Game #1:  Jose Abreu Homered & drove in 2 RBI’s for the Cougars, but it wasn’t enough. Andrew McCutchen & Billy Hamilton both Homered & Noah Syndergaard was solid for 6 Innings.

Game #3:  C Carter error in B9 helps RRG gets his first win of the series.  3-2 RRG
Game #4:  C Kimbrel can’t close the door in B12 as RR plates a couple in for a 7-6 win.
Game #5:  Despite 5 hits in the first inning, RRG only scores one and pay for it later on 3-2 VAL  Reynolds makes the difference producing all VAL runs.
Game #6:  This time around RRG can’t overcome an xtra inning deficit as VAL takes the final one 4-3.
Series Summary:  Valdosta takes the series 4-2.  All but one game were one run games

Series Preview:  Selkirk trying to avoid last place Windy City looking to reach .500
Game #1:  A 9 run 5th inning does in Selkirk 9-5.
Game #2:  Bettis nice start in the Windy City 4-3 wins.
Game #3:  A great start by Norris a 4 hitter 10 K’s Selkirk 1-0.
Game #4:  An even better start by by Gibson as he goes 10 innings allowing just 3 hits to get 1-0 Selkirk win in 10 innings.
Game #5:  Castro drives in 2 as Windy City wins 4-3.
Game #6:  Windy City wins again 3-2 at the Shark was great.
Series Summary:  So Selkirk wins back to back 1-0 games but lose the other 4 games as Windy City .500 in focus. The two wins help Selkirk avoid last place.
Pitcher of the Week Gibson 10 innings 3 hits no runs just 34 batters faced.

The Muscles’ top of the order was too much for SWD, as Mike Trout and Paulo Orlando had five RBI between them. Scruggs and Ellsbury had two RBI apiece for SWD.

SWD jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but that disappeared on a Victor Martinez two-run bomb in the bottom half. It was a distant memory by the end of the MCM 5th inning, in which they scored nine runs (after scoring four in the 4th on Jayson Werth’s Grand Slam).

SWD again had anearly lead, but the MCM onslaught continued. Werth and Ahmed both had three-run HRs (Ahmed’s came after not being able to get a sac bunt down).

MCM scores 18 runs without a HR, but they did have six extra base hits. Paulo Orlando had six RBI, four hits, and scored three runs. Howie Kendrick and Nick Castellanos had four RBI each. Jayson Werth continued his great series with three more RBI, three runs scored and two doubles.

Game #2:  The Stalkers pushed across 5 runs in the 5th and that was plenty. Mookie Betts had a solo HR in the 8th. YSS 7 – CCC 1
Game #3:  Taijuan Walker and 2 relievers worked together well. YSS 5 – CCC 0
Game #4:  Only 1 homer was hit, but the Crushers opened up a can of whoop ass. CCC 16 – YSS 1
Game #5:  Jason Heywards pinch hit walk off hit won it in the 9th. YSS 5 – CCC 4
Game #6:  Shelby Miller and 3 relievers combined this time on the shutout. YSS 2 – CCC 0
Series Summary:  YSS treated their visitors rather shabbily. The Crushers lost 5 of 6 and will head home to finish the season hosting Hollywood. YSS will travel to CHI.

Grand Haven  Gators @ Tempe  Tempers

Series Preview:  The Gators visit Tempe for six games with not much on the line besides the 2018 draft order.
Game #1:  TEM 5-3 – Cueto picked up his 20th win. Bogaerts and Melky homer.
Game #2:  TEM 3-0 – Lester with his 22nd win.
Game #3:  TEM 5-3 – Cano and Braun go deep.
Game #4:  GHG 3-0 – Kirk Nieuwenhuis reminds Tempe they drafted him #336 (last pick) of the 2011 draft. He knocked in all three runs with a homerun and double from the leadoff spot.
Game #5:  TEM 9-7 – Tempe jumped out to a big lead with homeruns by Cano, Rasmus and Beltre. Santiago made it a little interesting while collecting usage in relief.
Game #6:  TEM 7-3 – Braun led the way with three hits.
Series Summary:  Tempe and Grand Haven will both finish the season at home next week.

Pittsburgh  Lumber Company @ Sacramento  Capitals

Series Summary:  Sac-town and Pit-town split the 6-game series.

Pujols hits 3 more HRs. He now sits at 619 for his MWBL career, only 8 behind career leader Arod–a record we look forward to seeing fall next year.

Mesa  Solar Sox @ Fremont  Cannons

Game #1:  The ball was flying out of the yard, as Brian Dozier (37) and Todd Frazier (37) homered for the visitors, and Javier Baez (15), Tommy Joseph (12), and Jonathan Schoop (23) went deep for Fremont. The Cannons would take it in the end 7-5.
Game #2:  A strong effort by the Cannons pitching staff shuts out the Solar Sox 3-0. Carlos Rodon moves to 11-14.
Game #3:  Mesa brought out the big lumber in this one, with two homers by Odubel Herrera (19) as well as homers by Steven Pearce (14), Brian Dozier (38), and Tim Anderson (6). Khris Davis hits the 40-homer milestone in the 9-2 loss to the Solar Sox.
Game #4:  Ian Kennedy moves to 14-9 with a 7-3 Mesa victory. Eddie Rosario (10) homers for the visitors, and Khris Davis (41) and Carlos Correa (18) homer for Fremont.
Game #5:  Adam Wainwright spaced out the hits in this one to improve to 12-11, as the Solar Sox double up the Cannons 10-5.
Game #6:  Dylan Bundy wins for just the second time this season, as Fremont takes the finale 8-5.
Series Summary:  3-3 series split.

Tijuana  Bottle Rockets @ Southbend  Lynx

Series Preview:  Tijuana visits Southbend for a 6 game series.
Series Summary:  Tijuana wins the first 3 games and Southbend bounces back and wins the last 3 for a series split.
