1 on a Andujar 2b and Healy rbi-1b. Its all down hill from there as SBL blow the game out early with 10 runs in the first two innings. SBL use a series of rbi-1bs for 4 runs in the B1 and then rbi-2bs for 6 more in the B2. SWD get 1 more on 2bs by
Swanson and Healy in the T6. But it was over early, Canha has 4 hits with 2 rbi, Jackson adds 3 hits and 3 rbi, Foltynewicz gets the win and Brach gets the long 3 inning save, his 1st of the year.
SBL 12, SWD 2
Game #5: Again SWD looks good as they get 2 in the T1 on an Andujar rbi-1b; the 2nd run comes on a bases loaded GIDP by Healy letting Samardzija off the hook for an even bigger inning. Afterthat its a bood bath as the SBL plate 9 runs in the B2, 3 in the B6, and 7 in the B8. Overall the SBL score 21 runs on 20 hits. THe SBL took the lead on a Trumbo 2-run HR in the B2 and never looked back. Muncy and Escobar go back-to-back solo-HR in the B2 also. Escobar hits a Grand Slam in the B8 for his 2nd HR of the game. Overall the SBL hit 6 HRs in the game. Samardzija gets the win in his SBL debut and 1st start of the season.
SBL 21, SWD 3
Game #6: SWD scores in the T1 on a Jankowski bb, Swanson 1b, and Healy rbi-1b. Its looking good for SWD as Lopez is incontrol tossing 6 shut out innings. But in the B7 Escobar leads off with a 1b and Meadows follows witha 2-run HR to give the SBL the lead. Cave then 1bs and 2 outs later scores on a Maxwell rbi-2b. Pivetta goes 8.2 innings for the win and Osuna picks up his 30th save.
SBL 3, SWD 1
Game #7: In the T1 Lowrie hits a solo-HR and that would be all the runs the SBL would need as Koch is dominating in this game. SBL Koch only gives up a 1st inning 1b to Swanson, walks 2 , and fans 7, in route to his CG shutout. SBL erupt for 6 runs in the T3 by stringing together various base hits. SBL would end up scoring 15 runs on 25 hits. Altuve 4-6, Lowrie 3-3 w/ 3runs and 4 rbi, Escobar and Trumbo each have 3 rbi, and Forsythe goes 5-5 w/3 runs scored. Koch gets the win.

Southbend takes the make up game for the rain out to complete their success against Southwest this season.
SBL 15, SWD 0

Series Summary: Southbend’s hitting is too much for Southwest Detroit as, just like at Southwest, the Lynx sweep the 6 game series.
